Mrwhoosetheboss posted a very critical review of the iPad Pro M4, let’s see if Apple invites him to the iPhone event or gives review units to him.
If he has a high subscriber base and views per video, I have no doubt Apple will look the other way. It's the same with Marques who at times has been lukewarm or at times critical on Apple devices but he always seems to get an invite. He also has a high subscriber base and typically generates several million views with 24 hrs.

So did Jon Rettinger, but Apple blacklisted him after he said negative things about the iPhone XR.
I personally don't care much for Jon Rettinger or MrWhoseTheBoss and avoid their videos. MKBHD videos on the other hand almost always gets a view from me. I'm sure I'm not alone and could be why MKBHD gets a pass from Apple.

I thought Jon was a big iPhone guy? His videos seemed like an infomerical for Apple. And MrWhosTheBoss was super cringe crazy, never got how he was so popular, seems like a spazz whacko that can't sit still and be serious for even one second.

I seen that. It’s a good video. But let’s see if they treat Arun the same way. Only a few more weeks.

Wow how have I not scene this video before?

Yep, and this just reaffirms why I don't own an iPhone and haven't in years and most likely never will. F crApple, they're all about image and PR and marketing, and not making a great smartphone. Siri? LOL. Or Apple taking a decade to add much needed features, where it should be done in one or two years. Overall iOS still feels like something stuck in 2015. I will admit though, Apple designs and creates the best hardware. #1. But I will say Samsung Galaxy Ultra phones and newer Pixel Pro phones are catching up.

But whatever, it's the Pixel 9 release time.

However, it’s no secret that the iPhone is basically Apple’s core business and not the iPad, Macs or their other services.. They are super protective of that product as it is a company that basically relies on one product. If the iPhone went away, Apple would instatmtly be in a world of hurt.

The iPhone is to Apple what the PlayStation is to Sony.

Bit of a dramatic take but it’s not like this is new? It’s normal in the PC world like PC OEMs want you to say good things if they send their products in. It’s a basically a paid ad.

Many Apple content creators were critical of Apple: Dave2D, Joanna from Wall Street journal, MKBHD and John Gruber ( big Apple blogger) and yet Apple sends these people review units. This is why I’m curious as to what Apple will do with Arun.

Also the comment about Apple maintaining their image and PR and whatnot, isn’t that what Google’s PR agency did with Arun? Blacklisted him because he was ‘ruined’ the Pixel image.

Anyway, this is why you should always avoid the company seeded reviews as truth. Treat them like ads.

Got a stock alert from Best Buy that the 9 Pro XL 256gb Hazel was available so I decided to pre-order and take advantage of the $999 S24+ trade in. With the $200 in BB credit and $55 back in rewards with my BB card I couldn't pass it up. After all is said and done taking into account all the credit, it costs $25 👍.

I do wonder where the Pixel 9 sits. Google has a habit of bringing 99% of the AI features to older phones; if we remove these beyond a different design what would make somebody buy one over the 8? Its kinda like the S24 Ultra which despite some YouTubers opinions is still 95% the S23U. available at much lower prices.

Not that iPhones don't have incremental updates but the lack of RAM in older models has meant that the iPhone 16 at the very least offers baked in Apple Intelligence. Shame you need to double the length if your index finger to use the new capture button.

To be fair, replace ‘Apple’ with any other large company in the technosphere and the behavior/reaction towards these ‘content creators’ would be exactly the same.

And I’m not saying it’s justified…not at all, pretty ****** behavior all around. But don‘t put Apple in this bin believing they’re the only culprit. The screenshot from Google on the previous page just sadly reaffirms this ****** behavior is not uncommon.

I'm a mess. I keep going back and forth between the P9PF and P9PXL. Canceled my order for the XL and ordered the Fold. Still not sure. May have to get both and part with my S24U 😆
Well....canceled the Fold order and went back to the P9PXL.

I love the OP Open so much not sure I can move on from it till the OP Open 2 or whatever they will call it. That battery life and ridiculously fast charging really has me spoiled. I'll wait for the reviews of the P9PF and see if I bite then. I think I'd rather have the better Pixel camera experience to try out all of this fun new AI stuff with and the P9PXL is just a slick looking device.

I really want to give P9 a chance but I don’t trust Google one bit. In privacy, in my data, stuff lying around in cloud..
As we have recently learned, privacy does not exist in this digital world. Inside the Google app you can turn off all of the stuff you don't want Google to know. It's in the settings of the Google app.

I think you made the right choice. You have a foldable why go two? I would not go P9PF and ZF6 just rather have the XL ..foldable kinda works as my iPad / Phone which I don’t have iPads now

Nokia_3310_Blue_R7309170_(retouch).png

I found you the perfect phone.

Apple plays this privacy ad campaign perfectly and uses it to make people blindly trust them and switch to iPhone. But they data mine just as google, facebook, etc (facebook is the worst btw). I'm not going around committing crimes so I'm not worried in the slightest. I have nothing to hide. We live in a connected world now. I could go out to my land in west texas and live off the grid if I wanted I suppose, but why?

I use all of my android phones the same way I do my iPhones. I use my personal banking, investing apps, even sensitive company information on my phone, even some hot pictures of my significant other that are for my eyes only 😆. I've never once had an issue and am not worried one bit. I do lock my phone down and I do change all my account passwords frequently. I have zero concerns with Google. My biggest concern is about all of the data breaches with these other companies that have our info (T-Mobile, AT&T, or this National Public Data company that just had a huge breach).

I don't think anyone said any different to be honest here. It was just pointed out some of the stuff Apple has done in the past and has more visibility because it is Apple.
But as you said...this applies to every company.

don't be so defensive about Apple.....all companies do this to content creators. Unless the content creator is so big that they cannot afford to cut them out because of the public perception and backlash it will create.
MBKHD and a few other are in this category. Even if they have said some negative things about Apple products...they will still get products to review and invites to Apple events. This all about public perception with their brand.

I checked out the ZF6 while at BB scoping the P9P XL.
Man what a nice foldable.....Samsung really refined the Fold 6.
Refined is the perfect word to describe it. Doesn't feel a ton different than the ZF4 when I had it, but little tweaks here and there have made it a much nicer device. I wish OP phones were on display here in stores. The OP Open is the nicest in my opinion and its not even that close. The outer screen size, the thin and compact feeling and how it fits in my pocket, the almost non existent crease. They really nailed it and I can see why Google modeled the new Pixel Fold off of that. Hoping Samsung comes out and wows us in a big way with the ZF7. Others have created the blueprint for the hardware. Samsung has the software and S-Pen. Put it together and that would be a beast of a device.
