Do I need iOS 16 Public Beta on my iPhone in order to install Watch OS 9 on my Hermes AW? I am reluctant to install iOS PB on my phone? Thanks.

While I trust the Hermes press release/brand activation is the nothing burger we surmised, did we at least get an interesting photo/morsel/gobbet out of it?

IIRC so far our straps work with 40 mm, 42 mm, and 45 mm watches. It's rumored that Apple will come out with an even bigger watch that's more sporty and rugged, do you think our straps will work on this yet unreleased Apple Watch? I know it's essentially just a guessing game, but what's your best guess? Also do you have any desire for an even bigger Hermes watch? My guess is that there won't be a Hermes version of the extra big Apple Watch. IMO a bigger screen is always nice on an Apple Watch, but I'm currently feeling the 45 mm size looks best on my average size man wrist. I've seen photos of women with thin wrists wearing the 45 and at first it looked way too big, but afterwards it started to look similarly like a woman wearing big bracelets, fashion-wise very acceptable. Could that oversize look fashion-cool for men?

Chunky watches will always be fashionable but I doubt there will be an Hermès edition of this rumored larger, rugged/activity focused watch. If the lugs are also larger, any current band won’t fit properly and there will likely only be sporty bands available—nothing premium/luxury.

Unless it isn’t the only Series getting a larger size but there are a billion rumors and we won’t know what’s happening until it’s announced.

I can see a ~49mm Watch fitting my wrist easily; the Attelage band here approximating how much larger the Watch would be.

42/44/45mm lugs/width will look fine on a watch even wider than the current bigger watch. Just look at the modern buckle strap

A few months shy of 2 years and I had to send in my watch for a battery replacement. The battery health dropped to 78%. Because the Hermes Edition has a 2 year warranty, this costs me nothing. Just a heads up for anyone else in a similar situation.

Awesome to hear. Curious which size watch you have?

My pet theory is that Apple will squeeze the slightly larger screen into the same-size body just by making the edges of the „rugged“ Watch flat. In that case, the straps should still work.

I agree.

I agree.
As I’m gonna end up saying a thousand times on here as Gurman self-plagiarizes the same info every ten days…they can also make the case bigger and the 42/44/45 band won’t look too skinny.

Absolutely. Either way I have a very hard time imagining they‘d release a third band size with all the options/SKUs.

We'll, I can see them introducing a new size bc the 'old' watches are still (and will be) compatible with prior bands for a very long time (maybe forever). That being said, I will probably like the bigger size and bite me in the ass for having such a huge band collection for 42/44/45mm.

After the Metropolitan face of os9, Circulaire’s black bg suddenly seems so staid
Completely agree on the white appearance of this face. But I think indigo and all the grey face options look really nice with the black background. I actually find myself liking Metropolitan less than Circulaire the more pictures I see of it.

I wonder if the Hermes faces will get new background color options in OS9 since that seems to be one of the themes of this release. Really Hermes needs to add a face now that there is a competitor to Circulaire.

Just wait til you get Metro hands-on, infinitely customizable, esp if you eschew the band colors and go for the custom colors.

The subtle shifts you can make to the central color create some amazing matches with the non-Hermes bands
