So people that own the Pixel 4, are you running force 90hz from Developer Options settings?
Nope!

So those that are using 1 password with banking apps, are your apps not as secure as in the UK? Because aside from AMEX, mine all require a username and password (that the browser or app can auto fill) but then require 3 digits that change every time from a second password. Which is impossible to auto fill.

I bank with Barclays and their app asks for a set five digit passcode (not characters from it) every time you launch the app (unless you enable biometric which bypasses it where possible), so I’m wondering if these other options (lastpass etc) would work for that?

I see what you’re saying though re non sequential characters of a passcode needing to be entered. Probably no way around that. :(

Yeah, forgot about Barclays. It's Halifax & Lloyd's in particular for me that need sorting. It's not quite a deal breaker yet but Google should have given more to thought to advise developers on Face Unlock.

Android 10 was updated with banks in a couple of days.

Bank of America and it makes me enter a password in their app. Not supported for Face Unlock yet.

Did anyone buy the smaller Pixel 4 and can confirm battery results?
Or are you all XL'ers?! :)
Sorry...XL here....coming from the Note 10+....wish the XL was a little bigger maybe 6.5 or 6.8 to be honest.
The phone feels so small at 6.3 lol :D

What?!
You must have hands like shovels!

It's strange as my iPhone 11 screen is 6.1, but that's just about the biggest I'd like in that form factor.

After trending toward ever larger phones I got the 11 Pro and am thrilled it’s got the battery capacity to be my little main phone.

I got my little Pixel 2 Snowball all updated to Android 10 last night and it’s looking good except I can’t get the GBoard to come up on this forum or in email or in the Google and Samsung Browsers so I can’t interact with anything. So now I have to figure that out. I was thinking of taking the sim out of my Note 10+ and putting it back in Snowball to see how I’d like to run this sort of 2 small phones and big home based Note combo. For the Pixels, my heart is set on the smaller Pixel 4. Lol, so is my budget!

When I first turned Snowball on the display looked nice and white and I was pleasantly surprised. But the pink is coming back. I don’t know what causes that, but that was not Samsung’s best year for displays.

I’d argue they are hardly the only company that does that these days.
In the tech world, when it comes to phones, they are notorious for it. Much more so than their competition. Samsung rolls out the occasional beta device like the Fold but not an annual device like the Pixel. Google QC is still a major problem. Not just with hardware, with software as well.

I've never seen anything like that in the US. I have several banking and credit card apps, and with my S8 and fingerprint authentication there is no additional code required for anything. Do you have two-factor authentication enabled, or are you saying that all of your banking apps just require that by default in the UK?

In the UK if you have fingerprint authentication enabled for your banking app then that is sufficient to login in.

If biometric options aren’t enabled then the 2 step process is applied, the 1st being the password and the 2nd step being random digits requested from a registered memorable word. Well, that’s how it is in my banking app.

There are people at r/Pixel who need to RMA their 4/4 XL already. The same happened with the 3/3 XL; phones needed to be replaced on day one. It’s astonishing. I just don’t see this level of QC issues with other Android devices. At least I don’t see it on Reddit. I’ve never had any issues with any of my iPhones. It makes me scared to get a Pixel. The chances of me getting a bad device is probably low, but I read about people needing to RMA their device 5+ times months into owning it and it makes me apprehensive.

Google has a leadership problem. The company needs a stronger CEO. How can Sundar allow the Pixel line to be this bad? With the money Google has, they could make an impeccable phone and open up Google stores across the world to make repairs and customer service hassle-free. If Google at least tried, it could eventually be a Pixel vs. iPhone world. But I don’t think Google cares. It’s frustrating.

How do you introduce Face Unlock and not demand that all banking apps and apps in general have the proper face authentication in place prior to the device’s release? Why aren’t most of the apps still not implementing the new (or hell, even old) Material Design language into their apps (or even in some of Google’s own damn apps)? After Google told developers they needed their app icon to be a square so that it can look nice with any icon style, why didn’t many of the developers listen? I see so many apps in white frames because of this and they look ugly. I just don’t get it. As a CEO, I would be furious. I wouldn’t stand for this BS.

i agree that Google's QC NEEDS to be better! But in reality......go to any new phone thread and you will see people with TONS of issues. There were a lot of people with defective iphones as well in every phone forum including Reddit and here on MR.

I didn’t deny that there weren’t issues with new phones by other manufacturers. I just said that there appears to be more issues with new Pixel devices in comparison.

What issues are they seeing? Just browsing forums haven't really come across anyone having to return yet, so curious. No issues with mine so far.

Face Unlock not registering faces (a few devices with this issue), a camera issue, a screen going completely pink (or maybe it was green; I don’t remember) after just an hour of use, and other screen issues. These were all posted at r/Pixel.
