Got round to taking some photos at last.
This is the damage. Bit difficult to show as taken on an iPhone 14 with no macro mode 🙄.

It doesn’t look like much, but the light hits it ALL the time and is just so obvious to me.

I'm sure using it OCD kicks in and would bother me too though like you said it doesn't look so bad from uploaded pics..

Using it at home isn't so bad.
But in the office, where it's so bright it's way more obvious.

Also, could just be me, but has TikTok updates for Fold?
I don't use the app (awful) but I have it as my mate sends me them all the time so I purely have it just to open what she sends.

And today it went full screen. Looked good! If you're into TikTok.

Oh no, that would bother me too. Just got to move past it I guess, that’s the problem with high polished finishes.

The battery on my Fold has been terrible the last few days.
Also, it is getting VERY hot on the back really easily with little apps open.

I'm currently on 33 percent battery with 3 hours screen on time. Which is not good at all.

Do you think maybe an app is causing it ..are you in normal areas as usual ? No changes ?

You won't find any foldable that has dust resistant and nobody but Z fold has water resistant and I doubt the pixel fold will either

You are most likely right. As someone who frequents the beach in the summer, I can't imagine myself getting a smartphone without dust resistance.

Agreed. Although no official dust / sand resistance checking out JerryRigEverything's YouTube channel the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 held up quick stellar to a hefty helping of sand and folds holding the serving quite well. Fully functioning. Ingress was extremely minimal. There is a another similar test as well done yet cannot recall.

Z Fold 5 I'm waiting for a similar challenge.

However yes IP rating for dust & water resistance will be the true test or show of the screen & hinge evolution.

What's the reasoning behind the apps that choose to keep the external display on (and the phone unlocked) when you close the phone?

YouTube doesn't stay open when I close. But Instagram does? And Instagram appears to be the only app that keeps the phone unlocked when shut and moves to the outside screen.
Is there any rhyme or reason to this stuff? Like a list of apps that should keep the phone unlocked?

There's definitely no rhyme or reason.. but if I have a YouTube video running it will continue on the outer screen... But if I have YouTube open but not a video running the phone locks.. I'm thinking we need a software update for the open close..

So frustrating.
See this is why I don't love the idea of using this thing long term. I absolutely love the hardware, but I have major concerns with google updating the device for scenarios like this. And they absolutely need to.

Google doesn't let you decide which apps will stay open and on when you close the phone? Samsung has a setting that allows you to assign apps that will continue on the cover screen when you close it up, which I love.

It's definitely frustrating... I love a lot of things about this phone but we need software updates for functionality big time..

Exactly 100% loved the samsung options... This is why they can't be beat when it comes to UI customizations and options..

Haha. Not trying to start a war, I promise! I am surprised that's not something Google implemented.l though. Seems like a standard feature you'd want for a foldable.
Totally agree.
This is Google, though. So not surprised! 😔

Oooo in other news, my 7 Pro was accepted for trade in for the full value.
So just over £900 for the Fold in total without the 10% back (£130) to my Google store account. 😁

Agreed ....if we could just mash them phones together into one Google Samsung Ultra
