LOS ANGELES BABY!!
I wouldn't worry about the Blood Oxygen sensor. Its just a party trick and it isn't giving any actual useful data.

It’s not really a party trick. It actually does provide your blood oxidation level which is useful if you have Covid. My friend had Covid and was really really sick in early March, and one of the first things doctor told her to do was to monitor her blood oxygen levels. If you look at Amazon the sales of blood oxygen monitors was through the roof. I think it’s a useful feature to have especially given the status of the current pandemic. One of the signs of upper respiratory distress is your blood oxygen levels. Obviously they don’t diagnose Covid, but doctors do urge patients who have contracted it to monitor these levels. That is one of the reasons I upgraded to Series 6. I’m very high risk, immune suppressed, 2x breast cancer survivor. I like the idea that my watch has this capability. So for me, it’s not a party trick but a useful tool for my health. An acceptable range is 95-100%. Next time I have to see my doctor I will compare my reading to theirs to see how accurate the watch is since they take these levels on every visit.

You are mistaken if you think that the blood oxygen sensor on the Apple Watch can be used for anything medical. It in no way can do that and Apple explicitly states it is not to be used for medical purposes. Thats why I said it was a party trick because it isn’t medical accurate. I don’t disregard blood oxygen monitors themselves, just the one in the watch.

So yes, while O2 sensors are extremely valuable when you have FDA approved devices; they are not in the Apple Watch. And please don’t use the watch as a medical device for yourself, it wasn’t meant for that. You need to use a medically approved device.

wasn’t planning on using it anything more than as apple themselves say “a wellness monitor”. It just gives you an idea of your blood oxygen levels. Plus I am interested in the studies they talked about as I have asthma too. I would think as they develop its uses in the future they will probably seek FDA approval for it.

just to chime in RE: the new sensor.. there are some reviews (no where near scientific, merely anecdotal) that did comparisons of the AW o2 sensor and a dedicated on-finger pulse oximeter (98% accuracy) that was FDA approved and the AW results were either identical or within the margin of error of the FDA approved device.

I’d also imagine that Apple may have chosen to not pursue FDA approval as that would limit the number of international markets in which they would’ve been able to enable the feature (request for FDA approval in US = you need similar approval from local health agencies in local markets, which is why many countries still don’t have ECG).

They purposely write in the marketing material that it’s meant for wellness tracking which is a different tone than their usual marketing language of insinuating that the AW is a life changing health device. Equally, research institutes obviously felt that the data is valuable enough for them to analyse, otherwise they wouldn’t enter into research partnerships.

Personally may consider upgrading my S5 to an S6 but do want to wait for a few more reviews testing the accuracy.

Part of me is also hoping that the new sensor may open the door to more metrics (blood glucose levels maybe....?) in the next couple generations..

Unfortunately I can’t afford to upgrade my S4 Hermes but at least I get the new faces :)
Honestly, as someone who has had the S4 and S5, you didn’t miss out on much with that. I expect the S6 to feel minor as well. I’ve always found that getting a new band, whether Apple, Hermès, or 3rd party; is a very economical way to spruce up your watch.
My tracking just changed from being delivered today to Friday WTF? Way to spoil my excitement ?
That’s crazy! I could understand a day or so. Maybe with COVID things are slower? Did they say why? Customs holding it up?

This is the watch I’m most interested in seeing. The way the lugs are designed to stand off the watch so much is unique and I haven’t really seen anything like that. Please do post pics!

I'm getting conflicting information:

TNT tracking (delivery partner to Australia) - Sunday night said package booked for delivery today 21/09. Then this morning it changed to Friday 25/09. Actual status shows the package only got collected 20/09 from Jiaxing China
Apple website - Shipped notification last Friday, still says delivered by 22/09.
Apple Store app - Delivers 28/09 to 01/10 - Hasn't changed since I first ordered it.

I'll have to rely on pics that everyone posts on here to get me through a long week.

BTW - does anyone know how to change the color of the NUMBERS on the Hermès faces? Or even IF they can be changed?
Only to certain colors. White, orange, noir etc. Fairly limited.

Probably not the right thread to discuss it, but all the new Sport Bands and Nike Sport Bands, plus a duplicate Cyprus Green Band. Beteeen us my wife and I have all the Nike Bands and we’re only a couple away from all the Sport Bands.
That has to be what, several hundred bands? How you storing them?

It’s only the Sport Bands and Nike Sport Bands, plus a few others. Personally about 95 and my wife has around 80. Unfortunately we wear different size watches, so we have a fair number of doubles.

This pic is a little while ago now and only my collection, I have 9 more already hanging up now and another 8 on the way. My wife’s are in a clear jewellery box.

Initially went for the Gold SS and bought a Hermes band separately because I really wanted a gold watch...But I miss the Hermes watch faces too much! So going to go into the Apple Store today and try to exchange for a AW6 Hermes (or get refund and purchase it from Hermes store if they don’t have any in the Apple Store).

Can’t decide between SB or SS though...I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but those of you with SB, do you find it goes as well with other Hermes straps as the SS? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance!

This is why I decided to sell my SB S5 Hermes. I wear a lot of Hermes jewelry and it's all silver or white gold and I didn't find it to match well with a lot of my accessories. I have other Hermes bands with silver connectors, and imo I didn't like the way it looked on the SB watch. This year I went back to the silver SS with the Attelage.

Thanks for your input! My Hermes jewellery is all yellow gold which I guess won’t match with either...but I have a few Hermes AW bands which all have silver connectors (including the new attelage double tour), and looks like they’ll continue to have silver connectors for the foreseeable future. So I’m leaning towards the silver SS so that at least my watch is consistent, even if it isn’t with the rest of my jewellery haha.

Is there a way to purchase a deployment clasp separately from the straps themselves?
Indeed, you can buy either of them separately, the noir and the ebene barenia, from Hermes or Apple directly on their respective websites at $539 each. There used to be the fauve barenia but so far it looks like they discontinued that one since the series 6 rolled out.

*EDIT*. My bad I misread that, I now realize you asked just about the clasp itself. It can't be done as far as I know, as the clasp isn't something that can be installed to any regular Hermes leather watch band. That sure would be nice if you could turn any of your Hermes bands into a deployment style!

Estimated arrival was October 2-7 when I purchased the watch on September 15. Card was just charged this morning and status was bumped up to the next stage. Hopefully this means it will arrive sooner than they initially estimated.

hi

I am curious of your watch is coming from China or locally. This is my 3rd Hermès Apple Watch and in my experience all three came locally and not shipped form China. I am only curious of these are already in the United States. Can you let us know where it ships from. Thank you!!

One of my Hermès is coming from PA (44mm Fauve Barenia Single Tour). The other two are coming from China - Navy and Fauve Attelage. All are arriving tomorrow. 2 from UPS were supposed to be here but were delayed in KY. The one from PA is shipping from FedEx.
