Any chance of a screenshot on the apps using the most battery please? :p

Yeah Facebook is a huge drain. Better to use it in the web browser tbh

Hey, I even use Clips.

The enormous battery life has come from using a black wallpaper and smart invert and grayscale (among other adjustments)—mostly out of curiosity. The battery savings are indeed considerable but smart invert and grayscale aren't practical for my preferences.

Obviously it's not practical but seeing the difference it can make is interesting

I agree. iPhone X has the best battery life of any smartphone out there right now. I couldn't be happier with how infrequently I need to charge this beauty.
Sorry, but it‘s just not true. The 7+ was WAY better. 1-2 hours better that is.

I‘m not sure how people here get their crazy good battery times, if everyone has dark mode turned on and uses a black wallpaper and doesnt make phone calls at all...

Apple themselves state on their website that battery life is worse than on the 7+, and real world experience lines up with that statement completely for me.

I get that Apple themselves said the 8 Plus lasts about an hour longer than the X.

But every single battery test on YouTube says otherwise. What gives?

Heres a new one.

I am thinking that is because the battery test don’t have them using Face ID, which is almost always at the ready

I think some perspectives needs to be shared when it comes to battery life. I don’t know how people are getting the bad battery life they are getting. I personally don’t have the screen at full brightness. IMO there is just no reason to have it. I have no problem seeing the screen even in sunlight. That might be the only time I turn the screen brightness up. I am literally doing whatever I want on the phone and have about 50 percent around bed time. This phone battery has taken me back to the blackberry early days of phones. That was a time you didn’t even have to think about having a charger on you.

You must not use your phone much at all. I don’t care how much you turn the screen brightness down, getting 50% at bedtime is unheard of if you actually have to use your phone. Sure about 20% or below would make since, but 50% means you can’t be really using your phone.

My 7+ was awful on battery. There appeared to be some kind of drain that I could never to get to the bottom of. I'd usually get home from work with about 15% battery but with the X I'm getting home with over 60%. It took a few days to stabilise but I'm really pleased with it right at the moment.

Hmm, that is an interesting idea. Not using Face ID so its not sitting there ready and waiting. I'll go today with just using the password and see how it goes. My sister doesnt use either security feature, to each their own!

Isn’t there a feature that checks if you’re looking at the screen? It prevents the phone from dimming the screen. Maybe that’s using a lot of battery?

All I can say is I use it for everything. Just as much as my last phone.

You have to put some prospective to what a normal day looks like for you. For some of us a normal day is using the phone a lot more then others. Your blanket statement that it should not be running down so fast might be a bit off based on usage.

Having read these posts I think my X must have some sort of super battery. I’ve come from a 7 and have been blown away by the improvement in battery life.

I’m consistently going to bed after 16 hours of usage including 1-2 hours of navigation with at least 20%.

Today my X has had 3hr 10mins of usage, 12hr 33min on standby and I’ve got 68% battery. Such a huge improvement.

My battery life on my X is excellent.
I notice on most of these screen shots and on my iPhone that Home and Lock Screen is a high percentage of usage. Is that the face-id camera etc? I thought OLED was supposed to use less power that old screens so I'd expect less power from home and lock screen???

I start my day between 4:30am and 5:15am depending on gym/work and I typically head home around 6:30pm. I am coming from a 6+ that I had to either charge during the day or charge the entire drive home in the evening or I would be in low battery mode. With the X I have not had to put on a charger before I go to bed yet. My usage has not changed any since being on the 6+. With that said, I have to proclaim that I am loving the battery on the X so far.

I was able to get 10.5 Hours of use and 12.5 of Standby going from 100%diwn to 10% by placing my X in low power mode as soon as I took it off the charger. I didn’t change to grayscale nor smart invert.

With my 7 I used the SmartBattery Case to get thru the day. On a 7+ I could blow thru the battery by the afternoon.
