In my opinion the aluminum looks and feels cheap. The screen scratches almost immediately even if you are super careful.
The stainless is more durable, classier, and works with almost any band. The screen is almost impossible to scratch (it will if you are hard enough on it), but it’s difficult. The stainless watch will get surface scratches but those can be buffed out if you want to. I think the surface scratches look great personally...
I wouldn’t even consider the aluminum watch but that’s just me.
I don't agree with you about how easily aluminum face scratches. I had three aluminum watches and only one of them developed a small scratch. The other two were pristine when I sold them. I agree the stainless looks classier, which is one reason I now have ss
