Take it to the couch and lie down horizontally. Then bend your knees a little and place it on your thighs. Can you extend the screen back far enough to see it well while you type your next post in that position?

Yes, I can :)

BTW... no mooo, whine... this thing is silent. I've been using it for over 2 hours plugged in to the AC and it is just a little warm on the bottom... even less so on the top. The VERTICAL viewing angle is IMPROVED over my tests a few months ago in the Apple store with the first gen MBP's...little to no color shift on the vertical and only slight darkening.

Well, I think you may have at least 2 fingers. Read about two fingers for right click :)

Thanks! Even when I travel I take along a small mouse so I really have very little need for the trackpad at all. Just don't use it, therefore am not really sure of its assets or limitations. A small Bluetooth mouse works just great with my PB or my MBP, so why bother with the trackpad?

Please Stop Acting Like A Troll Clix Pix

Thanks, Multimedia! This is helpful in understanding where you're coming from and where you're heading and all points in between! :) So from this I am gathering that you've not had actual daily in-home or in-office experience with the recent or current models, ie: the MacBook, the MBP or the Mac Pro.....?
What has that got to do with anything? You are acting like a Troll. What is your problem? You think I have nothing to contribute because I don't have Intel models in my possession yet? I don't believe in buying Rev A models and the C2D MacBook Pro is proving why.

I have a Quad G5 and a Dual Core G5 actively working in my office so I don't need a Quad Mac Pro. I need an 8-Core Mac Pro. You really don't know where I'm coming from at all lady.

I am 100% Certain that I am not the only one here who is making significant contributions of information to this forum who is still on all PPC Macs. No way is this an Intel exclusive Forum lady.

It's important for everyone to realize that we're all going to have different priorities and different ways of using our Macs. Some of you may want to lie on the floor or on a sofa and use your machine; others may prefer to use something like an iLap or still others may prefer to have the machine on a desktop or table.....we're all different, with differing lifestyles and differing preferences. If you want to use your MBP while lying on the floor or a sofa, that's great, even as I'm using mine seated at a table or some sort of solid surface or while seated on a softer surface having my machine on my lap supported by an iLap or other device.... None of this is "right" or "wrong." It is individual preference....

Hmm

You know, the angle thing was never a big issue for me, but just for grins I checked my Gateway 450ROG that is going to be replaced when the MBP arrives. The Gateway screen goes a full 180, making the whole thing flat. Not very useful (as I have never used it much past 110 degrees or so), but interesting nonetheless.

Have a good one

That is exactly why he has the right to know if it will work, the way he wants to use it.

Now Give Us A Hot Air Flow From Giant Vents Feel Report Please

Yes, I can :)

Thank you. Now put your hand behind the bottom of the screen where those honkin' gigantic heat vents are and tell us how much you can feel the hot air flying out of there all the time. I'm telling you and everyone here that new vent design is HUGE - one of the most significant changes to mobile Mac design in history.

And that is why we don't buy Rev. A Macs my friends.

A pic ... brightness @ 40%, maximum open angle on LCD, glossy screen.

notice the ethernet cable?? is there a driver for the wireless to support WPA???? I refuse to use WEP...

you can do that in Tiger too...

Its under trackpad settings.

And it works beautifully. As a just converted Windows user, I do not miss the second mouse button at all, I actually think the two finger=right click is easier, you don't have to reach all over the place, things move faster.

I feel a little bit of hot air... not much. what should I run to stress the processor?

Whoaaaaaa....!!!! Hey, I'm no troll, I've been on MR for over a year and a contributing member for almost that amount of time.... No problem here, I'm just asking some questions and, well, frankly, now I'm really intrigued because of your increasing defensiveness. I don't believe I ever indicated that you (or anyone else, for that matter) has "nothing to contribute" because of what you have or don't have in the way of Macs...... I believe I worded my post to include daily or frequent use, which doesn't need to mean actual ownership.... There are those who work with Macs and Windows-based PCs on a daily basis who do not own the machines. I find it interesting that you are such a heavy contributor to threads involving Macs with which you may have had no actual personal experience.

I live in toronto too, and I have a feeling I should have bought at the Apple store, but I had to go through Carbon Computing (Queen St. East) because I have a business account there. They still haven't told me when it's coming (2.33 w/ 160 gb)

Oh man, that sucks. I do hope they'll have them soon. It only took me 3 days to wait after release but then again, were talking the Apple Store. They actually get shipments every day except for Saturday and Sunday.

Anyway, good luck man.

I'm sorry, do you have a core 2 duo MBP? I thought not. How are you different from him, when this is a thread to try and find out about a new computer that only a few people have?

Should be a way to set up WPA....I am pretty sure that this is what I used to set up my MBP a few months ago. What wireless setup are you using? I've got Linksys something-or-other; had to get it a few months ago to replace my old router which unexpectedly kinked out on me. Maybe your current router doesn't support WPA? Have you looked for an update at the manufacturer's site?

is 160GB PMR?

so did anyone confirm if 160GB HDDs are PMR drives?
Also, will I really see a big difference over the stock 120?? I am not at all interested in the extra 40GB but would definitely consider it if I get a PMR and if it performs way better than the stock one...

thanks,
pal :)

I have way more personal experience with Macs on my little Pinky than you have on your whole body lady. 22 Years Lady. You have One. Why are you attacking/insulting me?!? Leave me alone.

check this out, next to those UBER strange and scary self-portraits i believe these are the first pictures of a 17" MacBook C2D Pro !!

nope, it is not. look at the dot to the right of the iSight, the new C2D machines do not have them. she must be trying to pull a fast one. on top of which they were not even announced a week ago, nevermind shipped.

edit: beaten by pal. curses! meddlesome kids! :)
