First impressions are that I love it, feels premium, all my photos and messages have moved across properly, just waiting on the apps and whatsapp now. A great experience so far and feels a step ahead compared to the iphone
Great to hear it on first impression ...can't wait to run it though the paces

Let us know about the battery life in a week or so. I know it will be hard coming from a iPhone 14 series battery life to anything else but I'm curious to know, is it something you definitely notice after a week.

Once you get into the Google app and your signed in.. any photos that are backed up should start populating automatically into your account photos..

Cool, they are locally on my pixel 6 and the cloud, so i figured i would keep my fold locally empty, and ser the pics in the cloud. I guess i woulnt pic Photos when it asks what I want to transfer over

It's going well so far. The crease is very noticeable but I'm sure I would get used to it. What I don't like is that it takes ages for Google photos to properly show thumbnails of my images. Everything is just a blurry mess but hoping that'll change after a few days? Too early to tell with battery life. The device also runs hot but guessing it's doing lots of things in the background as it's new.

The tiniest bit of something got in there, and when I closed the display, the pressure of the other display side was enough to puncture the OLED panel. It didn't see or feel anything when closing the device, but the display pixels started freaking out. After going over the device with a magnifying glass, I think I found where the puncture was.

Come on, Google! Smh.
And it begins...don't get anything trapped because your screen would end up like this...I just knew this would be a problem with the way Google placed the screen protector on the device. Users are starting to report this is happening to their Fold.

Well I am sure you are right about it doing a lot in the background. Give it time to settle down. BUT my experience with Tensor G2 is it can run a bit toasty. I still think it is a good chip.

Enjoy your new phone. These new owner pics are looking pretty good. The UI unfolded looks pretty sweet.

Watching this closely myself. 4 hours SOT doesn’t work for me. I need at least 6 to not cancel. I get hundreds of work emails a day so I’m worried about the standby drain.

Honestly the biggest draw back to foldable phones is battery life. The Pixel 7 Pro is not even the best in terms of battery and the problem is you have two screens and one of them is much bigger than the Pixel 7 Pro with a smaller battery capacity.

If you want really good battery life and a flagship experience the Samsung s23 Ultra is still the best.

With all that being said there are a ton of variables here. Screen brightness, cell reception, websites, resolution, etc.

I am sure some people will get really good battery life and others will be upset.

Google says over 24 hours 😂 Lol.

This is why I am waiting for the Pixel 8 Pro because the Tensor G3 could fix the thermal and efficiency issues with the G2. If they use ufs 4.0 that will also help and maybe a newer gen screen.

OnePlus Fold and Fold5 said hello and will see you in a few weeks. Lol. Both of them will have Snap 2 so you know the battery life is about to be sickening. The battery life on my OnePlus 11 is insane and that charging...wow. I'm a tad bit spoiled at how quick it charges.

I am glad you enjoy your OnePlus devices.

Yeah I am not a big fan of fast charging. They always heat up the battery which isn't good for lithium ion batteries.

I will take Pixel UI or OneUI 5 over oxygen OS or Color OS any day. Hardware is great but it is nothing without good software.

Of course it doesn't matter to me because I am not buying any fold phone any time soon. I just shutter at a plastic screen. I am interested on how Google pulls off and implements the UI in the Pixel phone though. I think they will do a better job than anyone else and since you know, Google makes Android, their experience in making a foldable phone should benefit all OEM'S going forward.
