Greyscale PNGs sometimes draw momentarily but always turn all black in Safari 6.0.5. Easy place to find some is http://www.xkcd.com

Also in Safari, browser-scaled JPGs sometimes appear garbled, but look fine if you zoom into them.

Also in Safari, frequently the cursor will flicker between a modified cursor and the standard arrow when rolling over interface items, such as links or plug-ins, only to return to the arrow as soon as you stop moving the cursor.

Thanks so much for all of this work, Wayne! This has all been amazing. I installed directly over my existing Lion install, and still have virtually no problems.

So i had a play with 10.8.4 on my MacMini 2,1 (1.83GHZ Core2Duo 4GB Ram) but the GMA950 gfx seemed to be workinh in frame buffer mode. It was running terribly.

Is there any work to get the GMA950 driver working as at the moment it's not supporting opengl. Can we not just port the driver over from 10.7.5?

Thanks again for your efforts.

MLPF not working on macpro 1,1

Using v0.3 with the :Install OSX Mountain Lion.app at 4.46GB version 1.3.24
on Mac Pro 2 x 2.66GHz Dual Core Xeon with upgraded ATI HD 5770 graphics & 14 GB RAM

Installation appears to go OK for about 5 minutes when it stops with whirly thing bottom centre screen against a white/grey screen. Just before it seemed to be stopping in that the whirly graphic would freeze, but then it would start again. I eventually hard restarted after leaving it frozen for about ten minutes.

should I wait for the 64-bit version? I'm using two screens - will it make any difference to disconnect one of them during the install?

thanks

Awediohead I have had the same issue.I have a macpro 1,1 with 12g ram ssd and radeon PC 6870. No luck with USB key install either. The program runs and installs the files in the install partition but when I try to reboot into install to run mountain lion installer I get the white then grey screen with the whirly graphic freezing solid black. I tried with the 7300gt out of the macpro as well and no luck. We will probably need hackerwaynes 64bit version. C'mon Hackerwayne, any suggestions for this issue?:D :)

Since update to Mac OS X 10.8.4 x3100 not working.

Hy,

I had all working 10.8.2 on my macbook3,1. Everything was working perfectly, really everything, had no problem at all.

I had to update my computer because of the latest Xcode to 10.8.4. I download the combo update, installed the packages from the mlpostfactor app, restarted the computer, everything was fine UNTIL: I repaired the disk permissions, and some minutes later it became laggy. So i restarted my computer, then I realised that my graphic card is not working anymore.

If i repair the disk permissions I get this error message:

Permissions differ on “System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Resources”; should be lrwxr-xr-x ; they are drwxr-xr-x .
Repaired “System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Resources”

But every time I do it, it's always there.

Do you have any solutions for me?

10.8.5 Compatibility

Hi Hackerwayne,

I know you're back from a well deserved holiday and kicking off works on Mavericks but wanted to know if you are still planning to continue works on 10.8 with the new 10.8.5 update coming.

Has this been tested and will a 0.4 come out to ensure compatibility?

Thanks a lot

MLPF for realz

It's great to see ML running on my MacBook 4,1 and all the things it brings (like App Store apps that are restricted to 10.8 and just sticking it to :apple: in general) but I can't use it day to day without things like SMB, and the like being fully functional.

It'd be great to hear about progress to make MLPF permanent upgrade worthy. From using it on my machine it doesn't seem far off, although I ain't no programmer!

FYI guys I deleted the useless Lion partition (I was in dire need of space) but unfortunately it seems impossible to fusion the free space into the Mountain Lion partition so you'll ended up with 2 partition instead of 1, see for yourself:

I think you can click on the ML partition, and change 40 to 80 so that the partition getting resized from 40gb to 80gb. Than click apply. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys!
My case is: MBP 2,33 15" late 2006 & MLPF 3.0 - everything I need works great (apart from the Little Snitch but I don't care now - waiting for MLPFv.4.0)

But there is one thing I still cannot manage... the keyboard backlight automatically starts on logging. It doesn't matter I turn it off before shut down or not.
I can turn it off from my keyboard or turn off in preference panel but every time when the logging window appears the backlight goes on.

Does anybody know the way to definitely turn off the keyboard backlight on logging?

Thx in advance for any suggestions.

Hi,
I don't know if this problem is related, but in Logic Pro X, the playhead is invisible. Everything else is working fine on my 2007 white macbook.

Thanks for your great work!

HackerWayne,

Cheers for the updates.

Will GMA950 have openGL support anytime soon? I have a MacMini 2007 Core2Duo that works great other than doesn't seem to have openGL graphics.

Dear Wayne,

after a while I decided to jump to ML 10.8.4. ML seems really smooth, but since the website is not working properly for post installation FAQs and you removed the tutorial on the first page of this thread I would like to ask you a couple of things (I want to note that I restored my TM backup after installation and it's working very well):

1. what to do with Install partition? Is it possible to transform it into a ML recovery partition so that Find my Mac will work again.
2. can I rename the ML partition? which are the drawbacks in doing that?

Thank you again and keep going! :D

Can anybody put up MLPF 0.3 on a filesharing site that works (mega)?

The download link has been down for several days now.

Not sure if HackerWayne said he was updating the 0.3 link, or updating MLPF.

Thanks!

Great! Thank you. I was able to download.

I'm getting an error when I try to run MLPostFactor telling me "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app not found." It's in the Applications folder along with MLPostFactor so I'm not sure what the real problem is.

My setup in case it is the cause:
I have Lion installed on an external hard drive. This is a bare bones installation with no other apps installed. I have MLPostFactor and Install Mac OS X Mountain Lion in the Applications folder. I'm currently running off this startup disk.

UPDATE:
Seems as though this setup does not work. I ran it from my laptop's hard drive and it worked to create the install drive. I was able to install on the external drive and got an installation successful message but the computer will not boot. The instructions said that I should get a installation failed message. I'm going to try rebooting to the install drive and running MLPostFactor on the 10.8 drive as if the installation failed as expected. Any advice in the meantime would be appreciated.

I'm installing on a MacBook 2,1 (I think. It was the first C2D MacBook.).

A BIG thank you to Hackerwayne for this app and an easy to follow guide. I am typing on 2006 MacBookPro2,2 2.33GHz 2GB running 10.8.4. The installation from external firewire HD was smooth and uneventful. No installation failed message! All functions worked. I am very happy to report that this old MBP is up to date and not obsolete.

Did you do anything different from the instructions? Sounds like the only difference that we have is MacBook revision 2,1 (me) vs 2,2 and firewire vs USB 2 (me) hard drives.
