I just started with my Hermes AW series 7 so I haven’t had a chance. This will be my first summer with the bands. Yes I plan to wear my Hermes bands. It’s not like I sweat on my wrists so I think they will be okay.

Not worried about sun and humidity. More worried about rain. But I guess I will always have a sport band in my bag.
@GrandeLatte Thanks I don’t think I can wear the sport band b/c of potential wrist rash, but I will try. I have two Jumping bands and I assume those are ok if it rains or is really humid. My wrist sweats.

Does anyone have both Fauve Barénia and Swift Gold in a pic to share? I’d like to see how different is the color. Thank you.
I do.

Fauve left, Gold right. If you zoom to the original size (provided MR upload doesn't compress it much) you'll see the difference in the leather grain. Besides, Fauve has more color nuances whereas Gold is much more uniform.

Wear your Fauve even longer and the difference will be vast. Fauve will go into a dark brown.

Exactly. I know some people crave the „patina“ effect, but if I want a dark brown band, I‘ll buy a dark brown band to begin with. One of the reasons I like Gold better than Fauve.

Hahaha. Actually darkened Fauve is really pretty, but it's not for everyone. I think it's old school sexy.

When I was younger, I didn't like Rouge H, felt it was too mature. But now, I love it. I consider it the new black!:D

Yeah, how could you debate/compare „pristine“ to „lived in“? It‘s just a matter of personal taste. Just like some people polish their stainless steel Watches (or watches) from time to time and others love the „story“ that the micro scratches tell or the „character“ it gives the body.

And how much so! I only didn‘t get Rouge H because I already had the older, very similar Bordeaux Single Tour.

Hello everyone! So i recently placed a first, timid step on the Hermes/Apple Watch doorstep, thanks to the great help of some wonderful members of this community. No need to say that after having tried my first Hermes Band (a Double Tour) i fell in love with it, and with this topic. I'm still catching up (I have about 150 pages left of this thread to study). After the jump from the aluminum case to the SS, I think my next update will be towards a Hermes AW. I need those wonderful faces!!

In the meanwhile I'm lurking on this thread and drooling after all the bands. I'm really a newbie and since I loved the Double Tour so much (the old fashioned double tour, unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about the new Attelage Double Tour that seems to have replaced for good the classic one) I was hoping to find a good deal for a Simple Tour to pair with my current Silver SS Series 5. However, I find the sizes a bit hard to read.

I have a 40 mm watch and a 140 mm wrist. The Double Tour (fitting 135-155 mm) fits perfectly. But Single Tour for 41 mm fits wrist from 140-750 mm (reading on Hermes Website). With my wrist that is exactly 140 mm, I'm afraid the Simple Tour won't fit properly: it could fit, but the lenght of the strap would be too much to look classy, or it could be too loose even on the first hole (i like my bands snug).

Do I have to say goodbye to the idea of a Single Tour? ? Has someone already faced my dilemma?
Looking for opinions.

For references, here's how I wear the double tour: to the third tightest hole.

Hey there :)

I'm in exactly the same boat as you, 140mm wrist, and wear my double tours on the 3rd to last hole. I've never tried a single tour but I'm considering it at the minute - I also like a tight fit!

I think the single tour should just about be okay, but we'd probably need to wear it on the last hole. I think if you find a Hermes store, or any good store that works with leather, I think they should be able to punch an extra hole in it if needed. Nice to have a friend with a similarly tiny wrist :)

New Hermes SB owner. I now have 5 bands for my new SBSS Hermes Watch. However only two have black lugs. Do you limit purchases to only bands that have black lugs? Have you gotten to like the contrast if the band has silver lugs? What to do if a band you like only has silver lugs? Will Hermes change the lugs?

Have you got a link please? Been looking for this one for a long time!
Yes that’s how I saw Bamboo…was trying to decide if I wanted Rose Mexico. Anyone have a picture of it? Would love to see it if you do. Is it as bright as it seems on Hermes?

This (restock?) finally led me to pull the trigger on a posh listing so I’ll have much better pix soon if the seller is still trying to sell it.

I am new to Hermes. @athousandbands what tells you it us authentic? I am curious.
First off, Occam’s Razor since you’ve got the watch in the listing. There’s no fake watches out there, certainly not Hermes. So you’re pretty safe to think: yeah this is just a person selling the whole kit they got. I’ve always felt like it would be super extra for someone to have a real watch and just run a scam where they swap in a fake band?

And it would also be even weirder to be trying to pass off a used band with patina as real? Like wouldn’t you be getting the fakes in and flipping them fresh?

And there’s a certain level of fakes from this site TaoBao that aren’t trying to pass themselves off as real where the metal engraving and buckle shape look wrong (maybe in a distinctly ‘honest’ way), bec the source is standing by the leather quality and not trying to pull some Canal St shiz.

But all the markings look great. The serial underneath the band, the HERMES and STAINLESS STEEL legend on the buckle (though the latter has changed over time). Also rare to see a fake Sport band with the 44mm etching, and I don’t think we’ve seen the Hermes pin faked. Stitching looks good, too. And the Attelage (that big hook of a lug) is still fairly rare, so just less likely to be a fake.

Although our professor @kobezzz has alerted us to convincing fakes in Europe and the example given was attelage.

Also a thing that’s been obsessing me recently is people stealing pics of Hermes listings to run scams, where I think they write your address wrong and hope the funds release before you can cry foul? Reverse image search doesn’t bring anything up, also I would have recognized it. Usually they steal photos with the box. Gotta love the orange packaging.

Looks very real. I don't think fakes can master this degree of patina'd Fauve, or the fine engraving on the sport band/ watch. Are you getting it at a good price?
