Anyone know why his account was suspended?
I've chatted with Steven from Nanostate, he mentioned one of the admins kicked him off the forums because he posted installation videos in this thread. He meant well because he was here actively answering people's questions in regards to Onyx and their orders.

Hey Guys, I haven't seen a thread dedicated to this but this is for those who are looking to protect the Jet Black finish while not hiding the finish completely.

I've seen a few people talk about the Onyx drops from Nanostate and some of the various cases and skins. Post what you purchased here so we can all find the best product for everyone!

I plan on using it like a regular phone and then next year buying the new one.

This is what I ordered. Anyone use one of these? I prefer the Spigen ones like this, but they don't have a clear one for the 7 yet, just the 6/6s.

I've been using a Spigen case that looks very like that since my 7 Plus arrived 10 days ago. My partner has one on her 7 also. It looks awful on the JB though, so I'm switching to an AlienSkin when it arrives. It's been shipped so not long now.

Hey guys i just installed my Best Skin Ever rear full coverage film on my JB 7+.

After seeing some people getting residue after removing their bSE film, now I'm wondering if I should take it off before its too late?

This is my first time DIY'ing my own wet install and eh I'm only 60% satisfied, I got some dents in it from scraping the water off with a card made for this purpose and there is definitely some small signs of lint, this stuff is not easy...

I had dents too. Took it off today. Hated the dents.

What do you mean by dents? I've used best skins ever for a long time now and have never heard of it causing dents lol.

Installation video = "back door" advertising. He deserved to get banned. Good job mods!

Small dents not gaping, but to exist before the job is even done is a little frustrating. The more frustrating thing is that this has to be done in a completely lint free environment...

I'm using a Slickwraps naked glossy and had to install a second one but I took my time and was extremely careful with the second install. I even cut two corner flaps that were slightly long.

It looks 99% perfect and I appreciate the scratch protection. When I hand my phone to friends they don't realize there is a skin but once I tell them to look at the corners closely they can tell. For me the glossy resembles the Jet Black finish.

No wonder they give you two!

I'm also trying to get a refund. I'd be okay if it actually worked, but it doesn't (you can see my previous review/thread).

I have been using BSE for the longest time and have never had any issues with their product.
One of the best ways to install any wet skin is to do so in the bathroom while running a very hot shower. Let the steam build for a few minutes, then shut off the water. The steam will keep the dust at bay and you will get a near flawless install. The next thing to do is to get yourself some packing tape and cover the entire back of the phone while you prepare the skin. I always mix a bowl with water and dish soap large enough to accommodate the skin. I remove the skin while in the water so as not to expose it to the air yet. Once the backing is removed and the skin is floating, I then remove the packing tape from the back of the phone. Once removed, I immediately apply the wet skin. You should have a flawless install with no trapped dust particles. If you do encounter the stray particle, Use the packing tape to remove it.

Also, to avoid any denting of the skin, make sure to wet what ever your using to push the water bubbles out. It should slide across the skin. I use a rubber squeegee i got from a ZAG skin.

Hello Guys,

I'm Steve from Nanostate, the makers of Onyx the nanotechnology coating for the jet black.

The Onyx coating will be fine for light users, if your a heavy or rough user then we would not recommend it. We have received a lot of emails from people who think the product is bullet proof, Onyx is limited to what it can do, if you get a key and scratch hard then it will penetrate the coating or if you dig a coin in to the surface it will do the same. This product is really for people who take care of there devices.

For the more rugged user we have Alien Skin which is a Nano film like no others on the market, it's super clear and almost invisible and can only be seen on close inspection, from our tests the gloss finish is not effected once the film is applied.

I would love to answer any questions people have if it's about our products or others as protective surfaces is my field.
[doublepost=1478695515][/doublepost]I am from India & I ordered onyx on 20th October 2016 but I still haven't received the product. My order number is 117. I tried contacting through email but no one is replying. Can I know when will I receive the product as I haven't received any tracking number either.

@chfilm

Thanks for the questions :)

So how is onyx applied?
Just 3 drops from the bottle / 3 coats

Will it protect the phone from those micro scratches everyone is so afraid of?

That's a bit of a tricky question, for example some types of sand have some very hard minerals inside quartz being the main offender of micro scratches, if it's just day to day dirt and dust then it's not a problem. With a case as you well know that over time it accumulates dirt and dust and can still scratch your phone.

I'm too paranoid, can't even have the iPhone 6s without a leather case, after it fell down and the screen shattered horribly...
Our Alien Skin film has shock resistance as well, the videos can be seen on our website (I don't want to post any links and be accused of spamming, I'm genuinely here to answer questions not promote our products)

And please tell us some more info about the alien skin. It's like a regular protective film but better?
The Alien Skin & Shock Stopper (front screen protector) are not normal PET films that other full body skin companies use, these are all from China and pretty poor performance, our film is imported from... Germany :) We then top coat it with self healing properties, then cut in to the phones shapes.

At some point the edges always looked nasty or there was some air trapped inside
Some of the cheap films go a yellow colour and this can look like the film is dirty, our film has anti-yellow properties so we don't have this issue.

The application is very easy and bubble free, you can see that on our website. For some reason your skin gets damaged or beyond use you can get a replacement for free (just shipping costs) it has a life time guarantee.

Hope that answers some of your questions.

If I get 10 requests for the following offer in this post then we will setup a coupon number on checkout and include the Alien Skin back piece for your jet black with your purchase of Onyx exclusively for mac rumour members. How does that sound ? That way you have double protection with a lifetime guarantee.

After 15 min it can be tricky that's why we say 5 mins to make sure there is no problems

I got the jet black and I kinda regret it now. I wish I had gotten the rose gold but it's only for a year so I will hold onto it. I plan to use the Apple leather case.
