Same thing. It's an Winterboard error. Remove all your themes and then try again.
The messed up part is that I dont have Winterboard or any themes (removed 5 icon dock also)

I followed the instructions, rebooted and was still getting the red !. I verified that my carrier settings (settings>general>about) were 5.5. I then reset my network settings (settings>general>network>cellular data network> reset settings), then rebooted. MMS now works.
Not seeing Cellular Data Network, let alone Reset Settings Sure youre on 5.5 and not 5.1?
If your coming from 5.1 to 5.5 then you will see Cellular Data Network. If not then you go to General/Reset/Reset Network Settings
I must be really dumb, but...
I download the file, it saves on my desktop as a zipped folder, so, I extract and save the extracted folder on my desktop. Then I run the cmd prompt, no problems there. Then I open itunes, shift/click update, change the file type, but here's where I have trouble.
I find the downloaded folder on my desktop, and open it, all it does is open the main folder revealing subfolders, the first of which is called Payload. Then I open that, it just keeps opening sub folders, until I end up with a group of files with different languages. Nothing I open actually installs the carrier file. I could swear I'm doing everything mentioned in the instructions.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Ari
Ok, once you save it, try NOT extracting it. and try using the file itself. (I'm thinking you might have your zip program set to open .ipcc files)
Why would anyone install the 5.5 carrier and expect not to loose tethering?
I stayed on 5.0 and I have MMS and tethering.
Until someone comes up with a carrier 5.5 replacement...install 5.0 manually.
Ok This does not work ive done everything to a tee and still not been able to get MMS i even went to another comoputer winxp and it will not show up on the desk or anything, am i doing something wrong???????????
Yes you are doing something wrong. Majority of people in this thread have it working perfectly.
What exactly isn't working for you?
Ok i save the carrier setting to the desk top and when i open itunes i shift and then update at the sametime of course and when i try to open the file under the ipcc it will not do anything..... what gives
