Android = USER experience
iOS = user EXPERIENCE

It is up to the USER in Android to make it better. It is up to Apple to make it a better EXPERIENCE for the user.

Android = manual mode
iOS = automatic

In racing, driving stick shift is always the best.

Hoping that Lenovo Vibe K5 arrives in my country for under 6K PHP (under $130). 2700+ mAh is quite sizeable for Snapdragon 415 and HD "5 screen and battery is removable. I know for sure exactly how to tweak it to my liking where I get a fairly CONSISTENT experience across all my Android phones when it comes to apps. There is now a gray area between low to mid and mid to flagship especially if you know what you want to download already on Android.

If the K5 never arrives here, then I might buy another local branded phone called the MyPhone my85 DTV. First MyPhone DTV with Marshmallow and only 3K PHP. The my81 I have has ugly inverted viewing angles and the 1500 mAh for a "4 WVGA is comparable to the Nokia X with a 38 hr rating on GSM Arena. I get about 3-4 hrs SOT or half of my other phones and lose alot (6-7%) during standby overnight. The my85 has 2500 mAh which is good enough for "5 HD.

My ideal specs is generally comparable to the K5 and my85. A "5 HD with a removable and minimum 2500 mAh battery. At least 1 gig of RAM. Anything bigger in that slab design, and I would rather wait for the foldable displays if I want a phablet. Between 4.7-5.2 and depending on dimensions because of bezel is the ideal range for me.

Problems with photo quality, there is always an app called Beauty Plus or Beauty Camera. Problems with a laggy texting app, there is always Textra. Alot of issues can be solved with apps and customization inside their settings. You just need to dig deeper to find those apps with Android.

iPhones are for people who are scared of technology. They are good basic devices though.
[doublepost=1465374252][/doublepost]

This phrase invalidates your whole argument. I know tons of Computer Science, IT, and Science majors that use iOS. These are people that deal with actual computer related, very technical problems on a daily basis. They are NOT afraid of technology. I prefer using iOS and I'm not "scared" of tech. I also use a Nexus frequently and I have it tricked out with Nova Launcher and all sorts of gestures. iOS just works more reliably, consistently, and provides an excellent user experience for me.

Yeah the whole "iPhone is for the technically enept" argument, is just stupid. A good friend of mine with has a degree in electrical science, uses apple mobile devices primarily, what he does electrically would make a lot of "experts" whimper.
I have other friends who who use iPhones, none of them are technically enept by any stretch of the word, they just just prefer Apple products.
Some of my android friends are total luddites, they seem to be able to figure out how to use an android device, it's not difficult.

The arguments on both sides are hyperbolic and at times, border on hysteria.
Some people just can't bring themselves to criticise thier favourite brands.
I'm guilty of that a bit sometimes, and it makes me cringe inwardly when I do it.
But I don't lie about my own experiences and I certainly don't bag iPhones as I don't have enough experience with them to criticise them.
I have used them, and from what I've experienced, I know I prefer the Android way of doing things.

Choice is awesome.
The word "fact" being used incorrectly, is not awesome.

You're out of your mind. Multitasking on my work issue Samsung tablet is horrendous. I hate having to manage all the open apps that I only opened to get some small bit of work accomplished and then didn't need the rest of the day. On iOS I don't have to worry about those apps sucking my battery dry as they'll save and close automatically. Android is just plain wasteful in this regard.

Chill. I'm stuck on Kitkat at work and it doesn't have actionable notifications. Just infuriating ones that I always have to clear. Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

I did some quick research and found nothing on it. Apparently I was mistaken. If someone could post a video showing the benefits I am interested to see what Android is doing.

I'd never use an android tablet - not even a samsung one. iPad owns them all.

As for android you need an updated phone. Kitkat? Try an s7 edge and come back to an iPhone. You wouldn't.

I too know a bunch of rocket scientists and mathematicians and software engineers who are locked in the iPhone world. That doesn't mean they are smarter. Some of these bozos I know are just arrogant apple pricks who will not open their eyes to competitor products. It's 2016 and the iPhone is no longer anything special. There are many smartphones who outclass the iPhone both software and (build quality) - hardware wise apple is on top but all that jelly and no toast (iOS).

The only thing iOS got going for it is the locked down sandboxing design which is nearly free from all viruses and malware. That's it.

And the example is the OP !:rolleyes:
But what I totally did not realize is this about the galaxy s7 compared to the 6s
[doublepost=1465882956][/doublepost]Another of the ones you specifically wanted..
I bought a galaxy s7 edge for the AMAZING camera with its wide angle lens in the front, and I'm big on photography. However, I miss everything else about my iPhone, it'll be my last jump upgrade. What do you guys think?

Welcome to the past, Apple.

Titanium has been doing that for years. KingRoot can do it too. The same excited The Verge writer is hoping for the capability to make third-party apps as your default. LOL! What next, app launchers and a drawer to hide icons or change them? Still a cluttered mess and I hate folders next to full icons. I will never use an Android phone without a drawer, shortcuts, and ability to hide and change the app icon. Launcher is mandatory for me.

I think iOS10 looks promising but nothing Earth-shattering. They proclaim the biggest update since its inception. K. Like clockwork with that statement. Still waiting on a video player that can play different formats. A gallery and video player two-in-one like QuickPic instead of using two apps for them. Mass delete (select all) files on the device. Double tap to wake and sleep. TubeMate, torrent apps, one-click root, sideloading, RAM swap, et cetera. Still waiting...

Too slow, Apple. Maybe I will get some of those features by iOS20 when smartphone purchases and Facebook usage is finally on the decline... 2026. Rise of the robots.

Realistic expectations weren't expecting anything earth shattering or something really beyond what would fit in with the iOS philosophy that Apple has established.

.

Not any more. It use to be, but now with these fast shifting autos, DSGs, and so on, you will be faster with one of those over any human manual shifting. I still prefer a manual because it adds that fun factor though.

little over stated. PLenty of people are perfectly fine with Android right out of the box. My 69 year old father in law has had no issues, and he's an technically inept as they come.

text, email,browse, media consumption. This is what the vast majority use their phones for, and both iOS and Android do these perfectly well.

i'm still waiting for an android user who will mention android features that are in use by more than an equivalent of the transgender population.

one-click root? ram swap? really?

select all files on a device?

you're joking right?

also, my advice would be to stop waiting. its not a matter of time, its a matter of ideology. sorry to say, you dont fit in apple's. and never will. the fact you got a thousand posts like this makes me believe you really want to.

iOS 10 is looking more like Android from years ago so avoiding it is futile.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I used to say I forgot that abut my 3D Touch before, since I discovered the pressing down on the keyboard to move a cursor around feature however I've been using it all the time. It's so much better to move the cursor to edit things like posts on here with it then use an Android keyboard.

Apple took to the stage this week at WWDC and announced picture in picture as a feature of MacOS!!! A video window on a fecking PC!! Was advertised as a feature by Apple!!

Love it as well but no gesture typing means I can't use it all the time. Google's GBoard swipe to navigate using the space isn't that far behind and offers a lot more additional functionality. The newly updated Google keyboard on Android does this even better (swipe to navigate along the space bar, swipe from delete key to highlight text to delete).

I find with Googles keyboard it's too sensitive and ends up moveing my text around randomly and entering random words. Not sure if I accidentally press the wrong keys but it's damn annoying!

It was a sarcasm aimed at the low number of people watching video on a mac or aimed at apple for duplicating features?

If its the second, how can i replicate that funcion - video window - on el capitain?

When it's something that is natively and specially supported in the OS, is it not a feature rather than just another app running something in a separate window that works similarly but not in the same fashion?

I'm sorry but NO. I Do NOT consider a window I can move around that plays a video as some sort of 'feature' that requires Apple to show it off, I've been able to do that for so long now on a computer I seriously cannot remember how long I've been able to do that.
It's a desperate measure for Apple to choose to highlight that as a feature.... something every single computer has been able to do for years and years and years.

In fact it almost undermines the entire point of a computer, to multitask different apps and windows at once, but here's Apple making an utterly useless feature for you, a built in part of the OS that can do the exact same thing oh but it's Apple's version....

So it's a feature, and while similar in concept, somewhat different as to how it's designed and implemented (in that it's a native feature)...it's just not one that you think is worthy of being shown.

It is UTTERLY pointless and to say anything else is frankly ridiculous, their is nothing special about it apart from Apple made it. I would much rather have them spend time of fixing bugs then pointless features I and many many others really don't need, because their are rather a lot of programmes out there that do the same 'feature'.
