Too early to make that call IMO. Last year we also got things that weren‘t rumoured at all.
It does sound like a minor update from the S7 so far. Body temperature and potentially a larger Titanium model.
I have an SE so any update is a good update but I’m hoping they release an SE2 too for more price flexibility.
New arrival today after I found it new on eBay for a good price. I can’t believe I wrote this band off for so long because it is fantastic! I’m not sure how much wear my Bleu/Vert will see going forward.
Same design, different colors (maybe), body temp feature… that’s pretty much what I’m expecting for the S8. Hermès will likely still be silver and space black. SE might stay the same with different colors and fast charging, maybe a lower price since the S3 is done.
If anyone has the S7 Hermès, likely won’t be any big reason to upgrade. Kinda seems like Apple is on a “minor redesign every three years, minimal updates in-between” schedule and we just got the S7 redesign. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for new bands though 👀
Unless there's something amazing with the S8, I've got no plans to change from my S7.
Now, I did say that about my S6 when the S7 came out, but I at least used that "excuse" to go with he Hermes S7 instead of the standard.
I'm on ban island. No new straps and definitely no new Hermes S8 for me. Hanging on to my Hermes S7 and 3 Hermes bands for a very long while.

Meanwhile, she's totally satisfied with just the 5 that she has.
I don‘t recall the stronger/thicker crystal with improved shatter resistance or the higher dust resistance being rumoured.
Not sure about the swipe keyboard; was it talked about beforehand? Technically that‘s just software, but still S7 exclusive.
Right. New glass for the “old” S8 models would be interesting if the new Ti can spare the hype and Apple is ready to invest in more physical changes so soon.

The newer, extremely pale shade of gold stainless essentially matches the silver Hermes lugs perfectly; literally indistinguishable the more light you have.
It makes a lot more sense to have the versatility of a collection with:
44mm Silver Hermes
41mm Gold SS
rather than the matching faces across the board of:
44mm Silver Hermes
41mm Silver Hermes
…right?

I am not clear about your question. I have the SB Hermes S7. I gave up on the lug match. I have two jumping bands with black lugs. One with silver. I have three leather bands. One black with black lugs. Two with silver lugs. Things look great. For me, if there is not an exact match then big deal. The less stress for me, the better.
If only there was a great SS band that was easy for me to clasp and open.
The question is should I give up the opportunity to have a second Hermes in my collection for the benefit of having a gold watch?
Take the novel finish color over Hermes faces for all my Hermes bands of both sizes or vice versa?

Hahaha. I use Ban Island. I am supposedly on Ban Island too, although a new Fendi bag that just launched sent me over the edge and off the island, temporarily, I hope.
The increase in screen size and more rounded body on the S7 was counted as a major “redesign” so I don’t expect any substantial changes.
If the S8 update only has one or two new features then I’ll probably sit this one out.
I agree with those who said the new rugged or Pro model probably won’t apply to Hermès. Just like the “edition” models were separate.
I look forward to more colourful and pattern prints and might grab one or two new bands.
If it‘s really an either/or and definitely not a why-not-both scenario, I would go for the Gold. Especially with Metropolitan reducing the number of exclusive-and-unique Hermès watch faces to one. With all the bands you have, there is bound to be a bunch that are just 👌 with the subtle/pale new Gold.

Just out of curiosity, how much did you end up paying for it?Yep, was suspicious because of the wrong label on the box but the seller could explain that. Anyway: Congratulations, it was indeed a very good price
I got mine a few months back on ebay Germany for 100 EUR. There was no box but it's definitely genuine. The seller has now and then some new Apple-related stuff.
The asking price was 220€ but since I didn't purchase it I don't know what the buyer actually paid.
