I am seeing 1 scratch, is that right?
You are seeing one (rather large) scratch because the others are smaller and won’t show up with my 5C camera. If this was an issue of one micro scratch or a scratch on the steel or back, I wouldn’t have made this thread and would have kept the phone.

Aren't you the same person that said you've returned dozens of iPads?

Dozens! As in more than 24 returns.

Maybe it's time to consider the possibility that Apple products are not for you.

OMG 24?!?!? Please someone post the link to that thread. I'm cracking up. twenty four?!?! TWENTY FOUR?! TweNTy FoUR?!

24 ipad returns? can someone post the link to that thread LMFAO

Search my thread history. It isn’t a joke. I have returned many iPads for dust under the glass, dead/stuck pixels, other screen anomalies, and also every 12.9 inch iPad Pro I had clicked in normal use. Had issues with Apple Watch as well. I’m glad you find it funny. I don’t.

Got ya, was more so curious. I would just bring it back and get a new one, could be a worse situation. I noticed tiny scratches in bright light occur on my 7 Plus early on, eventually I just forgot about it. With a new phone though, you might as well replace.

Some people here are so simple minded. I didn’t return 24 items in one go people, this is over the course of years. And all the issues were real- I either take photos or have non tech-experienced family members look to confirm. I simply have higher standards than you do, and perhaps am more astute, and that’s fine. But you’re not going to tell me something isn’t there when it is.

Return it then. No need for you to stick with “it’s normal” philosophy. It’s 1000 dollars unit. You shouldn’t tolerate that.
What's normal? A bunch of scratches? You are out of your mind. This is going back for over $1,000. I wouldn't accept this for $200.

This. I wouldn't be so quick to call yourself astute if you bought 25 defective products from one retailer...

edit: or you just have the worst luck in the world which really sucks. Hope you work it out OP

You deserve happiness.

My wife broke a fingernail once, I threw her out of the house, never looked back. The new woman keeps herself in tip top shape. She is cool with Twix as a healthy snack and Fruity Pebbles for breakfast so the kids love her.

I’m saying I am astute in that I notice these things and catch them. As I have explained countless times before - I am deeply attached to the Apple ecosystem and love the software. I also don’t believe other tech companies do better with quality control or build quality - I just think Apple can do better than they have been.

OP needs the iphone X: blood diamond edition...fit for a Hulk

Sorry to pile on but twenty four is insanity.

I had my share of returning it. It’s user experience...and paying for something expensive and notice something wrong end up beingreturned with money back until Quality has improved.

So the iPad was launched in 2010 and it's 2017.

24 ÷ 7 = 3.42 times you've returned an iPad per year or one returned every 3 and a half months for 7 straight years.

I usually bought two at a time and returned for two more, and if the next two were faulty I would return altogether and wait months to try again or until the next model was released.

If you actually knew me and sat down with me when I open an Apple device and I showed you whatever issue I find, you would confirm it is there, but maybe you wouldn’t find the issue unacceptable - I do. That’s the difference.

There are two things at play here: I look my devices over carefully before accepting them (some don’t), and some people can overlook small imperfections - I can’t if we’re talking about the screen or something intrusive with usage, like a clicking body of an iPad Pro.

And something tells me it will continue until we figure out a way to mine Wakanda for Vibranium.

My wife came out of the shower once, she had just shaved her legs. I took out the magnifying glass, as is our process, and sure enough there was one hair that she missed. It was behind the left kneecap.

Grabbed her by the hair, dripping wet in a towel, threw her in the car, and dumped her off at a Jewish singles dance, haven't seen or heard from her since. The kids ask about her sometimes, but the replacement wife is just perfect, she has never burned toast, it's quite extraordinary.

OP:

Have you ever purchased an Apple product you have NOT returned? In other words, you were satisfied with the first example you purchased?

Not trying to be snarky or funny, genuinely curious.

Absolutely. Many more dozens than I have returned.

I just hope you put a screen protector on the new Apple iWife

I break in my iphones the way you're supposed to break in a leather baseball glove...I'll oil it up and just punch it till it loosens up. Works like a charm.

Funniest thing I’ve read today.

1. I spend $1000.
2. receive iPhone.
3. notice scratch straight out of the box.
4. return iPhone to Apple Store for exchange or arrange for return or exchange through Apple.

(notice nowhere is it stated to go on Internet forum and start a complaint thread and continually post in it. This is not going to help resolve the problem)

I posted to alert others to check for scratches before accepting their $1,000+ investment. I’m replying because I needed to vent and I’m bored because I’m off work. I am also waiting for someone to explain to me what I have to do with the SIM card situation that I mentioned in my first post so that I can return the phone.

Update: SIM card issue is now resolved.

had a scratch on mine at the top, deep enough where you could feel it with your fingernail. Supposedly they're sending me a new one next week.

Hope your next one is good. On the phone now trying to do a return (it won’t let me online).
