In the AW cycle (excl Ultra) there's a redesign year, a minor update year, and a processor update year.

S10 is the redesign year. So you know what you'll be expecting next year. However, buying a used S10 at a good discount next year will probably be the best bang for your buck opportunity in the 3-year cycle.
I'm keeping my 7. I have too many things I want to buy, and I intend to ride out my Hermes AW7. All my bands fit nicely so I'm really content. Also happy I have the cool Lucky Horse and Circuit watch faces, they go really nicely with the bands I own.

But if you really like the 10, you should get it. I'm okay without it. But my battery health is at exactly 80%, how much do you think it will cost me to replace battery if my Apple Care expired?

Think it is £79/$99. The only reason I went to monthly AC+ was because I knew the battery was on its way out, but I have been stuck on 82% since June!

Edit just seen above!

Yep after my mad moment of thinking to get a S10 I am sticking with the S7. I do have a few wants also outside the Apple ecosystem so will satisfy my addiction with a band (or two) if they ever restock 😀

I find the battery estimate to be nonlinear. There's some sticking points and then cliffs 🤣

By the by, gone are the days of £79 replacement. It's £95 now. But I find the calculus for AC purely for battery concerns doesn't add up. The battery is really only good for 2-3 years max before it becomes a nuisance irrespective of reported percentage

It absolutely tickles me that battery replacement (aka brand new watch) costs the same no matter if it's an SE1 or an Hermes S10. Such good value to get a new one for £95 every 2-3 years.

Watch improvements are so incremental that a 6-year upgrade cycle (2 redesigns) is perfectly fine.

The thing is that it's the 41mm model. Do you guys think there's a chance that they might release it in a 42mm size
I'm assuming the sport band and Kilim you tried on between your SE and S10 were 42mm? I'd be curious if you can beg/borrow/steal a 41mm, they might actually fit you better, lug width notwithstanding.

The Kilim and sport band are the ones that came with my Series 10 Hermès watch (42mm). I've also tried the sport band that came with my SE2 (40/41mm) on the SE10, but it doesn't matter fit wise at all.

Thank you! It has quickly become one of my favorite SBSS bands. Sadly it’s only for the 45mm watch, like how the 41mm squad got the beautiful SBSS Bordeaux that season. Hermès France currently has loads of bands listed from previous seasons and I had to get this one!
I know! :) As I've mentioned previously, would love to get my hands on the orange leather strap for the 41mm. I've asked several times here if someone who has an equivalent band could measure it, but to no avail... 😅

Did you preorder and they told you it came in early? Or did you just do a walk in purchase?
I went on the Apple site, checked in store availability, saw 1 of each size available in one location, and reserved it for same day pick-up. But it seems the other sizes also went instantly. They didn’t have any on display so maybe they were meant to be for that and they decided to sell them?
