Got the HTC 10 and so far it's okay. The screen pales in comparison to the S7 Edge's. The new Boomsound combo to replace dual stereo speakers isn't really that up to HTC's past snuff. The FP scanner/home button feels weird because it's not like the S7 Edge's where you can press all the way down. It certainly much better than the S7 Edge's FP scanner since it's always on. The DAC in the headphones is amazing. I doubt I'll keep it because so far, the phone doesn't feel like it's worth $650.

I am leaning towards staying with the Note 5 to tell the truth, I rather have the unlocked/unbranded variant from HTC. I rather not jump, it is not cost effective to do so considering I have such a small amount to pay off with the Note 5 that t-mobile would handle then I am back to large payments getting the 10

I like the FP on the 10...then at times I don't like it. If that makes sense :)
I like that I don't have to push a button...but hate that holding the phone and casually touching the FP with any part of my hand causes it to turn on the screen.[/QUOTE]

I'm loving the HTC 10 so far. All the problems and annoyances I have with my edge are non existent on the HTC.

I've had it since Friday, and just now getting to the work week. Still, it works how it should, doesn't get in the way, and is the fastest phone I have ever used.

So far this phone is more than the sum of its parts, and thus seems pretty great.

At the end of the day it will be a phone that will suit some of us and won't suit others, there is no right or wrong really.

I have enjoyed it more than I actually thought I would and its a big improvement over the HTC M9. HTC definitely should be applauded for what they have done with it, and it will be interesting to see what the HTC nexus devices bring.

I have a few small gripes with software, one being the constant notification telling me which boom sound profile I have when listening to music / audio / video. Can't seem to turn it off.

Bonus round: picture taken at work with the HTC. Can anyone identify this historic landmark?

Library at Notre Dame right? Was a midwest kid before I moved out west. :) Nice picture!!

Is that the Hesburgh Libraries ?
Yep, it sure is.

Also, in the college football world, it is know as "Touchdown Jesus". The mural is visible from inside the stadium, from the field and stands, and is centered in the uprights (goalpost) at one of the endzones.

Compare the original review, which he wrote, to the second opinion article...and I think you get an accurate story of this phone. On paper it's not better than the gs7, yet there is something about using it that is really impressive.

Like I said, it's more than the sum of its parts. Back in the days of the galaxy s5, this was the argument in favor of the iPhone compared to the beefed up galaxy. There is less of a gap between phones now, but the example holds true here.

The M10 is a great phone. You cannot go wrong with this phone. Not sure I am going to keep it...but that doesn't mean it is not a great phone. Great camera...great software...great overall user experience!

If the price of the phone was $450, it would be worth it. The release of a HTC Nexus makes this phone seem overly priced. I thought I would give it a try to give a fair evaluation. It's a Nexus with HTC features, more or less. Not bad, but it's not saying "I am worth the extra $150 over your S7 Edge price you paid."

But to be fair, it has quite a few major features over the Nexus for $500, external SD card, uh-oh warranty, OIS in front and back camera, more RAM, better DAC and speakers, etc. These things add up. And I wouldn't expect them in the HTC Nexus if it meets the same price point as the 6P.

True, but there are always price drops. HTC has to be aware that it cannot compete on price or outpricing competitors when they have revenue issues. $500 would undercut the Galaxy and make this phone even stronger. But let's compare it to a S7 Edge at $500? Only difference I can see as a plus is less hassles with Samsung's software updates. Maybe I need more time to see if it's worth selling my S7 Edge, but right now it's not really worth it.

Where is the S7 Edge $500?

That's how much I paid brand new off a family member because they went with a Note 5 instead. They wanted the bigger screen. Plus, they didn't like the typing issues. My only gripes with the S7 Edge are software potential and the typing issue. My friends have ignored it and came to terms with it being around. Samsung is beating everyone on the monthly android updates outside of the Nexus line.

The price did not drop on the a9 quickly, that one isn't even half the beast of this one. So I don't expect a drop on this one anytime soon. And that mid ranger was $519, talk about overpriced. :)

The A9 is a joke of a phone at that price lol. Well, that makes me wonder still because the LG hasn't dropped in price yet the secondary resell market dropped to $450 brand new in one month lol.

My card is gonna arrive tomorrow. Here's my results for the class 10.

I'm worried that my Lexar UHS-II 1800x isn't going to be fully utilized in the HTC 10. I'm thinking it only supports up to UHS-1 Class U3.

What do you guys think?
