You must have JoD too. I want to see the HTC 10 in my hand first before I decide if I want to get it. But more than likely i will jump to the Note 6 next.
Jamezr, me and you are constantly of the same frame of mind, it would seem.
Personally, after a quick experience with project fi, I am back on T-mobile. Fi was amazing and I hope it grows, but I moved back to tmobile due to the recent family rate (unlimited for $30 a line...can't beat it).
Anyway, I mention the above because I, technically, two jumps left between now and next March. That being said, my tmobile store swears the system doesn't keep track. They, personally, have jumped many more time than allotted. My buddy, who doesn't work at T-mobile but uses JOD, has jumped about seven times in 11 months.....so take that as you will.
Anyway, I love my s7 edge, though I have seen some weird issues lately (may need a factory reset), but I love, in theory, the new m10. It doesn't have water proofing, the battery is smaller, HTC is a less stable company, and the screen is smaller and "less" quality. But the device seems to be a pure utilitarian device, with great looks and functionality. It has a refined design, dependable camera, etc, etc, and a near stock android approach with promised fast updates. Simply it is the best HTC has to offer, with close ties and semblance of google vision for a smart phone. Because of this, and because HTC is desperate, I think this phone might end up being one of the best of 2016. I could honestly see it getting nexus-like updates, frequency wise (carrier interference is another matter, though).
Maybe I am just getting that "new phone" itch, or maybe its my fond memories of the HTC M7; all combined with superb reviews. But I think I might give it a try, since I have a few jumps to go.
I may or may not get the m10, but I am leaning towards it for now. It might serve as a great in-between until I get the full run down of the next note and the next nexus device.
I hope people give this phone a chance. I think that android is hitting a point where it is near perfect, and google is still pushing forward; preventing stagnation. I think the most important thing for android now is how the hardware and software mesh. We see what a company like Samsung can produce when they put their mind to it. The s7 hardware is so good, and the software is pretty damn good too. Imagine if Samsung took HTC's approach? Allowing Google's vision to be the face of the software, and filling in the gaps where its need (camera app and processing, game launcher, etc). This would be my dream phone. Again, I love the s7, and even the software....but I still prefer stock android in most aspects.
HTC is attempting to create "my dream phone", and thyu have done a great job. Hopefully, if HTC's recent phone is a success, this will push Samsung towards a similar approach; and maintain a level of competition in the android hardware world, other than upcoming Chinese phones (some great products) with overbearing software.
I hope the above makes sense, I am rather tired this morning.
