No way. It happened AGAIN. Google themselves leaked the Pixel 8 Pro. You can see a full 360 degree view of the phone here, confirming the colors (Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky) as well as the components (like the temperature sensor).

I'm kind of digging the gray lol ..

Looking at the side profiles it seems they are going to a matte finish like the Pixel 4 XL had, and not the cheesy glossy sides anymore. That's a great move.

But that blue color, looks great on the back, but the sides, ugh no way, fugly. The matte black sides actually looks really nice, and so does that porcelain color, it seems almost titanium color and with the matte flat side color looks nice too.

I really hope those prices are wrong. I know both Samsung and Apple have, or in Apples case is rumored to, increased costs but they are established brands.

The Pixel 7 Pro launched at $899 in the U.S. last year, now Google's going to up the price almost 25% on the 8 Pro, and for what reason? It's just a minor upgrade over the 7 Pro. Typical year to year phone upgrade.

Best Buy regularly has the S23 Ultra on sale for $949. That or get the 8 Pro for $1,100?

If the leaker is correct then I’m out. I’m not paying iPhone Pro or S23 Ultra money for a phone that has hardware issues and loses its value faster than other brands.

I live with some cellular modem, battery, and heat issues because I know I paid less for the phone than other high end smartphones. It will be much more difficult to accept the flaws at the same cost as other true flagship phones.

If the 8 Pro's black color truly does have a matte black frame, meaning no more glossy / shinny sides, but matte black like the Pixel 4 XL had, then I will go black, and slap an orange dbrand skin on the back, to make it truly like the 'Oh So Orange' color from the 4 XL.

I also had the Panda 4 XL, and loved that phone. The matte black sides / frame and the frosted color on the back was the best.
