Will this cause some of you to hold out for the Pixel 4 / 4 XL instead of getting the Note 10?

https://www.droid-life.com/2019/08/...0hz-oled-display-6gb-ram-and-stereo-speakers/

Getting a Note 10 is not an option, if your a fan of stock Android. Don't care what people say, but Lagwiz is still learking in the shadows. And stupid duplicate apps for no reason. And way too many BS settings and useless gimmicks on Samsung phones.

To me Android is only about Pixel and OnePlus phones.

This is huge if true. I love the OP7 Pro but it along with the 3a will be sold and replaced with a Pixel 4 non-XL if this happens. Fingers crossed.

2800mAh battery in the smaller Pixel 4. That also doesn't sound good. Hope Google can work some magic but considering Pixels 1-3, not really promising. Sigh...
Why are they being so stingy with the battery? This is a huge complaint my husband and I have about our 3XLs and my Pixel 2 for that matter. Jeez Google.

Official Pixel 4 XL specs listing 6GB RAM and 3,700mAh battery are both big bummers.

OnePlus 7 Pro has 8GB - 12GB RAM and a large 4,000mAh battery. And is only $650.

Come on Google, you need to do better than this. I may just get the 7 Pro now .

And that big Frankenstein forehead bezel will look so goofy for a 2019 phone.

Nice. Now I’m tempted.

I’m not sure why the battery size is so important. I don’t mind charging my phone a bit more.

I’m okay at home. But there’s been some situations I had to really push it. Traveling with my kids sports teams, for example. Also I’ve recorded events that have lasted over two hours. I’m always glad when my phone has plenty left to spare. The last thing you want is for your battery to crap out on you when you’re recording something and your kid is about to get their turn to score a goal or sing a solo or make a speech.

Oh jeez and how can I forget when I’m using my phone as my GPS. It’s okay I can plug into my truck for some juice. But my other car is 27 years old!

No 4000 plus battery

No wide angle

No fingerprint reader

These are the things that would have gotten me to run out to buy this phone.

Not to mention the weird forehead that I am extremely dubious I will ever use.

I really wish I didn't love the pixel camera so much. There really is no other reason to buy one.

I can see how a smaller battery would be an issue in such a case. Thankfully, I’m a student, so I’m always near an outlet. Plus, I love the light weight of the Pixel. A smaller battery allows for a lighter Pixel. I’m tired of phones that weigh like bricks. It’s difficult to hold my iPhone 8 Plus because of its weight. I genuinely hate holding this phone. The 3 XL feels like a feather in comparison. Ergonomics > battery, for me.

Oh yeah I hear you. Most of the past year I’ve had a repetitive stress injury and badly strained pinky finger. I got a Pop Socket for the clear case that’s on my Xr. My S10+ has been light enough not to aggravate my problems. I’m doing better now.

Weight is such an important consideration for me now when buying a phone. My wrist hurts because of my 8 Plus and I’m only in my 20s (I don’t like using Pop Sockets). So, I don’t mind having a smaller battery if it means the phone will be lighter.

****ing Google man, WTF ? You can and should do so much better. It's your OS, it's the "stock vanilla homemade Google phone" designed the way you want Android to be. So make a bad ass phone already. You now charge high dollar for these Pixel's, start blowing away OnePlus for once. The 7 Pro for $650 should not be as good or maybe even slightly better against the higher priced $900+ Pixel 4 XL. But per these spec's, it's looking like another ok good phone, not amazing or give you a hard on type of phone, but a good solid smartphone.

I think the 7 Pro may be the Android phone of the year over the 4 XL.

Well let’s see what Google end up releasing and the reviews, in case they pull some impressive rabbits out of their hat. But I agree it’s not looking too good at the moment.

OnePlus has gone down a smart path in how they are building up their name and business.

Ouch...hadn’t seen the battery size rumors until now. I’ve read that the One Plus 7 Pro’s battery life is just decent to good with that 4000mAh onboard and Google is going smaller than that?

If Asus can cram 6000mAh in the ROG Phone 2, why the hell can’t Google get at least 4000mAh in the Pixel 4XL?

I've read on XDA guys getting great battery life on 7 Pros, like easily 6+hrs Screen On Time, more like 7h to 8h with the right settings. I can't get anywhere near that on my 3 X, and was hoping the 4 XL would see a huger improvement in battery life, yeah the SD855 is more efficient, that helps, but also a large battery always helps too.

Sure, OnePlus has the 4 XL beat spec-wise, but the 4 XL will offer a much better camera, Call Screen, Project Soli, and Face ID.

I see that 90 Hz refresh rate will use more battery.
Does anyone know if you can change the refresh rate back to 60?
Maybe a OP 7 Pro owner would know.

I'm sure you can on the OP7 Pro.

I might wait a month or so until the offers are on for this. Which gives me plenty of time to see how people get on with the battery. Not really looking to take a step back in that department.

90hz screen & 3700mAh battery don't sound good together.

Yikes. I didn’t think of that. Might be why Samsung didn’t do that for the Note. Those huge displays have barely enough battery to power them as it is.

I think it will come down to the software to be honest. The OP7P has a 4000mah (so 300mah bigger) but the screen is 6.7". The Pixel 4XL screen won't be so big.

I have read good things about the OP7P battery so who knows.
