Just moved from a OnePlus One to a Nexus 6. I also had the iPhone 6 Plus for 3 months recently.

Got the Nexus 6 this weekend, and immediately flashed Chroma ROM, and now on my second day with this beast, I LOVE it. Size wise, it doesn't feel substantially larger than my OnePlus, but quality wise it does feel night and day better. The display is so much nicer, with the deep AMOLED features, and just overall this phone feels tighter and better built.

I was all singing the OnePlus One's praises, calling it my fav Android phone, etc... but after two days with this Nexus 6, no way. Yes for the price of $350 of course the OPO is great, but other than that, the Nexus 6 just seems tons better. But for the price, the OnePlus One is the clear winner, but at the standard flagship pricing of $650 for majority of phones, I put the Nexus 6 as one of the best.

I know people say the Nexus is HUGE, and not easy to one hand. But let's be honest, most phones aren't one hand friendly anymore. My iPhone 6 Plus, was not easily one handed at all, the OnePlus One was difficult to use with one hand. I had the Note 3, and that thing was a two hander as well. Basically all Phablets are large, and not designed to be easily one handed like say the iPhone 5.

Biggest thing I am concerned about with the switch back this time is iMessage and Camera quality.

Other than that I am super excited to try pure Lollipop Android goodness until I see what the 6s+ has to offer in the fall.

The S6 and Edge are beautiful but I love stock Android too much.

Thanks all. I've ordered one now :)

Did you have the blue or the white? I am assuming blue but curious to hear and see how this skin worked out. I am going to rock this beast naked as I have heard good things about the soft touch white material and rigid metal frame.

I will get a screen protector though as I dont want scratches.

For those who mentioned slow downs with certain apps launching after being pressed, try going into storage and wiping cached data. That should get rid of any slow downs until the memory leak is 100% patched.

If I take the nano sim from my 6+ and slide it into the N6, will all my contacts and such carry over or will I have to update them manually?

Like my Note 4, my Nexus 6 is not going anywhere anytime soon.

My next venture might be the G4 and after that the 6s but for now I do not have anything else in the hopper but those.

This thing flies, no app refreshes and videos/games/browsing are very immersive.

No you have to sign into your google account on both devices and turn on contacts to sync then. The sim can be transferred though.

Thanks! I think I did it right after googling your tip. Now the wait begins to get the phone.

Thats the worst part. You've already paid and its yours, you just can't use it. I remember uploading everything on my iPhone to the cloud and deleting apps after I had saved their data. I ended up with no apps on my phone for 2 days while I waited.

----------

I went a little crazy with it.

Note to myself as well to deactivate iMessage or it will be a mess I've heard.

I think I'm going to miss the Touch ID more than I think but will just be an adjustment period. I watch a ton of YouTube so very excited to watch in 1440

If you have a smartwatch then trusted devices and places mitigates the need for lock screen security as it is only enabled when someone else tries to open your phone, from what I have found. Touch ID is however the best feature for Apple pay.

The front facing speakers and on-screen buttons that fade away to avoid inadvertent touches are the two things I've come to appreciate.

If it matters to the OP, download G+ (not sure if G Drive has photo backup option on iOS) and turn on photo backup so they'll automatically show on his android devices as well.

I don't think the contacts are on your sim..I have all of my contacts in Google so they sync no matter what device I am using.

I'm finding the phone too big. It just is that line has been crossed. Moreover width of it.

Love stock android but holding the Nexus 6 and Moto X with each other and I just prefer the moto despite lesser resolution.

Also outdoor visibility is better on the Moto X.

Agreed on the width.

Overall, the phone is okay. I just feel like Google somewhat slacked on the device; they have the money and resources to make a quality product like Samsung and chose not to.

most people dont buy a Nexus device for hardware as we all know as its the purest, best way to experience Android IMO.

Only reason I purchased it over any of the other Android devices as I am not a fan of these skinned versions at all.

I understand about the the pure experience but at a $700 price tag, hardware should be considered, no?

Especially when they are charging the same price pretty much.

Yeah I bought it for stock and to get 5.1 but so far can't see any real major difference between 5.1 on the N6 and 5.0 on my Moto X 2014

Memory management on N6 & Moto X 2014 are far superior to the S6 however. I still get app refreshes on the S6 that simply don't happen on the N6.

Honestly.... I'd love and kill for stock android on the S6 edge with just a few concessions added like people edge.

I totally agree with you on that part. But they did come through with a lot of very large hardware enhancements to add on to the stock android experience.

it just so happens the camera is sub par, batter life is just ok, and a lot of people are turned off by the size.

I overlook those negatives to the device as the biggest reason is the beauty of resource management of stock android and timely updates.

Also, not to mention I got it for substantially cheaper than brand new so that made the decision easier than making the $700 decision you mentioned.

I am agree with the fact that a $700 device should be up to all the flagships. I don't feel like this phone is lacking much. Yes the camera could be better, but that can be said for a lot of flagships. What do you feel the N6 is missing for $700?

I'd say a better camera sensors and build.

Which wireless charger is everyone using for this?

I've seen some be hit or miss in reviews.

How do you feel about the lack of a proper led notification light? I'm coming from iOS so I don't know what I'm missing.
The Nexus 6 has notification lights but they're not functional on the stock OS.

If you root the phone you can download an app that enables the notification lights.

True with regard to the iPhone 6 Plus, but Reachability made it much easier to one hand. And I have to admit, the phone is just slightly too wide for my hands. But I love the phone overall and will be keeping it, and selling my 6 Plus.

It is amazing the difference 'width' moreover than anything else makes a device feel in hand.

My dilema is having a moto X 2014 as well as a Nexus 6. I honestly don't know which I will keep - the moto X 2014 does feel so much more comfortable - but the Nexus 6 does get updates first.

I do not know the model number off the top of my head but it was a Nokia I bought from a Verizon store back when. I brought my Nexus7 with me to make sure the charger was compatible. Works fine with my N6.
