Back to trying the Pixel 8, yeah it is a cool small phone, but for me just too small, feels scrunched up like a toy phone almost.

And the hardware is just nicer on the Pro, especially the display tech.
I get it, the regular Pixel 8 can feel a bit small for some. The Pro's got that larger screen and better hardware, especially the display. It's all about finding what suits you best!

The thing that Google keep doing that’s unforgivable to me is they insist on using old modems on the Pixels. There has to be a reason behind it because it’s not like it’s a huge money save. With how awful the Pixel 6 lineup signals were, you think they would right that by making sure future models have a modern modem but nope, they insist on using an inferior one. Is it good enough? I guess you could make that argument but for something so important on a $1k phone, good enough isn’t good enough.
I'm not sure of the modem used in the 8 Pro but in my brief use it has been much better than the one in the 7 Pro and Fold. No, it's not a Qualcomm modem on the level with the X70 but it has not been bad at all in my opinion.

That's the same thing I'm experiencing...better than my previous P7P and current Fold ..I'm actually debating if I need the PF and maybe look to swap it out for a different complementary phone or OnePlus Open ..just thoughts

i haven't noticed any signal difference between my 15PM and S23U and P8P. This includes WiFi and cellular.
To me this is a non issue. I am sure those of us that have the device have not noticed anything.

LOL I'm in the same boat. I'm not looking toward the OnePlus Open or anything but I like the P8P and 15PM so much that I'm considering selling off my Fold and other devices. I actually used my S23U as a trade on the P8P thinking I'd upgrade to the S24U when it comes out, but it will have to really impress me for me to pull the trigger.

I'm in a good place right now with the 15PM and P8P agreed ...I've been using the Fold around the house some since the new arrival and I'd rather keep one foldable part of the rotation so we shall see ..

$999 for a poorly managed thermal system that just freezes is horrible. The video proof he shows of pure lag and hang up on the Pixel 8 Pro would never happen on an iPhone or Samsung or any flagship using A series chip or Snapdragon.

My iPhone literally dims the screen when I go on my daily walk. It also overheats when using as a launch monitor if the temps outside are above 80. This is not just a Google problem IMO.

Seems Google using E7 panel to get this level of brightness

S24 series will be 2500. And one plus open 2800 mad how bright phones are getting
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me around this time next year we will be heading into 3000 nits of brightness on the phones, similarly to Apple's Ultra Watch 2.

I remember the older Nexus phones that were very dim in bright sunlight. It's literally night & day with the latest screens!

LOL its funny to me how the person you are replying to ignores the numerous iPhone 15 overheating claims. I went back and looked at their post history since they registered in September and an overwhelming majority is posts just slamming the Pixel 8/Pro when they don't even have one. I'm almost certain this poster is a previously banned poster who pulled similar shenanigans on this subforum before. I put them on ignore. Better to just not respond to the continued negative posts.

That's enough positive reviews on here for me to put an order in for a Mous case! I thought it was maybe too bulky vs the official cases but it looks classy.
It's very slim. I agree with @Bkdodger it can get a little slick at times as can most silicon cases, but the fit is perfect IMO and the magnet is very strong. I use it on my Belkin Boostcharge Pro at night and it has a very strong hold.

I read on Twitter that someone was recommending an app called Wavelet to use with the Pixel Buds Pro (or any other headphones) to boost the sound of your music playback and essentially make it better.

I was a bit dubious, but wow. It makes a huge difference!
There's an auto EQ mode that you just click and boom, better sound quality!

All I did was download the app, open it, press the power button in the app and when you start to play music through whichever app you choose it recognizes and gives you the option to change up some settings.

I just toggled AutoEQ on and couldn't believe the difference. 👍🏻

It's one of the first apps I install on new phones. It's fantastic!

Brilliant information! I've got Buds Pro arriving but was worried about audio quality through them. I'll download Wavelet as one of the first apps.

Bit of news I read today; according to Google's VP of engineering, Dave Burke, both Pixel phones will shortly receive lossless audio over USB. Google are starting with the Pixel then plans for expansion to other Android devices.
I'm not a major audiophile but hopefully this will be a game changer & we can expect pristine music playback, provided app developers support the new API.
