I have the official Google case on mine. I know it's a bit bulky, but I've already dropped the phone on concrete, and it thankfully saved my phone with minimal marking on the case itself. Also, I really love the shiny "G" on the back of the case.

I'm tempted by the Mous case, but I am such a klutz.
It's very slim AF don't do it...

How to turn off 5G on the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro (androidauthority.com)

In case anyone wants to turn off 5G. The article is for the 7, but it still applies to the 8.

There is another way to turn off 5G in the SIM settings, but some providers block that option. I am on AT&T and they block it. So in cases like that, you can use the service code like in the above link to disable it.

Thanks for the tip. I'm on a "flanker" carrier here which does not even offer me 5g, so why potentially use extra battery with the 5g setting on?

Receiving my Pixel 8 today and need some advice on the best way to transfer all my data from my iPhone. I have been a long time iPhone user and my whole family has iPhones as well. Want to make sure that I transfer over everything correctly and also get an understanding how text will work since I have many group texts with iPhone users. Any advice?

Anybody having issues with media attachments not going through over RCS with the P8P? It will hang up and say "message delivers when {insert name} is online". I've noticed this occasionally on other devices but it tends to do it all the time on this one.

I just received this case from Amazon and it's gorgeous. That's if you're like me that prefers wallet cases. This particular case is PU leather. A nice feature of this case is that you can remove the phone from the wallet case so it becomes a slimmed down case without the need to carry CC's or cash.

If you search this forum you will find posts giving detailed instructions on what to do when you switch from iOS to Android.

Google has in the phone setup software to help you transfer your data.

You are going to go through a learning curve until you get used to a different way of using the phone. It isn't too bad and in some ways Android is more intuitive than iOS and will be easier to learn.

You will have to de register your phone number from your Apple ID and account. Otherwise you will have texting issues.

It is good to alternate operating systems every so often.

Good luck!

I have both and while the Pixel 8 Pro battery life is improved over the 7 Pro, I'm finding the 15 PM to have much better battery life. I probably get a couple hours more screen on time over a charge cycle
Yup yup. Same.
But the Pixel 8 Pro battery is sooo much better than the 7 Pro. Like I'm shocked by how much of an improvement I've seen.
