And Sprint.

Just for Clarity, the updates still come from Google but the ATT likes playing god. :/

Drove me insane as well and I don't use cases. I wound up going through different skins before settling on a clear skin; added a little grip too.

What brand ? Do you have a link. I may prefer a skin over a case so I'm not adding more width to it.

I found an annoyance.

Why can't I control Pandora with my headset? I can do it on iOS, I can do it on Windows Phone.

Do you mean remote control wise or voice wise?

I have found that Android devices and headset remote controls can be finicky. They often need separate android specifc ones and even then may or may not work depending on the exact phone and OEM

Pause/play/skip songs.

I'd move to Google Play Music, but it fails to make a Disney radio station.

Currently have armor suit clear skin but have used the matte black from dbrand and leatherette from slockwraps. Dbrand had a more precise cut. I'm also looking into bestskinsever because in the offer a matte for the back. I've found spigen to be the best front shields.

Anyone used a dbrand skin ? Are they any good ? Thinking of ordering one to reduce finger print on rear of my Nexus 6

Just got my nexus 6. I'm running Chroma since it runs much better than cm12. Definitely recommend lowering the DPI since by default its set to 560 which is more that the actual 493 and makes everything bigger than it should be, especially on a phablet.

I have had one for my nexus 4 and iPhone 6+. IMO its the best skin you can get. I really like them. The leather textured ones add the most grip, and they look pretty good too. I would get the dbrand.

I wish Google could take the same stance as Apple. If you want our phone, you have to go by our rules.

Me too, sadly I think Apple may be the one off that no one can copy in that regard (especially the runs every where Android).

same as, i have multirom installed so have cleanrom and chroma both setup, never used the multirom feature before but a great way of trying different roms with the ability to switch to my stable rom for reliability

a little OT but do you know if with CleanROM you can use layers?

I'm giving the Nexus 6 a second try after hearing about all of the improvements since 5.1. I'm really loving this thing and seriously considering ditching my 6 Plus. The battery life isn't as good but it definitely makes it through a full day of heavy use.

Only just had my Nexus 6 about 2 weeks and already it's slowed to a crawl. Some things are snappy but there is about a second lag after tapping an icon on the homescreen before the app opens and I constantly miss taking shots of my dog on the camera because of the delay when opening it up and releasing the shutter. Got 1.5GB of RAM free. Any ideas what could be causing it? I am using Apex launcher - would that slow it down?
Last night it just randomly rebooted into safe mode. Why would that be?

The only thing to try is go back to google now launcher and see. If its not slow - then you could look at Apex. It could be a memory hole.

MEMORY HOLE! That sounds like some sort of hideous interrogation technique from a dystopian sci-fi movie.

Already ditched the ip 6 Plus. I'm running 5.1 with stock launcher and am very happy with performance.

No way Samsung S6 will run this way with that bloat and TW even with 3GB of RAM. Folks will be running for their charger. :)

As of late, I'm a little bummed with my N6 display. This is my second unit and I'm still struggling with certain issues. My first handset, the display was way to warm and now I'm suffering with burned horizontal and vertical lines. It's subtle but visible with certain backgrounds like gray.

Sucks cause I love the pure android experience. :(

And the experiment ended when I moved back to my iPhone yesterday. Nothing major, just some annoyances did it for me.

the difficulty with tracking lag is usually down to a rogue app, but without knowing your setup it would be hard to determine.

I know how easy it is to suddenly get lag, have you cleared cache incase of a rogue update, best done in recovery mode.

I have several apps i use in my setup and have yet to face the odd lag:

  • cleanrom / chroma in multirom setup
  • rooted
  • franco kernel r25 (better battery life / performance
  • franco kernel ( again for the headphone and mic volume boost
  • swipe navigation (hate navigation bar this gives full screen with imitating swipe gestures from the bottom
  • servicely (this kills services from continuing like greenify but free and simple) made by franco kernel guy

Also in dev options set animations to .25 as i hate slow animations yawn.

I didnt ever make the plunge after asking you a lot of questions and this kind of confirms I am glad I waited. I do love me some stock android though and didnt want to go to a Moto X even though MRU loves it! :p
