So I updated iTunes, and I still don't see MMS on my phone. Regular 3G Software is 3.1 and iPhone is up to date. Using a new MacBook Pro.

Nevermind. Turned phone on and off, and was there. Now getting red exclamation points. :(

Well, when you shift click the ipcc file in Itunes, and the ipcc is stored to the iphone, It doesn't look like it does anything. Then you have to reboot your iphone and you will see the difference.

Maybe my prob is i dont have the right file does it have to be a ipcc file or a zip, because i dont just have to ipcc file downloaded

OMG. I just got off the phone with Apple/AT&T after over an hour. I called Apple they called and verified stuff with AT&T. First AT&T lady was useless, so he called back and got another one. We finally got my MMS fixed. I sent a picture to my GF, it worked. The AT&T lady sent me a picture.. i finally got it. Got off the phone with them.. back to red exclamation points. WTF.

Update: WTF. lol. Now.. they ARE sending, but showing up to me as failed. Still can’t receive.

The thing is that when i download it it saves as a zip file and thats whats not showing up, but i had to get the file from another forum, but thanks for your help. so its finnaly working.

Cool, glad you've got it working. Post up the link you used for me to add to the first post also.

Tried resetting my network settings per the suggestion of someone in this thread. Still no dice. Red exclamation mark. Definitely running the 5.5 icc file. There has to be something going on that is not being explained, or perhaps some Cydia app that we're running that is conflicting. I can't get it working on two phones here (3GS).

Tried it repeatedly.. doesn’t work for me. I’m on a 3.0 jailbroken 3GS. I just keep getting the stupid red exclamation crap.

Exact same for me. Im on 3.0 with a jailbroken 3GS. No luck here. Called ATT and they insist I update to 3.1 which isnt going to happen.

Just to confirm, I now have the 5.5 carrier and also tethering as well. My iPhone is jail broken with firmware 3.0.1. Both tested for a good 30 minutes and have not experienced any difficulties.

Which text messaging plan are you on? I was on TMS4 ($8.99 for 1500 messages) and they told me that the plan isn't compatible with the iphone (this despite the fact that I've been on that plan for well over a year). Anyway, I had them remove the MMS Opt-out from my account, I reset my network settings, rebooted my phone, made a call and I was able to send MMS messages. The girl did say that she had to add a pay-per-use option to my account but she said that I shouldn't be charged since I have unlimited data and a text messaging plan. I'm going to keep a close eye on my bill to make sure that I'm not charged $.30/message.

I'm on B2B 750 texts. I can't make this work, no matter what. Calling AT&T today to see what they can tell me...

Now all AT&T needs to do is release tethering.

Oh wait they struggling to support MMS.

TMS4 is a B2B SMS only plan.

Ask them to remove the MMS Opt-out option if you still have it on your account. You can see if you having it by logging in to OLAM and looking under "Manage Features".

Do this: Call them, confirm any info they need. Tell them you ARE on 3.1 and if they can’t fix it, which they probably can’t, ask them to delete all of your features/plans and re-add them, and resync the info in their system. Mention that you read on here that is how someone else had theirs fixed so that they will do it. I did that and mine is finally working.

I'm not opting out under the Manage Features. The lady at AT&T thinks the reason for my issues is outages. So... they can't help.

Finally found a version of the 5.5 file on the net that saved to my desktop as an actual file, as opposed to a zipped folder which I couldn't get to work no matter how hard I tried.

So I now have mms, and was able to keep my benm tethering hack since I stayed on 3.0.1, so all is good. :)

However, one odd thing, could just be a coincidence, but since adding 5.5 I notice very erratic wifi reception, dont recall seeing this before in my home. Anybody else notice this?

Just rename the whole .ZIP folder to .IPCC. An IPCC basically is a ZIP. It will work fine. It will be ATT_US.IPCC

I tried that, but when I leave the folder intact, and zipped, which is the way it saves on my desktop, when I go to look for it in itunes, it doesn't show, it only shows once I extract it to an unzipped version of the folder. My computer is not an old one, so, it should be working pretty much the same way most PCs are. Any further ideas are most welcome! :)

Confirming that I updated to the 5.5 carrier file following instructions at the top of this thread and the benm tethering still works - I'm tethered now on my Windows 7 PC and have confirmed that IP traffic is actually going through the tethered connection.

iTunes 9.0.1
iPhone version 3.0.1
Carrier AT&T 5.5
Windows 7

using the easy benm Profile tethering hack still works fine. Again, it is actually working - I'm using it now. I'm not seeing any difference in how tethering works before / after installing the 5.5 carrier file.

Also confirmed that I have the ability to send MMS - although I haven't seen the message come through on the receiving phone yet, but that's AT&T's issue :).

Really! I still have my iphone version 3.0 and bemn tethering. My OS is Window XP Pro. Tethering still work after installing AT&T 5.5?

fianlly i got it to work thanks to all you fello jailbreakers who dont want to update to 3.1 yet. it wasnt working cause i had a different carrier logo installed on cydis. F U apple!!!!!!!
