Anyone gonna pick one up for Black Friday? I held onto my Pixel 7 to see what Black Friday offers from Google or maybe Best Buy.
If you time it right you should get the best trade in value like during pre order and the sale price assuming about $150 off the Pro line last year and maybe $100 off the Pixel 8.

Good luck!

I just cancelled the Ghost order ... I have a cheap protector and it's been solid haha
I'm trying not to switch back to my s23+ lol, mainly so I can see the screen whilst sat on my sofa, the auto brightness makes the screen very dim, so I raise the brightness, and it's dim again next time I unlock the phone. Only on the sofas weirdly

I’ve just had the Black Friday preview email from Google, I’m not sure about all the deals that will be available, however it says “Get £100 Google store credit when you buy Pixel 8”

Well, it’s farewell to my Pixel 8 Pro.
Sold this morning.

I did say I wasn’t going to sell it, as I paid so little for it with Google store credit and trade in etc, but I just can’t use two devices. It’s a no brainer for me.

I know I will miss it, but have thrown myself into the Apple ecosystem for the first time in ages. I picked up a SS S9 Apple Watch at the weekend and it’s great. I still love the Pixel Watch 2 and have kept that, plus my bands, as they’re going for so little due to everyone who got one free selling them on. So just makes sense and I like my band collection I have 😁.

Ultimately, the camera was an issue for me as I have mentioned, and I just prefer listening to music with my iPhone and AirPods. The Pixel is lacking in this area vs the competition massively, and it’s something I personally use the most with my smartphone so it’s important to me.

I’ll still be posting in here as you all know I love a Pixel, and who knows, I may end up with a cheap regular 8 deal so I can try dual running again and still get to wear that sweet sweet Pixel Watch 2 and my fancy bands from time to time. 😁

I considered the AirPod's Pro 2nd gen but I can't get over having white sticks hanging out of my ears. I have never used them so I can't say how they sound but those who have had both the AirPod's Pro and the Pixel Buds Pro's tend to like the Pixel Buds Pro's a little more. I personally dig the controls on the Pixel Buds. I now have three pairs, the OG Pixel Buds, Pixel Buds Series A and the Pixel Buds Pro.

As far as music goes, I prefer music on the Pixel's because of Revanced, YT Music. But these are all personal choices and no decision is wrong. Use what works best for you. As an iPhone and Pixel owner, Google's call screener is the reason why my iPhone isn't my daily driver. For me, Google's call screener is in a league of its own.

Interesting. I’m surprised anyone would say the pixel bud pro sound better than AirPod pros. Not my experience at all. And not something I’ve ever heard anyone say who has tried both. Unless they are just a casual music listener who can’t tell the difference 🙃. A bit like those people who claim they don’t see any difference between 60 and 120hz.

Googles call screener - I have never once used it. You guys must get a lot of unnecessary calls for that to even be beneficial then?
If I don’t use it, I won’t miss it. ☺️

The call screening functionality is great but like you, I don’t receive enough unknown calls to utilize the extra features vs. iPhone’s live voicemail.

That being said, I believe @Heat_Fan89 utilizes it in connection with calls for his business, a scenario where I think it would be imminently useful to help filter out spam/trash from genuine calls, especially at volume.

I think at times we are better off turning off auto brightness

I get enough spam calls to annoy me. How they get my number, I don't know.

Oh yeah, like between 250-300 calls per month. My number is listed as a business because it is.

Re: Pixel Buds Pro vs AirPod Pro
This guy is a pixel fan boy. So I take it with a HUGE pinch of salt. 😜. He was probably paid for the video.

That's possible but the Pixel Buds Pro's do sound really nice and Appleinsider also posted a review of the Pixel Buds Pro comparing them to the AirPods Pro and they were quite complimentary wrt the Pixel Buds Pro.

Yeah they’re fine. They’re good, even. But if you combine the AirPods with an iPhone and Apple Music with Dolby Atmos and the Buds Pro with any music play back app on the Pixel - the AirPods sound better. They do to me anyway.
Not dragging the Buds Pro, I like mine a lot. But Pixel has some way to go as even Samsung support Dolby Atmos now and music playback on my Z Flip 5 was on par with my iPhone.

@Technerd108 I went back to adaptive battery as mine tanked with it off ...most likely to do with my case usage but things are back to normal for me now ..
That is really interesting.

I am a very heavy user. At least 8 hours of SOT. I don't use cellular as much as WiFi.

But I don't just notice a slight difference. The battery life with adaptive battery off on my Pixel 8 Pro is just massively better.

Thank you for taking the time to test this out. I will be very interested to see what other people experience.

Maybe it is just my device??

I have 3 phones. I like to switch sometimes, but thanks to Apple, it’s a pain in the *ss to switch to a newer iPhone. I haven’t been tempted yet to switch my sim from Pixel 8 pro to S23 ultra. The iPhone 15 is out of the question. I think I might sell the iPhone 15.
I am curious what you like better about the Pixel 8 Pro or s23 ultra over the iPhone 15?

Just curious. What specific model of iPhone 15 do you have?

Is the hardware better, is the software better, battery life, performance, cameras, etc on the Pixel/s23u?

Interesting to hear your experience and thoughts.

Most welcomed. I'm curious as well. It could be mixed results.
