That's the thing right there we need to get Google to push foldable development... Software needs to improve overall for everyone for better running apps most definitely
The bezels remind me a little bit of when I got the 4XL and we were all complaining about the top portion being weird but it served it's good purpose and I think Google didn't want to go with the punch hole or under the screen camera.. and lose out on the camera..
You may be right and if true then no chance for me. For people who get a lot of emails a day, the F4 is unacceptable. It was getting 4.5 SOT new and requires a charge at least once a day. Lots of people claim high SOT but they get that watching Netflix. Not actually using the phone for work with emails and phone calls. If the Pixel can’t beat Samsung in the battery department it’s a nonstarter for me. I need a phone to last me a typical day at work. So that’s a shame. I guess we will see.Not the highe
Not a chance that the battery life would be good. Will probably be the common complaint, together with the bezels. The G2 SoC is inferior to the Snapdragon Gen 2, except for the custom tensor cores. The phone design is otherwise on the right track.
Wow. What a great teaser.Pixel Fold is nearly here - Google Store
The first foldable phone engineered by Google is nearly here. Come back on May 10 and learn more about Pixel Fold at Google I/O.store.google.com
Yeah, I stood in line for the 6 Plus (waited overnight lol)... I was like the first 10 to 20 people to have gotten it.Wow. What a great teaser.
Can't remember the last time I was this excited for a phone to be announced. Probably not since iPhone 6/6 Plus with the larger screens.

Haha we have no willpower around these parts ...Argh.
Must....stay....strong
Verizon told me they will offer $1000 off if you open a new line with them. Probably the same or similar offer if you do a trade-in deal. AT&T I imagine will offer the same deal. T-MO a slightly worse deal.Kind of a bummer that the launch date is nearly 7 weeks after the reveal. Kind of a strange way to release a new product. Also, not a fan of the Google exclusive window through May 30. Carrier deals should be available at the same time and presumably will be more attractive than a free watch. Seems like a decidedly consumer unfriendly launch strategy. I guess Google can lock in (take advantage of) early adopters.
No. You are better off buying a cheap used Android device on Swappa, like the Galaxy S9, and using that for your trade in/new service offer. Sell your P7P locally or on Swappa.Man I gotta say is really has me excited. I might trade in my P7P on this and open a new line of service with Verizon. I wonder if they will combine trade allowance with the new line of service bonus?
Oh that is great advice! Thank youNo. You are better off buying a cheap used Android device on Swappa, like the Galaxy S9, and using that for your trade in/new service offer. Sell your P7P locally or on Swappa.
Such a liar😎Really been looking forward to the Pixel Fold but if it's $1800 I'm likely out as well. I'll probably go with the Fold 5 if they are at the same price point. While the Tensor 2 is nice, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a battery beast on top of much better performance. I might just wait and see what the Pixel 8 Pro is like and hold onto my Fold 4 and skip the foldables altogether this year.
It’s not just you. Everyone will come flocking soon. Even those who have done nothing but b*tch about it.Such a liar😎
So I crunched the numbers in my situation and wanted to share in this thread in case someone is in a similar boat. I'm a post-paid AT&T customer with a single line. I wanted to see what it would cost me if I stayed with AT&T and purchased the GPF from them vs. purchasing from Google and staying with AT&T vs. switching to Verizon. I also assumed a few things....
*$1,000 trade-in offer with both carriers on a 36 month contract.
*Paying $100 for a cheap Android device on Swappa to use as the trade-in and keeping the funds for selling my iPhone 13 on Swappa or locally.
*I could get $600 for the GPF if I sold it in 18 months if I bought it from Google.
*I could sell the Pixel Watch for $200 without opening it.
For Verizon and AT&T I priced it out in a scenario where I would upgrade from the GPF after 18 months and trade the device back to them and grab another trade-in offer. I also took into consideration the cheapest plans that are eligible for these trade-in offers currently.
(To make things more simple, I'm going to exclude sales tax on the phones and taxes and fees for carrier service.)
GOOGLE STORE
GPF $1,800
Insurance $180
AT&T Service: $900
- $200 Pixel Watch Sale
- $600 GPF resale after 18 months
Total: $2,080
AT&T
GPF $400
Insurance: $306
Next: $108
AT&T Service: $1,170
Swappa: $100
Total: $2,084
VERIZON
GPF $400
Insurance: $306
Verizon Service: $1,260
Swappa: $100
- $200 Gift Card For New Line
Total: $1,866
Yes, Verizon is the cheapest by $200 in this scenario. But I'm leaning towards the Google route personally because I'm lazy and it will let me take the GPF to Italy. Another thing to note is that the GPF will come unlocked from Google and unlock automatically from Verizon after 60 days. The AT&T GPF will not unlock unless you pay it off entirely.
T-Mobile is far more expensive. They only offer 24 month contracts, they currently only offer $800 off the Fold 4 (and I'm assuming the GPF as well) their insurance is more expensive ($25) and their trade-in offer requires you to sign up for a plan that is $90 a month. Factor in the Swappa purchase and that total works out to $3,800.
Last note, I'm sure Best Buy will have a special offer too at launch.
