Looks like AT&T won't sell the HTC 10 in their stores.

In HTC’s press release for the HTC 10, you probably noticed that AT&T wasn’t listed as one of the carriers expected to sell the phone. That’s because AT&T isn’t selling the HTC 10. Yes, you are reading that correctly – the 2nd biggest wireless carrier in the US isn’t selling HTC’s 2016 flagship phone.

So far, looks like a solid and standard 2016 update to their flagship. The design still doesn't do it for me; those giant chamfered edges are something!

Software looks clean and nice.

Looking forward to reviews and hands on.
I am hesitant......not a phone i would replace one of my current phones with tbh. Plus it needs to be 5.5 for me to consider.

Why would they need the carriers?

Straight from HTC unlocked, no carrier bloat, and 1 year protection for $699? Trade ins accepted. Plus 12 months no interest. Good job HTC.

Aside from the waterproofing, specs so far are showing this as good as the S7. With the unlocked options and software changes, I am going to say better personally.

I actually quite like this phone. They did quite a lot of the things I wanted with it and then some:
-Removal of the front logo
-Capacitive buttons
-Good software
-Improved camera
-Solid build

Some disappointments though:
-Small screen
-LCD
-Chunky bezels

If it weren't for the screen size I would probably consider this phone. All around very solid HTC.

Big slap in the face for HTC.

With no AT&T version, it means no VoLTE or VoWiFi compatibility.

The slap in the face is to AT&T. Now people don't have to be locked to their awful Next plan or pay upgrade fees. And of course all the tons of bloat and ugly carrier branding. It is black eyes for the phone manufacturers.

This is a positive move. People need to come out from under the carrier rock.

Got a Moto X Pure new for $299, with me already having the S7 Edge as well and the unlocked M10 being the only one I would consider I would need to wait for a price drop on it.
Don't worry, it will price drop pretty quickly! This is an HTC phone after all.

Not everyone buys online. Having no presence in a carrier store is pretty significant. Especially AT&T.

Just ask any of the OEMs, like Motorola or Nokia (pre Microsoft) how that worked out for them.

Oh I agree. I wish all phone vendors would sell an unlocked model direct from their website!
All the buzz is pretty positive about the M10!!! Great job HTC!

No they don't.

For example, none of the Nexus phones have VoLTE or VoWiFi calling support on AT&T. Same with the non-AT&T Priv, Etc. only TMobile allows this (but that's a topic for a different time)

Only the unbranded iPhones have been white-listed to work no matter what.

This seems like it may finally be the HTC phone I've been wanting since the One M8. Yes, front facing stereo speakers are gone, but I love their dedication to a good audio experience via headphones as my phone is always my primary music player.

I'm not so sure we will see HTC drop prices much down the road. Look at what they're still selling the One M9 and the A9 for.

So, I've preordered the unlocked Silver to use on AT&T. I'm rooting for HTC. Love the simplification of app offerings down to primarily Google apps. Seems like a very smart thing to do.

Let's hope the reviews are positive, especially concerning battery life. If they're not, then I'll cancel my preorder.

BB has had the AT&T variant M9 for $249. I bought it back when and even at that price I returned it.

I tried the M9 and returned it too. It was, literally, hot garbage. But like a lot of us on here, I have an affinity for HTC. So I'm gonna give it a go. If it's as good as I'm hoping, it'll be worth the money.

I gotta tell you, ironically, now that I'm on Jump on Demand, I don't want to switch. I want to keep my S7E for as long as I can because it's just that good.

Anyway, back to HTC...

Yeah, I'll await reviews and hands on before I make any decision. I don't think I'll be swayed, but I do hope this does well for HTC. I personally don't think it'll save them.

M9 was garbage that I returned as well. Anatech first impressions showing promise here.

Subjectively, for whatever reason navigation does feel noticeably smoother and responsive compared to the Galaxy S7, especially when dealing with long scrolling lists in apps like Reddit is Fun. I’m not sure if the HTC 10 is actually smoother here or if Samsung is just doing something different when it comes to touchscreen response because it’s entirely plausible that the Galaxy S7 just gives less momentum to a swipe, but it’s something I’ll have to test with more than just subjective testing. Regardless, something as simple as swiping through the app drawer causes what looks like dropped frames on the S820 GS7 while the HTC 10 is flawlessly smooth here.

Hot garbage?

That's exactly how I'd describe HTC post M7

Isn't the $699 price historically higher than HTC's previous years' flagships?

I think that price might be a mistake given their position in the market right now...

So I'm still catching up on everything but I went to HTC's website to look for release date info, whether there's an unlocked version (HTC gets big props for this!!) and also see T-Mobile and AT&T versions. So I'm confused about the comments that regarding AT&T---is it just that they aren't selling it in stores? I don't understand why there'd be a different AT&T variant necessary if it's only being sold online.

Also, the one video I saw mentioned 32GB onboard storage but the specs on HTC's website show both a 32GB and 64GB version--anyone see mention of this elsewhere and is it only for an exclusive model?
