Battery life was nowhere near my 15 plus, and I hardly take photos ever.
Now see that wasn't so hard? Giving a couple of valid reasons for a preference is good thing to include when making rather generalized and blanket statements.

Of course the plus is the battery king for Apple but I bet if you kicked the display too full HD resolution on the Android phone it would have been a lot better.

The AI feels gimmicky? Really? Call screening unknown calls is a gimmick? I use it almost every day and the minute I use an IPhone and get a ad call I miss that gimmick. Photo editing and processing that before was only possible in something like Adobe suit is a gimmick? Speech to text, Android assistant that actually works and can allow you to use your phone hands free including creating texts, emails, etc.

No I don't think you actually have any idea of what you are talking about or are purposely misleading people to have a bit of fun. Either way you are wrong in my opinion.

But your opinions are your own and no problem. Just stay on Apple side of things from now on and you will be fine. You can argue why the 15 plus is better than the Pro or Pro Max or whatever else...

Android. AI feels like a gimmick, and iOS apps have a certain level of polish that I’m used to. The hardware was fine, but that’s not really what I use a phone for.
Fair enough, but $900 for a phone with a 60hz refresh rate, slow USB, and no always on display? If you enjoy the phone that's all that matters. Get ready for even more AI "gimmicks" with iOS 18. Every company is going all-in on AI, Apple spent north of $1 billion this past year on AI.

The 15 Plus is the worse priced smartphone out there, with its outdated specs and lacking features. $900 wow !!!!! In the Android world that phone would be like $499.

And don't tell me the price premium is worth it, because of iOS over Android. That's just the Apple reality distortion field they brainwash their customers with LOL.

And A. I. is in all smartphones already, and iOS 18 is diving BIG into AI.

It really is a terrible value, but people are buying it. I'd bet money that Apple will put the new AI into iOS 18 and also place some exclusive features in the iPhone 16 series, they need reasons for people to upgrade. Suddenly (inexplicably) the amazing neural engines in recent iPhones will become trash once the 16 Pro launches. 😅

And my dumb--- will likely still buy the 16PM at the end of the day, haha.

Guess we value different features.

Don’t care about the 120hz display, it doesn’t improve my experience.

I only plug my phone in to charge, nothing else, no need for fast USB.

I have no use for an always on display.

And I’m not saying AI is a gimmick. I’m saying the way it’s being used on Android feels like a gimmick, especially for my use case.

In my day to day work, I’m up to my ears in AI systems, so I know the value of it.

It’s about the integration. Everything just works with my workflow and I save more time by using Apple products instead of having to muck around with my OS and 3rd party apps.

Not saying Android is bad, it’s just not for me (and I’ve played with nearly every version of Android since v1)

I thought this was alternatives to iOS sub forum? Just cause the site is Macrumors doesn't mean that only thing that is discussed is Apple products otherwise this subforum would not exist.

I never told you to leave Macrumors just some friendly advice of a part you might feel more comfortable in since Pixel is so inferior to iPhone.

The 15 Plus will have better battery life because it has a 60hz screen. I also don’t think a day is enough time to test the battery at all. If the 15 Plus works for you, that’s great.
I’m heavy in the Apple ecosystem, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad Pro, MacBook Air, AirPods Pro, HomePod, Apple Watch and Apple One services (Apple TV+ Music, Fitness+) so I’m certainly not going to judge on the Apple front, I’d be the biggest hypocrite on here if i did 😂. I do like to try new devices tho from time to time, it keeps things fresh i think.

Google apps are polished it’s some of the third party app are led polished I find on Android compared to iOS. I wish Google would enforce stricter rules on third party apps design wise.

So how is Apple using it presently? What make their use better on IOS? Because right now I see very little front line use of AI on IOS that improves or adds feature to the customer user experience.

It is funny how IOS users come into this section and downplay Android features.... that they don't use them or are not useful to them.....until Apple brings the same features to IOS then they find them life changing and essential.

I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem at the moment and I would say they are easily at the back of the pack in terms of AI integration in their product lineup. And unless they’ve done a great job at keeping wraps on it, they don’t seem to have anything particularly big incoming in that regard. Meanwhile, we know Microsoft is partnered with ChatGPT and Microsoft is tight with Samsung. We also know Google are pushing hard with Bard and I’m sure that’ll be integrated into the Pixel lineup soon.

I said previously that slab phones at reached their peak and really had no where else to improve and that foldables were the next iteration but I may have been wrong. Phones with AI integrated into the assistant and OS could be a game changer. On that front, Samsung and Google seem to have a big head start on Apple.

Anyone think the Pixel Watch 2 is better than Samsungs Watch 6?

I’m just not getting along with the fitness features and was wondering if the Pixel Watch 2 is better? Especially if mixed with the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro

Couldn't tell you sorry as never owned a Samsung smart watch. Well, I owned one years and years ago but can't even remember it much now.

All I'll say is, if you're looking for a good alternative to the Apple Watch you won't find it from Samsung or Google, IMO. Samsung's Watch is supposedly better than the Pixel Watch 2, which wouldn't be difficult as it really leaves a lot to be desired.
I like it and I wear it because it's very non intrusive for me with it being small and I have a nice selection of official watch bands. But would I ever recommend one? No, unless it's free. And even then, most would just sell it on and I don't blame them.
I also don't use any fitness features with it as it links with the Fitbit app which I personally find to be a massive pain in the a*se. But I also find all the fitness features on the apple watch a PITA too and never use them. Don't need the watch to tell me I've worked out. No sh*t. 🤣

4 months with my Pixel 8 Pro, and I'm just very comfortable and satisfied with this phone. I like the simplicity and buttery smooth UI. No bloatware and everything just works.

I'm still contemplating on picking up a s24 ultra. I haven't been on a Samsung phone since the S8+ but I've had every pixel Pro phone since they came out.

I’m honestly thinking about returning my S24 Ultra and trying the Pixel 8 Pro. I hear it’s not as in your face when it comes to things like settings, optimisation and customisation settings.

The camera needs a software update because it over sharpens images. Samsung should have stuck with the 10x on the zoom camera instead of the 5x.

You should give the P8P a try. it is a great phone. Preferably try the s24U and P8P side by side so you can see which brand of Android you prefer.
Both are great phones and provide great user experiences.
