Well I am able to answer my own question!!

Has any one seen their order status change or have received notification of shipping in the past 24 hours.

It appears that things have gotten quite for the weekend.

Well I am able to answer my own question!!

Get Over It!

Waiting for my first MBP - a CD2 2.16, 2gb, 160, glossy. I would never have bought this machine if Apple didn't switch to Intel and develop Bootcamp. (BTW/if Apple didn't switch to Intel and develop Bootcamp AAPL would still be $25 a share) The days of OS monogamy/snobbery are over, my friends. I'll use Windows, OSX, or whatever I damn well please. FWIW/Newegg is offering XP Pro with a Vista Business upgrade for $139 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832116175

Cheerio from you newly converted MBP OS floozy.

Is anyone in the U.K tracking their progress?

TNT website states .

"Destination Belfast, Pickup date 29th , Please Call."

I don't like the phrase please call.

HOLY CRAP - mine has also shipped! I had no idea they manufactured and shipped on Sundays (those Chinese are so efficient :))

2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM-1x1GB
120GB Serial ATA Drive@5400rpm
SuperDrive 6X
15" Glossy Widescreen Display
BkLit Keyboard/Mac OS-B
Country Kit-GBR

I am in shock. I was planning on cancelling first thing tomorrow to upgrade the HD and MAYBE change to the matte screen but here it comes! I'll see if I like the glossy, if it bothers me I can return it...

The finest laptop in the world is on it's way to me!! :D Oh god how do I get my head around this?!?!

Can anyone see tracking info on TNTs website? The tracking no doesn't show as registered for me.

i wish Apple would hurry up and ship the 17" MBPs i can't wait!!

many 15" seem to be getting to delivered about 3rd Nov so i hope the 17" will bee not too long after although my status says 14th i hope for 10th at latest

Woah... you picked that up at a store? I thought the 200GB was a BTO-only option, as was the 3GB of RAM. Of course, it wouldn't be hard for them to throw in an extra chip at an Apple Store, but to swap a hard drive is serious effort. I'd love to know how you managed to get a 200GB drive as a stock model, and what make/model that drive is. Thanks!

i ordered it at the st. louis store about 3 weeks ago and picked it up yesterday

Well, FWIW, no change in order status for my 15" 2.33/2GB/160GB/Glossy MBP. Originally scheduled to ship by 11/2 and arrive by 11/9 - and that's still how it stands. Sigh :(

Ah, cool. I didn't know that they could do that for you -- I may end up doing that. So, did your order got upgraded automagically to the C2D?

Mind checking on the Make/model of the HD? You can find that info in the Apple System Profiler. Thanks! :)

MBP C2D Loss of Preferences

I got the new 2.33 core 2 duo and for some reason I'm running into a lot of problems with the whole bootcamp crap. I need only one program from Windows so I would love for this to work. Here are some of the problems I have ran into...

1. I will personalize OSX and then once I turn it off and then back on all of my settings are lost. It goes back to the default. All of my programs are still in Applications but everything else is lost... Even files on my desktop.

2. Windows will restart randomly with the blue screen of death.. Starts back up like nothing.

(It also will keep all of my preferences and files)

3. I installed all of the given drivers, but for some reason I can't find the wireless driver. I don't know if I could. I am able to plug in a LAN line though.

4. It feels a little laggy at times, something I wouldn't expect from a C2D MBP

Any help would really be appreciated.. Thanks

Where are the grills on those new vents? If there are no grills then whats stopping dirt, ants, ur pet hamster, from getting in there??

This is a monster of a thread to sift through.

Those holes are absolutely tiny.

lol yeah I noticed that a few days ago. Oh well can't blame a guy for making an extra buck, he did do everyone a favor by answering their questions. I clicked the ad as a thank you for his efforts.

Were the grills really stopping dirt and dust better than what's there now? Dirt and dust particles are tiny, you will need some type of filter to stop dirt and dust. As far as ants go I would recommend Raid or a pest control company. Hamster? that's on you. And when the fans are on the push the air out. So keep your work area clean and maybe blast it with some high pressured air every now and then and you will be fine. I have had other notebooks with bigger grates and they never got dirty.

If you tell me you got it a the West County store I'm gonna flip.

Wednesday night i called them up and asked about it and the i guy i talked said they didn't have any but the manager told them that the mbps were "in transit" and they were expecting them thursday or friday. Thursday came and went, no mbps. I called them up thursday night looking for a 2.33 15" and the girl that answered said they had 3, i asked her if they would hold one because i couldn't get to the store that night. She said that they will only hold until the end of the day. It was already 8:30pm so i figured i'd take a chance on picking one up friday and that they wouldn't sell all 3 between 8:30 and the time they close. So friday i was at the store and 10:30am, a half hour after they opened. When i went in i told the girl i was looking for a 2.33 15" or a 17" whichever they had (at this point i was willing to pay the upcharge for the 17" just to get my hands on one); she said they didn't have any at all and never did. At this point i was getting really frustrated. So when i got back to my truck in the parking garage and i called the store, and just for fun, asked if thay had any c2d mbps, and the guy went and checked and said they had 2.16's but no 2.33's, but he, unlike anyone i talked to in the store offered to put me on a waiting list. I called yesterday and at least now they are sticking to their story, 2.16s but no 2.33s or 17"s. Im almost more mad about getting told so many different stories over the course of 3 days than actually not having the unit. Obviously someone in that store knows what the deal is, probably the manager, so why don't they tell all the employees the same thing so that the customer gets the same answer from everyone?

Needless to say all my whining and complaining won't get me one faster, but i felt i had to vent.

A few days ago? I didn't put up the ads until yesterday morning (Saturday), and only after my website hit 4 gigs of downloads.

And glad I did, as I got "slashdotted" sometime overnight....bandwidth is not free...however I am glad the information will get out to more people than just the macrumors crowd...

Still taking questions...send them in to mbp(at)charter.net
