Paying $200-400, on top of Apple MAYBE (This is not even guaranteed) to swap out your computer, all whilst having to deal with these issues for that time? Not worth it.
Not having a computer is worse. Buying something i don't want is even worse. Im still not worried about this. Issues happen I'm sure we will be taken care of.

Guys, please RETURN this product if you're experiencing it. Even if you're not, I urge you to - these issues will pop up sooner than later. Then you'll be stuck with a brick worth thousands of dollars, and won't be able to return it. Get the cash, and go elsewhere.

Or instead of panicking you could... Wait and see what is actually causing the few reported issues and then use your Apple care to have the problem fixed for free if necessary. Either or.

the only graphics glitch I've noticed with my 460 is when I turn on my Mac and click to login once I hit enter and it begins to load the bottom part of the screen glitches out for a second then everything is normal ...

hmmm

YES. Day two and the exact same thing is happening on my 15" inch. 460 as well but I don't think the dGPU is the problem. Its like a fuzzy, pixilated rainbow bar at the bottom of the screen.

Restarting/shutting down and logging back in. It will do the same thing every time. Any one else having this problem?

Also, I get no option to use Touch ID for signing in anymore. It always says "Your password is required to enable Touch ID" even though Touch ID is already enabled and has my fingerprint. Nothing fixes this. Always have to enter my password manually now.

This stuff only started happening after I shut down my computer for the first time. Also, as an aside, the Touch Bar can be kind of glitchy at times, not coming out of sleep and not showing the correct buttons in context.

Methinks they need to release an update for these MacBooks ASAP.

I think you may be my twin lol. I had the Touch ID issue as well but I figured that actually may be normal to have to type your password after a fresh boot just like the iPhone? I could be wrong

The graphic glitch when you restart is (unfortunately) normal if you are using FileVault, it should not have any consequences, maybe they'll fix it with an update but I doubt it.
No idea about Touch ID, that might be a problem if it happens after you enter the password once.

wow thats actually relieving if thats actually whats causing it

Has anyone tried a fresh OS install? The image used for Apple's initial installs has been hit or miss recently - both my 2015 rMB and 2015 rMBP had the standard graphical issues at boot and wake that were fixed with a fresh install.

Not saying the dGPU isn't the problem, just my experience with recent macbooks says reinstall the image, don't trust the stock one.

Sierra also is causing artefacting on my machines, which wasn't present under the clean El Cap image. Have not debug'ed this yet.

Very tempted to cancel my order and get a used Mac Pro, and live off the macbook.

Sounds like it's just the 460 models that have this issue. Can anyone with a lower specced model chime in?

Blah, if I got the 15-inch I would want a 460. The RAM and CPU are good enough, but the 460 feels like it completes the machine...

Yep. That's it, thanks.

Have no idea what's up with Touch ID though. Even when I just log out and log back in, it requires a password. No option for Touch ID. I'll try deleting my fingerprint and reinstating it.

I have a thread , see attached pictures, I have an appointment tomorrow with the Genius Bar.
The guy at the Genius Bar told me to order a new one. I will give mine back when that arrives. In the meantime I will not use the software that causes the problem (Adobe Media Encoder)

For the price of a 1TB 2016 MBP you could just about get a used Mac Pro I would've thought?

I will let you all know what happens, I have an appointment with Apple today. My hope is they let me keep this computer and order me a new one and let me use this one until it arrives. I rather them not try to "FIX" a brand new computer and for my freelance business I can not be without a computer for over a month.

That's what I did. But I had to pay for the new MBP. So now I'm set back $7000
