maps looks horrible with it
While I don't necessarily think Maps look quite that bad, it is the only stock app that bugs me when using dark mode.
Not that it fixes the not-great map design in Dark Mode, but I filed a suggestion back in June that they add an option just like the one they already have on macOS Mojave (and Catalina, too) to override Dark Mode for the map and always show the map in light mode. Looks like they never got around to it.While I don't necessarily think Maps look quite that bad, it is the only stock app that bugs me when using dark mode. I'd like for Apple to change the colors a little bit, ie. the greens a little lighter and more pronounced, but other than that, I can live with it.
Oh, and on the X there's some "ghosting" (don't really know how else to describe it) when scrolling f. ex. the contact list with the alphabet bars between the contacts. Yeah, really not that well explained, but maybe the idea of what I'm trying to say is coming through. It's, as I understand it, because the OLED screen, so it's a feature that I just have to accept.
Other than that, cool beans.
It’s not as simple as inverting colors. Is it as half-assed as on OS X where there are dark on darker colors at various spots? You wouldn't think inverting colors to create a 'dark mode' would be seen as a feature of the upgrade. Pretty lame.
Apple forced the white screen nonsense on us years ago, glad they gave the choice for dark mode because it’s easier on the eyesNot gonna use it. It’s very nerdy and very Android-esque
What does this even mean? Not gonna use it. It’s very nerdy and very Android-esque
That white theme wasn’t my thing - some apps didn’t have a clearly defined text typing area because they wanted an all white pallete, so you didn’t know where to tap to enter text...Also, the removal of visual buttons (replaced with icons) wasn’t as practical nor visually appealing for me.Apple forced the white screen nonsense on us years ago, glad they gave the choice for dark mode because it’s easier on the eyes
