Ah I see. Looks like you tried out every single thing possible. I wouldn't fair well with battery like that either. Hopefully you get that fixed soon. Must be a pain to deal with. Why can't these gadgets (esp something that cost nearly a grand) come with perfection right? Hopefully I won't have to deal with that once mine comes in. Best of luck.

I don't expect perfection (this is real life after all :)), but I do expect for my battery to last as long as it's supposed to, especially when the majority of others are able to get hours more usage out of their devices with usage that is similar to mine. I could have a device come out of the box chipped, scratched, you name it, and I'd be fine as long as the battery performed as it is supposed to. If the battery life is crappy, I'll keep returning and continue to get replacements until the battery is on par with what others are seeing.

Very unimpressed with my 5s battery in first 24hrs with th phone so far. Was getting much much better with my 4S lasting at least all day. 5s dropping % every few minutes. After full charge and taking phone off at 100% this morning, only in two and a half hours, it is at 39% This will not last even half a shift at work. I can't have a phone which does not last at least 10+ hours per charge!!!

It has only been 24hrs and one full charge though. Should I give it a more chance or the writing is on the wall within first 24 hours with this performance and get a replacement? Pain to go to the store and don't know if my 64GB space grey will be in stock and then again to restore everything

If it's bad take it to apple. I will be taking my phone to the apple store soon as I can get a genius appointment. Last night I went to bed with 95% battery. Woke to it being 79% and within an hour it was down to 41% so definetly getting it replaced!

Thanks. Just a stupid question but when you take a phone back for possible replacement, do u have to take it boxed with all accessories? Or just the phone?

Just the phone, they will literally just give you an iPhone too, no accessories or anything.

If you have every feature activated and your brightness above 50% and a bad cellular connection then your battery life will be much worse. Also depends on what you're doing on your phone. A lot of graphically intense games means a lot of battery drain.

Check one of my above posts. I usually keep everything off & pretty conservative when it comes to new battery intensive settings. Plus I'm not that much of a gamer. I have games on my 5s, but rarely ever play them.

I have pretty much every setting turned on (no Bluetooth though). 4 email accounts - 2 fetch/IMAP @ 30 minutes, 1 push exchange, 1 push iCloud. Most of this usage was over the course of 2 work days. A few YouTube videos, lots of texting and Facebook.

Airplane mode while u sleep ?

Apple store won't do anything (Rockaway, NJ) I tried that with my AppleCare.

After that I called Apple 1800 again and they had me do a hard rest without adding anything like iCloud and let it charge overnight. After 9 hours of charging I had 100% on the phone. I unplugged my 5s and it dropped down to 98% without me doing anything to it.

I'm now waiting to see if Apple calls me back today! If not I will be returning it back to Bestbuy ASAP and getting my 4s connected again.

(Day 1,on my first charge it started getting really hot, and every-other charge after that. The drop down to 98% after charging overnight started happening a week later)

That happened to me all the time on my JB 4s. All I had to do was a quick Respring & it was fixed. This also happens with my 5s from time to time. Turning off then back on after a few minutes also fixes it. I'm not worried at all about the false positive % reading, I'm sure a few battery cycles will fix.

My battery life is very good. This was mine at the end of the night for me yesterday.

I used my iPhone 5s at work from full charge to about 28% on AT&T LTE, then headed home at 7pm and used my phone on wifi for a while and headed to bed. Bluetooth on, Wifi on, automatic updates, background refresh and auto brightness on. Did lots of web surfing, looked at a few videos and photos. Got my phone on launch date, ran the phone til it turned off, fully recharged to 100% then left it on for additional 2 hours to trickle charge and top it off. Did that twice so far. This will be the third time. Then I'll charge it whenever for the most part. I get the new iPhone every year.

I stopped using windows mobile, because I had to keep (Turning off/on or down, things I used, pulling the battery out, resetting and waiting to see if they would release an update)

P.S (All the updates and new models had the same problem)

This was mine after heavy use and playing empire four kingdoms for a good while. I would say it's pretty ok. Going through a few charge cycles now.

Sometimes i get 10hours of usage out of my 5S, sometimes it's only 8. Depends on how and where i use it.
Wifi uses less power, cellular consumes a lot more.

And somehow my cellular data consumption is a lot higher since iOS 7.....don't know why

I've done 3 complete recharge and discharge cycles and my battery has definitely improved. I'm at 57% and have 5.5 hours of standby and 4 hours usage. So just estimating I'll have 8 hours of usage by the time I hit 0%. I think it's more of an issue with calibration than the batteries their selfs. I seem to remember the 4S having battery issues. Mine wouldn't hold a charge for more than 4 hours. Apple released an update, and it was fixed.

Steaks posts about 7+ hours of battery life are getting my jimmies all rustled and making me sad about my consistent 5 hr 30 mins usage :(
