Has the recent updates increased battery life? HTC 10 battery stats aren't that great tbh.
What SOT times is everyone getting?

I am using the Butterfly governor, but right now, I can get about 5-5.5hrs on full cellular, and about 6.5-7 on wifi. This is with brightness about 60%. Also using ViperROM

EDIT: I am incredibly skeptical of this battery graph. Don't know if they had a bad device or something, but the HTC 10 should be equal to the S7 (non-edge) at the bare minimum. They are basically the same device except HTC 10 has much, much less bloat.

The graph was from an Anandtech article. Anandtech is generally regarded here as pretty factual.
Did you read the article i linked? They explained more in depth about their findings.
The LCD panel HTC used is very power hungry from what I gathered.

Then to be honest.....all the reviews you will see on the internet are with the stock image the phone ships with.
All bets are off if you unlock the bootloader and root and install a custom rom like ViperRom. :)

Is it me or is every recent Android phone looking a lot like the HTC M series? All metal with that single antennae line across the top and bottom of the back with a centered camera.

Right?

One plus 3, leEco, honor 5c. I can't think of it but there are probably more.

HTC design, still influential.

People are getting 6-7 hrs SOT using stock ROM/kernel on XDA. Seems the only benchmark that scored badly for the HTC 10 was Basemark. Web browsing test and GFXBench Battery scored well.

I think you should read the article and look at the data. I can post the graphs here if you like but.....really you should just read the article. The HTC 10 is a very good phone. I love the HTC designs going back to the M7....loved that phone :)

Finally got my hands on one. Having it for a week or so, and I'm delighted with this device. I listen to a lot of music, and this is the best device for that purpose I have ever owned. And I'm a smartphone junkie, so I basically buy and try out all major flagships out there (except Samsung, don't really like their devices :D ).

Only thing missing for me is a better screen. I live in a pretty sunny place, and the screen is ok outdoors, but that's about it. iPhone 6s screen simply destroys it in this department. And this is my main complaint about the device. But a big one :(

Still, I'm keeping this phone. Using it with my iPhone SE for the time being, and the plan is to stop purchasing more phones. This time for sure, since I simply don't believe that any android device can compete with htc 10. Maybe nexus will, but there won't be much to gain switching from htc 10 to nexus, so I'm probably (and hopefully) skip Nexus this year.

I will give more impressions after 2-3 weeks of usage, but this device is kinda easy to explain. It doesn't have any features other android manufactures don't have (except maybe audio?), htc 10 doesn't have the best screen, build quality is excellent (better then iPhone or S7 imho), camera is also pretty good... You get the point. Everything is pretty great to excellent, but nothing to outshine competition.

But that is the main reason I love this device. Every competitor out there has their own sets of failures and problems. HTC 10 simply shines with the package that delivers almost everything right (screen could be a bit better...).

I loved HTC before, but didn't own any of their devices since m7. Welcome back HTC :)

One of the bad things owning an HTC smartphone is resell value. I saw multiple M7's go for under $100. I check out the M8 and they go for $115 with some sellers. Only two years old while I could sell a near three year old iPhone 5 for $200. I check the LG G3 and they sell higher. The removable battery helps. The HTC 10 should cost about the same in two years. Sub-$150 after 18-24 months. Degraded battery by that point. Keeps me second guessing if I really want an HTC Nexus.

HTC has garbage resell value. Help This Company all right.

Price is one of the main problems, that's for sure. But the other and (imho) biggest problem is availability!
I live in Croatia. We have instant access to all phones. HTC was very late to the game, and even now it is nowhere to be seen! I bought one, and it's simply perfect for me.

But no marketing from HTC at all. And in shopping malls you can't even take a look at HTC 10. Average user probably doesn't even know that the device exists at all.

HTC 10 is the best android device of 2016. At least in my book. And it will be a complete failure. First they were 2-3 months late (S7 and G5 came out before htc10), then even when they were officially released, htc 10 was no where to be found!

I almost gave up on waiting... Only thing that stopped me from purchasing something else is the fact that I hate samsung phones :D

HTC is toast. I'll cherish my HTC 10 like my Panny plasma TV. It really is an awesome device.

Too many missteps and it is really hard to transform an older company to become lean and hungry. They couldn't keep up with the new kids.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-...ing-to-sell-1-million-units-this-year_id82901

HTC 10 sales are way below expectations: HTC struggling to sell 1 million units this year

I stand by my initial statement I made when the device was first released: it should have been priced more competitively.

Doesn't help it's not really being pushed here in the States.

ATT doesn't even sell or carry the phone period.
T-Mobile stores like 95% don't stock this phone, and none of them have it in display
Verizon has it, but not really promoting much
Sprint just sucks, no comment.

Those above four carriers account for something like 200 million + subscribers. If they aren't pushing or promoting this phone whatsoever, that's gonna hurt HTC pretty bad right there.

a better place
Same as Ireland, it's available on one carrier (not the biggest carrier at that) as an exclusive and they are not pushing it at all. The only good thing is that resale value is actually holding really well because it's hard to find.

makes sense...The dark gray one is hard to find on awppa too.
Verizon had the HTC 10 first as an exclusive and did nothing to promote it.

Not so good. I mean, good for you, and good for me. But not so good for HTC. I kinda feel sorry for them...

At the same time, if HTC was hungry, they could make it happen. I don't think carriers are required to make it as an OEM. Look at OnePlus. Perhaps one as big as HTC though, yes they do need that leverage.

But for this case, I think it was the carriers who didn't want anything to do with HTC, and they had no other good channels to go through. HTCs direct sales support was a joke through Digital River. That didn't help. No advertising at all either.

We'll see what their Nexus phones sell like this Fall ? But typically Nexus phones are never huge sellers to begin with.

Maybe HTC will go so low, that Google buys them out ?
