Almost there....

...my finger is right on the trigger waiting to pull it and order a 27" i7 ! Waiting a couple of weeks more could be useful anyway to get more feedbacks from users on latest deliveries....pls keep us posted on your user experience which is extremely useful for all of us ! Thanks vm

but is this 3rd one ok? or does it have any issues?

It's only been on for a couple of hours. Booted it up no problem, restarted it about 3 times, so far so good. I've got my fingers crossed.

mine was good also at first...

then I went opened safari window with lots of white background dragged it to about an inch or two high and moved it around from top to bottom, as I get towards middle yellow tinge appears ...its noticable..if you dont see the whites getting yellow you dont have it..i thought i didnt have it..after a few hours on it was noticable...not as bad as some i've seen...but why would you accept any yellow tinge is my question...well im not willing to live with that because over time it will only get worse, so if you start off having it...in 2 years you'll need crest whitestrips...lol

Delayed

Ordered my i7 iMac on Jan 2. Was to ship on the 19th and deliver the 22nd. This morning the ship date has changed to 7 business days with a delivery date of Feb 1 to Feb 3.

My week 2 replacement is out for delivery

But I am at work so I will not be able to test it until later in the day.

Ordered my i5 iMac on Monday (the 18th) and got it Tuesday (the 19th) from amazon, using overnight shipping with Prime. It's a week 53 model though, so nothing new. Although the only problem is the slight yellow tinge, nothing else thus far. It was on for 12 hours yesterday restoring the system from my time machine from my other iMac and nothing troublesome happened.

I just received my replacement and have set it up at work

I could not wait.

Anyhow I cannot see any yellow so far but the lighting in the office is terrible (Sun to my screen).

So It is very difficult to judge the display so far.

The Imac itself is in decent shape although the screen had fingerprints on it which I wiped off.

Everything is quiet.

I will have to test the screen later when I get home.

I have been using the replacement and so far so good.

It looks even to the eye as far as color goes.

I don't see any yellowing so far.

So this is good news.

No flickering yet.

JUST got the email saying my 27" iMac shipped. It is supposed to arrive by the 21st. I thought I paid for 2-3 day shipping but I see in all my documentation that it says expedited shipping.

Mine arrived yesterday (19th). No cracked screen and everything booted fine. It is a week 3. I'm not at home to test it out fully and won't be able to until next week... :( I'll post again with a "good/bad" report.

mine arrived on the 18th week 3, I see absolutely no problems..already migrated off my 24" imac..so far..I freakin love this machine...its absolutely beatiful...i7 quad..it has eaten up all my apps with no problem..the best computing experience I've ever had...I hope this lasts

That's how I feel about my week 2 so far (having owned it a week). Just be sure to throw an SSD in there and revel in the astonishingly fast experience!

I'm soooo jealus...
still waiting for my i7 to come, I could write a book about the iMac that WILL be here next week (fingers crossed).

By the way, I'm still not sure about the week numbers. What does week 3 mean? The third week of January started on the 11th right? Is that what it is?

Well i had my second i7 27" replacement for 4 days and this morning i turned it on and bam, i see 3 dead pixels on screen! only can see it over white, and other light colors (black you cant see a thing)

i checked the iSight camera again and i see 4 dead pixels now!

Called up apple he said let it run 24 hours and see if it has any change tomorrow, if not to call applecare right away and get a replacement, but he said i'll be able to hold onto this one till the new one arrives, and once that one does give this one back to the TNT guy for a return......

Still waiting for my i7 2TB, ordered it at an Apple certified retailer in the netherlands January 5th :((((

Mine should have been shipped on Jan 20 and I got this email this morning

Due to an unexpected delay, we now anticipate shipping the following item(s) as follows:

Z0GF, IMAC 27"/4850-512MB
Ships by Feb 4
Delivers by Feb 9

Should I call them and complain? I'm a software engineer and I cannot wait another two weeks. I got a project, building iPhone applications and I cannot do that without a Mac.

This is my replacment. I returned the old one due to the yellow issue. My iPhone projects have been postponed since then.

Well, the delay probably to fix the yellow. If you can tolerate the yellow, then you could buy from amazon and get it in few days...

I think people are in danger of putting 2+2 and equaling 5. It would be good to think that they have solved the yellow issue but really, the delay could be down to something as simple as having a low inventory on one, or more components.

You can bet that's exactly what it is.

the delay is due to the yellowing issue..

Until they sort out this problem. Its silly for them to send out yellow monitors period. If 40-60 percent are being returned for replacement, why would apple not want to delay sending out defective monitors. I see lots of complaints for the three week delay. If I were the company I would put out a statement, until the problems with the i7 and i5 imacs is fixed, we will delay shipment. I told them Im willing to wait until rev. b or c. I have the 27 inch in my house now and im using it till the replacement comes in. But I'd prefer to not have to deal with the yellow issue again. if you dont want yellow get a slower machine in 27 or go smaller, they arent having issues. If you need it for a project or are desperate thats a different issue, then go for it on amazon. I will say, i had a mac pro that was panic attacking on me constantly and asked to replace it with the imac. I absolutely love the 27 inch monitor, and the way it performs. Apple boys were trying to get me just to replace the mac pro saying it was a better machine. Im not a big gamer so this will suit me better, but still cant live with yellow.

I am not sure what is happening but..

My week 2 replacement seems fine so far although I did not do extensive testing on it.

I will have to take some photos of the screen and post it here.

I think they did something to mine. I had a long delay (almost 3 weeks) and when I got it the screen had fingerprints on it.

My previous Imacs did not have fingerprints.

So maybe someone was told to take mine off the production line to put in a good screen.

It just seems odd that I was told that this one would be fine and then it is.
