Guess I'm lucky, we're not an iPhone family, thank the Lord LOL

My Wife has the Pixel 5a, and doesn't care what phone she uses, as long as it works
15 yr old daughter has the Pixel 6 and hates the iPhone
13 yr old son has the Pixel 5, and also hates the iPhone
I use the Pixel 7 Pro

My siblings, 1 out 3 has an Android, the other 2 iPhone's.
My co-workers and office are probably 60% Android / 40% iPhone.

Friends group are probably 50/50 iPhone/Android.

And I'm an American, and live in the States, and even my group is more Android than iPhone. Now if my direct family and friends were 75% or more iPhone, yeah I probably would switch and pick up a iPhone 15 Pro Max now. But with my family and friends circle being like 60% to 70% Android, there's zero point in switching, especially with RCS texting with Google Messages which works so well between us Pixel users.

Haha that's actually a real issue. I've noticed since switching to Android that I am constantly enticed by the Folds, the Pixels, etc. Apple might be more expensive in general, but being on Android can also get really expensive pretty quick!
Yeah, i'm here. I jump phones like every year. Just never happy with them. I did have a Nexus which i loved. A pixel 2 XL which was a terrible decision which turned me totally off to the Pixel line. Been on samsung for the last few years. This S22U is probably one of the worst phones I've used. It literally drove me away from Android as I'm moving to the 15PM.

Do you guys think the camera on the Pixel Pro 8 will be better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max? Even when it comes to zoom?

Uh, YES. Still photos and especially portrait mode the Pixel is king. Videos that's iPhone territory and they rule in that area.

Actually, using my 15 Pro Max right now and seriously considering that. Enjoying it more than I thought I would. Battery seems to be better than the 14 PM, and all of the bugs and stutters I experienced with the 14 PM are not present on the 15 PM. I still don't like iOS as much as Android but with almost all of my friends and family on it, it definitely is convenient. I know I'd never do it LOL, but the thought has been crossing my mind the last couple days.
I am really enjoying my 15PM......more than I thought I would as well. The rounded edges is surely welcomed over the sharp edges from the 14PM. I think the camera produces better quantity images than the 14PM as well. The titanium sides make it lighter in the hand. I love the new Air Drop feature to tap phones to share pictures with other IOS 17 users.
I could never just go all Apple...too many things I like about Android.

I don't really take many videos, only special occasions like family birthdays (usually my sisters kids birthdays) holidays and things like that. Pictures I take more of, I want the best camera in a smartphone I can get.

I'm planning on keeping my iPhone 14 Pro Max, at least until I can be sure that im settled in with the Pixel however that might take some time considering I use Apple Watch Ultra on a daily basis for working out and marathon training. If the Pixel watch can also be good for that then at some point I would possibly sell my Apple Watch Ultra.

The only issues I have is how locked in with the Apple ecosystem I am, I have Apple One as well which includes Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Fitness Plus which syncs up with my Apple Watch and iCloud 2TB storage. Moving over completely might be a BIG pain, so I may just keep the iPhone alongside the Pixel Pro 8 (if indeed I do take the plunge).

Apple One is really nice, well done for sure.

That is the difference for me between Apple & Android.

I'm using the 15 Pro Max, it's very slick; cameras & video superb, new action button useful & USB-C 4.0 speeds, apps are great etc. However it does feel more of the same we are used to with iOS, no real innovation or push forward from Apple. They're happy for everyone from young to old to be able to use them & keep everyone hooked into the ecosystem. It's been a great business strategy by Tim Cook but I'd now prefer to see Jony Ive or similar at the helm.
I get why people stick solely will Apple.

Google, on the other hand, has tried to push Android software forward with AI tech and features not seen with Apple. For sure, this makes Pixel phones really fun to use and once you use them it's difficult to go back. Voice dictation is unbelievable & a good example. As AI develops as it is, Apple could be left in the dust in terms of AI with Google at the forefront. Good to see them creating an overall ecosystem like Apple now. I'd just like to see Google focus more on hardware with improved Tensor chip (hoping G3 is much better), longer battery life, controlled heat thermalling & faster USB-C speeds. If they nail the Pixel 8 range in most areas I'd be looking forward to the Pixel Fold 2!

I used to previously be a serial upgrader with Android every 3 to 6 months. It's a real nasty (expensive!) habit I had back then that's tough to break! Lol

I'm looking forward to seeing the 5 x Telephoto comparisons between the 8 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Pixel is a camera beast whilst Apple has been on top of the video game for a few years now. I'd really love to see Google come much closer to Apple with video quality, that would be very exciting.

I look forward to seeing what they release, though goodness knows enough has leaked already! 🤣

I tried and failed with the 15 Pro Max due to my stupid migraines. I really do like the 15 Pro Max. My feelings on the subject are what @jamezr already expressed. If I could keep it, I definitely would. But I can’t so no sense mourning it.

Now instead I’m sending it back and have a petite 15 on order. Cute pink. I hope I can keep it. I’d just stay on my 12 Pro Max but it doesn’t do indoor low light cat pictures as well as the newer iPhones. And the connectivity is meh. Bluetooth range is less than I had with 14 Pro Max. AT&T service is not good on it as it was with the 14 Pro Max. I wasn’t upgrading just for the sake of a new shiny. I had reasons.

The zoom on the 15 Pro Max wasn’t anything to get excited about, though. It won’t cause me or my husband to leave the S23 Ultra home when we go somewhere interesting and picturesque.

But I’m not super enthusiastic about my run of the mill indoor family photos I’ve taken on the S23 Ultra. They’re okay but I often get better from my 7a and my iPhones. But outdoors when I’m trying to get photos of skittering sandpipers, it’s fantastic. The crazy zoom is great for that sort of subject. The quality isn’t perfect but it’s good enough like early days iPhone 7 photos maybe?

I hope I can use and keep the iPhone 15. It would be cool to team up the little pink iPhone with the big pink S23 Ultra.

Pixel wise I am probably staying put on the Coral 7a. I’m getting what I want from it. I might wait it out another generation to go Pro. What I would likely do is replace the S23 Ultra with a Pro size Pixel.

Because like a bunch of you, I’m starting to get fatigue with maintaining a double life of Samsung apps and Google apps that do basically the same thing. I’m just not ready to throw over my S23 Ultra yet.

The prospect of a free Pixel Watch 2 is interesting but I am more a fan of Apple Watch than I am of iPhone. I’d wear it for awhile and then put my Apple Watch back on.

Almost all my family and friends use iPhone but I don’t care, irrelevant to my phone of choice

As the way it should be.

iMessage to me is just another text app, nothing unique or special

FaceTime, same thing nothing great about it, there's plenty of other video chat apps.

I wouldn't let those 2 apps force me to stay on a platform. Heck no

I think I need to leave android, I think if I just go back to Apple, I won’t be jumping on different phones all the time SMH like right now I wanna sell my fold and get ready for next week

My phone obsession I think has got worse

I’ve said to myself I won’t import another phone again. Not because it’s not great or the site wasn’t good but I know I can’t sell any android phones from china lol

I want to get the s24 ultra but I realise I can’t and shouldn’t spare from for camera comparisons the rrrurn it

iPhone
Pixel
Fold

That’s all I want and need. Even then it’s still 3 phones !

Yeah can still do spilt screen on pixels and of course PIP

If Google allow it for pre-orders, i will get 15% off with my dads military discount (Defence discount card) that may be worth it especially if Google throw in the Pixel Watch 2. Meaning if Google increase price of the 8 Pto to £999 i can get it for around £810 with the 15% discount.
