Apple won’t sell the series 8 Hermes after series 9 is released. Neither will Hermes. If it’s not on Apple’s website, now, you won’t be able to buy it any longer for the Series eight.
Yeah, you can get heavily discounted on ebay. Most are gently used.
My suggestion: pickup a series 8 at heavy discount on ebay and then buy your own new Hermes band. That way the band is new and the watch body you won’t be able to tell.
I don’t actually like the Hermes bands 🙈 I just want the faces.
No leather Hermes bands sold on Apple website for Apple Watch S9. Still getting an error message on Hermes website. TBD….
EDIT: I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hermes is still selling AirTags with leather accessories while Apple is not selling the Hermes AirTag at all. Hermes’ website also seems at times to have a blank space under “Jewelry and Watches” which is a clickable link, but that goes nowhere. Maybe the moratorium is still in effect and soon Hermes will introduce leather watch strap accessories.

These new Hermès bands are weak. How can they justify the price without leather?
They did the SBSS nasty. And raised the price of the nylon bands from $319 to $349.
Wow. Just wow. Loved the leather bands. Personally won’t pay that price for textile. Hopefully the Hermes store sells the watches with leather bands or I’m switching to the Ultra.
I’m really excited for these Kilim Single Tours. As a true daily, all-weather Hermès band with a deployment buckle, I believe this will be a very underrated band.
The Kilim Singe Tour looks great (feels high at $1,299 with the watch but at least its deployment), but the S9 is kind of disappinting. Glad they finally updated the processor, but the Watch design just feels stale (its basically been the same since the S4).
I like both the Toile H and Kilim bands, a lot. The Bridon one looks … interesting. Twill Jump is very meh, just a Jumping Tour without the H pattern.
thats why ima wait until S10. For hopefully a redesign. That + 1300 for non leather bands is insane. The watch already has horrid resale value as well.

I think it’s widely understood the Apple Watch core look is the same on purpose. Timeless timekeeping device and all that. Don’t expect much more than slimmer/eliminated bezels with the traditional “fourth year” update next year. Will look forward to your post similar to this one, though.
Makes it an easy decision to hold if coming from a S7/8. Glad the SIP was finally updated although I don’t need more speed on the base Apple Watch. I’d prefer greater efficiency, but battery life appears the same again.
