I am toying with buying one ....

Will decide within next 24 hours whether to do so, it's quite pricy at 700-750 euro and I'm concerned resale value will be poor given previous HTC handsets resalability.

My Note 5 I just traded in for $300 goes for resale for $350 on Swappa. It was like $650 5 months ago.

Android is worthless in resale, it should never be a consideration.

Of course it should be a consideration. Money doesn't grow on trees ....

Especially if you buy as many phones as I tend to, the more money I lose on resale the less phones I can afford to buy going forward.

When it comes out on T-mobile I can get it at any time but I think I'll be keeping the Note 5 around for awhile, maybe even until the Note 6.

You must have JoD too. I want to see the HTC 10 in my hand first before I decide if I want to get it. But more than likely i will jump to the Note 6 next.

Jamezr, me and you are constantly of the same frame of mind, it would seem.

Personally, after a quick experience with project fi, I am back on T-mobile. Fi was amazing and I hope it grows, but I moved back to tmobile due to the recent family rate (unlimited for $30 a line...can't beat it).

Anyway, I mention the above because I, technically, two jumps left between now and next March. That being said, my tmobile store swears the system doesn't keep track. They, personally, have jumped many more time than allotted. My buddy, who doesn't work at T-mobile but uses JOD, has jumped about seven times in 11 months.....so take that as you will.

Anyway, I love my s7 edge, though I have seen some weird issues lately (may need a factory reset), but I love, in theory, the new m10. It doesn't have water proofing, the battery is smaller, HTC is a less stable company, and the screen is smaller and "less" quality. But the device seems to be a pure utilitarian device, with great looks and functionality. It has a refined design, dependable camera, etc, etc, and a near stock android approach with promised fast updates. Simply it is the best HTC has to offer, with close ties and semblance of google vision for a smart phone. Because of this, and because HTC is desperate, I think this phone might end up being one of the best of 2016. I could honestly see it getting nexus-like updates, frequency wise (carrier interference is another matter, though).

Maybe I am just getting that "new phone" itch, or maybe its my fond memories of the HTC M7; all combined with superb reviews. But I think I might give it a try, since I have a few jumps to go.

I may or may not get the m10, but I am leaning towards it for now. It might serve as a great in-between until I get the full run down of the next note and the next nexus device.

I hope people give this phone a chance. I think that android is hitting a point where it is near perfect, and google is still pushing forward; preventing stagnation. I think the most important thing for android now is how the hardware and software mesh. We see what a company like Samsung can produce when they put their mind to it. The s7 hardware is so good, and the software is pretty damn good too. Imagine if Samsung took HTC's approach? Allowing Google's vision to be the face of the software, and filling in the gaps where its need (camera app and processing, game launcher, etc). This would be my dream phone. Again, I love the s7, and even the software....but I still prefer stock android in most aspects.

HTC is attempting to create "my dream phone", and thyu have done a great job. Hopefully, if HTC's recent phone is a success, this will push Samsung towards a similar approach; and maintain a level of competition in the android hardware world, other than upcoming Chinese phones (some great products) with overbearing software.

I hope the above makes sense, I am rather tired this morning.

I have jumped probably......7 times in the last year just on one of the 3 lines I have on TMO. I am pretty friendly with the local TMO store staff and asked them about the jump limit. They just smile and tell me not to worry about it.....

I am really excited about the HTC 10 but it might be a little small for my tastes. I generally like bigger phones like the 6s+, N5, 6P. I love my S7 edge but sometimes it feels small to me because it has almost no bezel or anything to hold onto.

I know for sure i will get the Note 6, Nexus 7 (or whatever they call the next one), iPhone 7 plus.

I still want to see the HTC 10 in person before I get it. But I am leaning on getting one to try it out. The reviews have just been glowing!

Samsung needs someone other than Apple to keep pushing them.

I was told one cannot JOD until at least half of the smartphone's retail value is paid off with installments if nothing is put down up front.

I am a noob with this, the Note 5 was the first one I got on t-mobile JOD plan. I paid off half the Note 5 up front so I'm good to go. Seems like I did not have to do that? I am leary now because you folks are jumping like crazy and if I jump quickly the money I put down on the Note 5 is out the window, isn't it when I go to the next smartphone?

There is a difference between Jump on Demand and the Jump program.

JoD is

How did you get that deal? I have the 3 lines for $150 and 4th line free deal with unlimited. I can't find a $30 a line unlimited plan.

I jumped on the 4 lines for $120 deal, and added a fifth line. I pay $150 for 5, so $30 a piece.
Man, that's an awesome deal. Wish I had known about it. Though my $37 a line isn't too bad, but it would be another $50 if I add another line.

Wow just read the 10 will have native wifi calling support and VoLTE support, and so far it's been tested on Tmobile and works. I'd be curious to see if it works on AT&T. Makes this phone tempting if it wasn't so chunky and plain looking. Definitely another decision to make when the Note 6 comes out.

Crap, if it works with AT&T then it makes my decision that much harder. Crappy AT&T reception at my house and having to use that god-awful Microcell may force my hand. Very nice HTC, very nice. At the very least if I get a 10 it will match my Vive, lol.
[doublepost=1461787930][/doublepost]Wait, I just realized no wireless charging on the 10. Bleh, that's a deal breaker for me, I love wireless charging. That's the main reason I am not keeping my 6p and going back to my Note 5. Sigh...

You didn't realize it was a metal phone?? ;)

Actually, HTC said they found a nice way to do wireless charging with the HTC 10 through metal (might be BS), but they opted for wicked quick USB C charging.

LG G5 dropped from $440 to $408 new on Swappa in one week lmao.

LG G5 was a dud the day it was announced. A tiny 2,800mAh battery and 5.3" screen, and weird painted metalish type body ? Yuck, no thanks.

And throw the crappy LG UI on top of that = pure garbage.

I haven't seen that much of a drop in their flagship phones one month in. The V10 is probably worth more.

Gas prices swing more than that...

But, it's just a funny LG observation.

It unfortunately is funny. LG really dropped the ball this year.

They really did.....I went to my local TMO store cause yesterday and checked out the G5 again. Such a "meh" phone to me.
Then that painted back would seem to be a scratch waiting to happen.
But one of the reps had a HTC 10 and let me look at it for a few. What a nice handset! Very nice feel in the hand The build quality reminds me of the first time the first time i saw the M7.
It was very fast and responsive. Didn't have time to checkout Sense. The FP scanner is stationary. It is not a button but just a FP scanner like the 6P but it is not round but oblong. I like this better than having to push a button/FP scanner to wake/unlock my phones....but that is just personal preference.
I wish Samsung and Apple would adopt this from the 6P and HTC 10. No more having to push on the FP scanner home button to wake unlock phones.
