Great pics. I need to get to a game at Citi Field. The Rangers actually play there tonight and I was hoping to get there this year to see this series but my crazy schedule with the kids' sports didn't allow for it. BTW, thank you to the mets for gifting us Scherzer.

Those pizzas is your other post look fantastic. I have that exact same oven and love it. I'm still on a keto kick but I enjoy cooking some pizzas for the family and I'll make me a crustless pizza in it from time to time. Can't recommend that oven enough.

You're most welcomed ..I liked watching him perform though sometimes like the team we didn't get results but he's a gamer . what a crappy year for Mets and my Yankees smh ..can't wait for football...

How long do you do the keto? I've done it in the past but for a few weeks at a clip ..I need my rice and beans lol and pizza ...I will sometimes intermittently fast ...

Yeah that oven is excellent my friend loves to cook and make all kinds of stuff around so we get spoiled with food

He's been excellent here with the exception of the one start vs. Milwaukee. Hoping they can get an extension with him for a couple more seasons beyond next year. I hear you, being a Dallas sports fan things have been rough for a while for the most part. But with the Rangers making an unexpected leap this year, the Stars having an excellent core, and Luka with the Mavs we potentially have some bright seasons ahead for those teams. Never know what we will get from the Cowboys so I don't have much to say there lol. I'm still heartbroken over the 2011 World Series. I was at the game 6 in St. Louis where we choked it away multiple times. The only thing that will help me recover from that is a World Series win which has eluded the club their entire 51 year history in Texas.

Keto has been great for me. I've been on it nearly a year now. I added intermittent fasting late last year and it really helped boost the weight loss. I am 6'-3" tall and was around 340 when I started and I'm down in the 270's now. I still get my pizza and tex-mex along with low carb beer or liquors or wine. I'll take a cheat day most weekends but come Monday I get back on track. Even when I cheat I try to limit my portions and make somewhat sensible choices and I make sure to squeeze in some cardio to try to at least offset some of it.

Pixel fold related because I take sports pics with my Pixel Fold and now have room to fit my Pixel Fold in my jean pockets 😆

Hopefully he keeps pitching excellent for you guys and brings home a World Series.. I'm rooting.. get some new blood in there winning a championship this year... Most certainly have a few good teams to root for in Texas... Dallas I think it's going to step up also and I can't believe they picked up what I think is a nice backup quarterback for nothing...

Excellent job with the keto... That's the way to do it ..keep it going... That pixel couldn't be in better hands now ... You got plenty of quality games to take pics and also some good keto friendly food... I always did enjoy keto as the choices were excellent and not being hungry.... Most my pics are food anyway lol...

How’s the signal on the PF? That was one of my biggest issues with the 7 Pro. I thought I heard it improved slightly on the 8.

The tensor being underpowered is annoying but something I didnt tend to feel in day to day usage unless gaming or something like that. But the signal issues are what ultimately led to me selling it. Interested to hear if Google have made progress on that front.

Signal feels to be improved but not stellar. In day to day use the Tensor 2 never feels one bit underpowered and it seems much more efficient on Android 14 as far as battery goes. As far as signal and power the S23U is a power house and it's on another level but unless the PF is side by side with it, you would never know it didn't have a top of the line processor.

I'm a week in now and still really enjoying the Fold.
Having said that, there are still some issues that I keep stumbling across which cause some annoyances.
The newest one is when I am using the phone open but close the phone shut with a view to continue on the outside display and I can't ... because the phone locks when it shuts. I don't understand this at all. Why do we not have an option to keep the phone unlocked when you shut it?
Frustrating.

I also really don't like the lock button. Not sure if I've got a bit of a dud but it still feels mushy to me.

Another thing that I'm struggling with a bit is typing on both inner and outer display. In not hugely accurate on the outer display but not sure why as the keyboard is big enough. I do make lots of typos though. The inner display I'm slightly better with the split keyboard, but even that is still not foolproof. I do like using the inner display to type on slightly more though.

Another annoyance. When I press and hold on the home screen and choose a wallpaper I have already used (from the last 5 list it shows), it doesn't change it for the lock screen too. It only gives you the option to set both when you either choose a new wallpaper or you apply a photo from the photos app as a wallpaper.
So Google don't allow you to have two different set ups on home and lock screens but it does make you set different wallpapers for each? Ok.

I love the phone. I love that it's a folding Pixel. I love the camera. I started reading a book from Kindle last night and it was a great experience.
I have a feeling that when the Pixel 8 swings round I may be tempted depending on what changes from 7 to 8. I also always end up with new iPhone envy so will be keeping a close eye on that.
I'm not a multiple phone kinda guy. I have my iPhone 14 still (yellow) which I love so may end up swapping that out for 15 if there's enough change.

Yeah with the wallpaper I think that's just the way Google wants to go about doing it.. but yeah if you want to change the wallpaper it has you choose the different tabs for home screen and lock screen.. keyboard wise I've been pretty spot on with Gboard same as all my other phones I guess I'm kind of used to it I don't really have too many misses.. and it's actually more accurate when it's closed then previous fold since the screen is wider and keys not so cramped up.. I'm mostly using voice dictation like I am now when I'm home so that's less typing... Lol ... It would be nice to have the option to continue on the lock screen when you're into something but seems like Google is assuming you want to lock the phone.. so it's a bit annoying you have to hit the fingerprint sensor and then the app is there to continue on the outside screen... My power button seems okay to me actually better feeling for me than my flip 5 at least on when I hit to get in I have more misses on the Samsung phone that my Google Fold .. does not feel mushy..

Agree with the transition from inner to outer screen locking. The inconsistency is what confounded me for a bit, i.e. YouTube keeps playing on the outer screen without it locking but other apps behave as you mentioned.

I noticed another little quirk…when I launch a specific game from the inner display, it doesn’t scale properly, leaves part of it hidden behind a fixed, solid menu bar at top. However, if I open it on the outer screen first, then open to the inner screen, it scales properly with the hiding, translucent menu bar as expected.

I’m also noticing tap accuracy on the inner screen is a bit off. Sometimes, it’s recognizing a tap target below where I am actually tapping, especially in YouTube.

Visually, the crease doesn’t bother me too much but it does take me out of the moment when I run my finger over it. Inner display also suffers from a ton of glare.

Not specific to the Fold but the password autofill functionality is still much better on iPhone/iPad. It often takes quite a few seconds for autofill suggestions to appear, if they even do at all. Was logging into a site a short while ago, took a few seconds for it to suggest anything in the ID field and then suggested the wrong autofill password (other entries that didn’t match the ID I just selected) and when I tried to back out of 1Password, it just didn’t make any suggestions for either field any longer, even after I refreshed the page. Having 1Password as an extension always available at a touch in Safari is so much more seamless, even though I rarely need to jump to it because the natural suggestion and autofill functionality works so much more reliably in iOS.

Like @Bkdodger, my lock button is very clicky and responsive–-suspect you may have a lemon.

All-in-all I’m liking the Pixel Fold experience. My biggest gripes are the oft mentioned app situation on the inner display, password autofill and the quality of the inner display. I also wish it was taller.

Ahh..I foresee a warranty claim in your near future. Did you purchase the accidental damage protection as well?
Yep, I did, it's honestly not a big deal. So I might not do anything about it now. But if I do, curious if it's a fix in store kinda thing or a replace your phone.

One is a scratch, but the other is like some sort of peeling close to the hinge

The lock button is just one of them things I guess. I can live with it.
I've noticed apps behaving strangely similar to your experience. Apple Music is the biggest one. Sometimes it opens on the inner screen as full screen, and practically looks like it has been made for Fold. But other times, nope.

Also in other news. I've just taken my official case off and noticed I have a scratch (well, multiple scratches) on one small patch of the front bezel. I am FURIOUS. It's so blatantly obvious every time I look at the phone.

It was not there an hour ago as I was using the phone case-less at my desk in work and then I went to the coffee shop, came back and it's scratched. Will take a photo when I'm home but I am fuming!!

Do you think something got under the case when you put it on to go to the coffee shop?

I think it must have done :(.
I wouldn't mind if it was on the back or side it's the fact it's the front!!
Serves me right taking the case on and off 😢
