Both are very nice watches. I prefer how the Ceramic doesn’t scratch and is more durable from that perspective, but the Hermes Deployment Buckle leather quality is incredible. The Ebene color looks so classy as well and I also like the orange sport band.

It’s a very tough call, but I’m going with the Hermes version and the tipping point is their Watch faces. It really transforms the watch in my opinion.

Has anyone had any problems with the metallic part of the band causing a rash? I got a rash from sbss link band (but not the black sport band or sbss watch), and the stainless steel part of the leather loop by Apple. I read on Apples website that the Hermés bands have a small trace of nickel and might bother nickel sensitive users such as myself.

Really hoping this will work for me, but it might not. Does Apple allow a 14 day return policy if you take the watch out of the box, pair it and use it?

My sbss doesn’t bother me at all, so I know I have at least one option available. My Apple Watch is so useful, I’d like to upgrade my S0 to the Hermés edition S3 Eperon d’Or.

I'm not sure what to do. I ordered an Hermes from Apple & it said it wasn't going to be delivered until around Oct. 20. On H.com they went on sale yesterday so I ordered one & I already got it delivered today!! The problem is I just looked & Apple shipped mine out today! Should I wait & open the Apple one when it gets here on Thursday since it is returnable or should I just open the one from H.com that is staring me in the face right now but is not returnable?

Open the one from Apple. If anything is wrong with the Hermes from their store you will have to work with Apple. Not worth the hassle in my opinion.

So I guess I should wait till Thursday when I get that watch...
I'm soooo impatient!! It is going to be hard since the other one is already here...
[doublepost=1506195376][/doublepost]Can you get all the other watch faces on the Hermes? Specifically the Kaleidoscopic one?

Amazing. Thanks for posting! "Only" 31 days till mine arrives. Could you please post some more pictures in comparison to the ceramic. That was my other preference, but I then went for the Hermes Ebene. More pictures would be great. Also: are there any noticeable weight differences? Many thanks!

I’ve posted a lot of pictures of the Ceramic watch in the Ceramic owners thread. I didn’t want to hijack both threads.

Congrats - and I hate you, by the way - (J/K)! That Hermes is the one I really want, but can't justify it.

Seriously, though, both are beautiful but that Hermes is my favorite out of ALL Series 3 Apple Watches, including the ceramic models. Last year, while lusting over the Series 2 deployment buckle model, I hoped that they would eventually make a black banded version. Enjoy!

Any chance of some photos showing the deployment buckle? Maybe even a video?
There are no videos showing the deployment buckle on YouTube at all.

How does it feel compared to standard single tour/normal band?

Looking forward to getting mine on Monday. Just wish Apple would let you chose Saturday delivery in the UK...

I’m headed out to watch some football, but took a couple quick pictures of the Buckle itself. I prefer the single tour but they don’t offer it in the Ebene color.

Yes you get all the watch faces. Kaleidoscopic is a disappointment but you’ll have it.

Picked up my 38mm Series 3 Hermes with the printed dark blue band (Eperon d'Or) today, and I'm impressed. I didn't know what that band would really be like in person, and when I first saw it on the site I was afraid it'd be too garish, but in reality it's great, and classy. I already love it. Of course the Hermes faces are very nice too. I only wish the Hermes sport band included both the S/M and M/L lengths, as I usually use the M/L bit of the sports bands. Otherwise, very happy with the watch so far and glad I splurged for Hermes.

I am a bit torn between the Hermes Ebene and the Ceramic gray. I have both on order and wonder which one to cancel? I use my AW for regular sports as well as my daily watch for work/life. Before AW came out I wore Rolex/Patek which best fit my attire and now coming from 2 generations of SS with the link bracelett I like the flexibility of the Hermes (Ebene, orange sport band, my link bracelett).

At the same time I also like the clarity and minimalism of the ceramic, which I would only wear with the sports band it comes with. So here is the question: do you think the gray ceramic will become dull too quickly vs. the flexibilty of the SS Hermes? Especially when worn with high quality clothing (e.g. Prada, Brunello Cucinelli).

I am happy I’m not the only one struggling. Your post sums it up very well. I keep going back and forth myself. On one end you have minimalistic and great quality with ceramic grey, plus I mostly wear sport bands. Then you have Hermes which is versatile with bands that can be paired up which is a plus when you get tired of the same setup. Plus when it comes series 4 you still have a nice watch to wear to work with the Hermes watchfaces. I’m leaning Hermes right now but know the ceramic gray is so my style as I tend to not like flashy colors, etc.

I don’t like the sports band on a $1,400 watch and my 2 biggest tissues with the Ceramic Edition are lack of bands and lack of unique faces. The basic Apple Watch faces really are terrible in my opinion.

I am returning my gray Ceramic. I like the color, but it’s a very dark gray. The Hermes Watch faces are impressive (actually looks like a watch face) and the bands are stunning.

Hope this helps.

It sounds silly (given that it's just a software aspect) but at this point the Hermes faces are the thing I'm liking most about my new Hermes Series 3. (Well, the printed dark blue band doesn't hurt either.)

Has anyone had any issues with an allergic reaction to the SS band closure or watch itself? I just ordered my Eperon D'or from an S0 SBSS and am someone with a minor/moderate nickel allergy. I know Apple's website explicitly states that there are small amounts of nickel in the Hermes bands.

I did get some itchiness on the night I got the Hermès watch. I've worn it all day yesterday without any further reaction.

Thank you for your response. I called Apple and insured that the 14 day return policy applies to the Hermes watch and there is no restocking fee, so I am hoping it won't be a bother allergy wise, but if it is, I do have the option to return it.

42 Hermes delivered in North Sydney! Ordered 5.04 with delivery dates 25 to 27.

Sadly I’ll be returning mine unopened as I bought a ceramic edition over the weekend.

Might actually just buy a Hermes leather band for myself for Xmas :)

My deployment band Hermes 42mm arrives on Wednesday. Luckily I telecommute that day so I'll be home to receive it! Can't wait.
