I just can't get over the same design, now 3 years in a row. The M7, then the M8, and now the M9, all pretty much the same wrap around metal design, with silly HTC logo bar at the bottom

I don't think HTC can do well, by keeping the exact same design three years in a row. The M9 will show it's age quicker, and look stale after awhile.

What happened to this ?

Would love to know the behind the scenes details, as to why HTC didn't go balls out on a new cooler design, than just copying the M7 / M8 again for the third year in a row ? I bet a lot of people will be questioning why they kept the same deign, after they realize sales aren't as good as the M8 this year. I mean the lame HTC black bar logo, I surely thought that would be gone from the M9, but yawn, it's still there.

Or why not go with the Nexus 9 sort of style that HTC made, and use that for the M9.

And then saying Sense 7 will be available for older HTC phones, down the road later this yera at some point. WTF :( why not pull an Apple or Nexus, and release the update for your previous generation phones at the same time, as the M9 launches ?

I can't wait to get one! Some of you might not be enthused about it but it is just want I was looking for. HTC is building on the game changing design to add better specs and user experience. Sense is the best Android skin out there. Lets see what the new camera can do!

Never liked HTC's designs or Sense. This phone did not change that.

Nothing interesting here.

Just what we needed to end an underwhelming press event ...

An oscar wilde quote .... Our vision of the future is from Oscar Wilde !!!

mmmmmmmm. Underwhelmed severely. A VR headset that won't be out till end of the year and looks like a prototype Samsung ditched .

No I just not feeling it HTC and I was 'really was' so looking forward to this two weeks ago. :(:(:(:(

Wow. The reviews are coming in that the camera STILL sucks. What a major fail, HTC!

Totally agree. I had the One M8, and flashed the GPE ROM, was a great phone, but I have since moved on. I was hoping for those stunning evleaks renders to be the real M9, but man did they let me down. Just feels like the same old thing again, with slightly updated hardware.

I too was hoping this would be another game change phone design, really show the smartphone world something amazing and fresh again. Nope.

I also prefer Sense over Touchwiz.

Let's see Samsung sell a GPE version of the Galaxy S6, running stock Lollipop

I love the One's design. The M8 was a great phone with two issues for me: The OS (I prefer iOS) and the camera. The camera could now be better, but the first videos say that the low light performance isn't good.

What also bothers me is that HTC didn't say anything about the display.
Overall a very bad presentation. Can't they hire someone with presentation skills to present their products?
It was really lame.

Having said that, I might still get the M9 as my second device. My iPhone 6 Plus is not to be replaced...

LMAO. wtf is that....the Vive...

This is just bad designed and nobody needs it. HTC should explain what they intend to do with it and what its purpose is. They said nothing at all.

So it's just m8 in two tone with 20mp camera.....

Underwhelmed after 60 seconds already

And The Verge says the camera isn't that great, especially in low light situations. :(

If you never had an HTC One, it looks great. Otherwise it doesn't.

I don't like that the sides aren't smooth. Maybe it makes the phone less slippery but I can imagine it being uncomfortable to hold.

So, this is basically a re-released M8 with a new camera?

Thats honestly not a bad thing. The M8 was one of the best Android phones all year, hands down.

Everyone wants this crazy revolutionized redesign every year but why make these crazy changes when the only thing that needed changing was the camera.

It has the best speakers in the market, one of the best looks of a phone imo, and sense is a great layer over Android.

Give me this phone over anything Samsung puts out with TW on it thats for sure.

The durability is much better now thanks to the scratch resistant coating and sapphire crystal lens. Glaring omissions on the latter two. The amber gold looked better on the prev ones but the silver and gun metal might look better on the M9 over M8. Nothing wowed. Typical incremental upgrade every year but definitely improved for One X/M7 owners. For M8 owners, not really unless the cam really bothers you.

It's a concept. Anyone can make a cool looking render. We've seen plenty of them for iPhones over the years.

HTC’s One M9 is the world’s most beautiful disappointment
http://www.theverge.com/2015/3/1/8126431/htc-one-m9-hands-on-preview

The design is still gorgeous, the camera is still mediocre. The first time I saw the new device, I confused it for the old one

I read in Android Authority that HTC is aware of the camera issues in the prerelease software and is going to fix them before release.
All comments made by bloggers refer to the same prerelease software.

Having said that, I don't believe that the camera quality will be on par with the iPhone...

Both the S6 and M9 are great pieces of hardware and nice designs. But man both UI's are just not as nice as stock Android. At least Sense is actually pretty good, and Tocuhwiz just blows, but still prefer the option to install stock Android.

The S6 running a Nexus stock Android OS would be amazing, and a must have to me. Same with the M9, would love to see another GPE version from HTC and Google on the M9, but I think that program has dies :(

I like that both the S6 and M9 are still in the smaller 5" size, that are easier for one handed use IMO. But I want the option for stock Lollipop version, with no manufactures UI.

I guess HTC still haven't figured out the camera. More megapixels doesn't mean better images.

I personally like the M9. It looks just as good as the M8 which looked just as good as the M7 before it but with better materials used esp for the lens which were prone to scratches in the prev two. But my biggest fear isn't really from the cam. It is the sudden BATTERY DEGRADATION and NO REMOVABLE BACK COVER. I can live with an embedded battery inside as long as the back cover can be removed and there are screws to unloosen inside. With the One series, it makes it nearly impossible without damaging the device. Even iPhones since the 4 series is very doable sliding off the back and manually replacing the batt yourself. With One, you end up stuck with a depleted battery and poor resale value two years later. Good luck to HTC though. Their phones are more fashionista than practical in the longer run. Looks good, sounds good. That's about it. Many other phones can surpass it in specs just months later and at a lesser price.
