At 27%. Now charging as I don't like to let my devices get this low.

So on Sunday AM with iOS 11.1.2 installed I was at about 10 hours of standby and almost 5 hours of use with 67% battery left.

But I finally broke down and had to upgrade to iOS 11.2, and today after similar standby and usage my battery is at 45%.

Hopefully after a few days iOS 11.2 will settle down and go back to the previous battery life numbers. My usage was not exactly the same, but that's been the case for every day that I've posted my numbers in the past. I'm going to be up for the next 6 hours, so I'll check the stats again before bed.

Well, I'm heading to bed with 8h 25m usage and 16h 58m standby, with 17% left. I could read my Kindle book for another couple of hours if I could stay awake long enough.

So iOS 11.2 battery performance is starting to go back to where it was on 11.1.2 last weekend. I mostly used the iPhone X today, with almost no iPad during that time.

I came from a 7 Plus and was getting around 6hrs use before the phone would be dead. No battery design capacity or charge capacity issues. Something on iOS 11 was just killing the phone.

My daily pattern is fairly similar.
Between 3-5hrs of Personal Hotspot whilst in work as there’s no internet.
1-2hrs on Waze depending on where I need to be for work.
Use Safari especially for Facebook. But still find it is a lot more power hungry than I’d like.
Mix of WhatsApp (which again kills the phone as I can’t seem to stop it’s excessive background activity even with contacts privacy off) and a few other apps make up the rest of the time.

This is where I’m currently at. I always put the phone in Airplane mode when at home as the mobile signal is shocking (1bar only). So easier to use my fibre broadband.

No low power mode either.

I updated OTA to 11.2, guessing that could be a reason for some bugs / battery drain, Whatsapp is the main culprit for me since 11.2.
OTOH, the Kindle app is still not optimised for iPhone X, how do you do such lengthy reading stints despite?

With the current Kindle app on my iPhone X I read my books with black background and white text, and that extends the battery life so much that I can get over 11 hours of usage on a charge over a 16 hour day, with 7-8 hours of that in Kindle and still use the other apps and phone.

What I hate about reading on the phone in dark mode is that the white home bar at the bottom of the screen is brighter than the white text on the page, and it's distracting.

Today, with 3.5 hours of Kindle, and over an hour of phone calls and almost an hour of iMessages, I had 6.5 hours of Usage over 12.5 hours off the charger, and still had 34% of battery left.

My battery drain is at a steady rate, and not faster as I get lower, so I'd have expected over 9 hours usage and 16 hours of standby if I hadn't plugged in and just continued reading my book until bedtime tonight.

Without thinking I plugged my X into the iMac to sync and backup, and now I can't complete the battery test for today.

Average battery life between 8-9

Using you iPhone X for different things either increases or decreases the battery
A perfect example would be listening to music while it counts as usage screen is off and battery lasts longer
Point is that Apple needs to improve battery life in the next iPhone
Eventually they will just like it took them forever to get rid of the bezels

OMG! Finally I’m hitting 10 hours of usage! I’m sitting at 9 hours with still 15% left! No low power mode! Heavy usage! First time ever I’ll hit 10 hours on an iPhone! Glad I made this $1300 investment! Paid all cash too! I think it all comes down to how you use your phone and how much you put that pressure on that running chip!

Lucky you. I can hit 10 only if I listen to music, else it sits at 7-8 hours.

A little unintelligible topic for me.
Nowadays the phone should work without charging at least one day.
After that there is a charger to recharge it :)

If for some reason you have a problem with charging your Xphone, buy a pocket powerbank (it will charge itself).

Things have turned for the worse now, with 11.2.1. I’m at 4 hours usage over 10 hour standby, and battery is down to 30%. No difference in usage pattern.
Only thing left to try is setup as new iPhone as I had previously restored from backup, or just keep my fingers crossed and expect some 11.2.5 to do some miracle.

Yesterday I got 8h 37m Usage and 17h 14m Standby before hitting 21% on my X by bedtime, which dropped to 20% while taking the three screenshots below. I used the phone a good bit during the day for Surfing, Kindle, Phone calls, and messages/email.

I still wonder why Safari uses so much battery, since it's not like gaming or something.

Safari does use a lot of battery I agree! But your battery life is solid! You were hitting 10 hours of usage easily what happened?

What happened was likely less Kindle time and more Safari use than before, plus a bit more time spent in the sunlight with auto-brightness turned on, but I still had 20% left with 8.7 hours of use. If I'd read Kindle for a couple of hours I'd likely have been over 10 hours of use and about 20 hours of standby with 5% left.

Tonight I'm at 6h 34m usage and 15h 45m standby, with 61% left, but most of todays use was Kindle eBooks, with a little mail, messages, and phone calls...

Heavy usage today, 10% left.
5 hrs 40 min
10 hours standby

Lots of photos/ videos (almost 100!) and social media today, all on LTE.

Can’t remember the last time I saw 10hrs! Even taking the 2hrs of Sonos playback out the equation it’s still pretty impressive given I was using hotspot for 4hrs today.

I dont use Flipboard otherwise i would test it. What says your battery in the settings? Standby and usage are the same on my X...

I think normal use are good, I have more than 50% left everyday, heavy use (youtube or games) drains quickly
