Are badges and the ability to make the google bar transparent or remove it part of rooting?

Annoying google bar and man I am missing quick reply on the lock screen from iOS

You get these options from ' Nova launcher ' IMO my most used app and first download on every Android phone I ever had. Nova is just so great. It allows so many tweaks and extra customization, to me is my #1 must have.

It works on stock regular phones, doesn't need root or anything.

The options and tweaks are too long to list on this post. But what you see on my screen is the clear Google search bar, the badges, the wider Grid pattern, I am running 5 rows high X 6 rows wide.

Another great one, is it allows swiping down anywhere on the screen will drag the notification shade down, so need to go all the way to top and drag it down, with Nova you can just slide your thumb down anywhere in the home screen and the notification shade pulls down. I LOVE THIS FEATURE.

Nova also allows tweaks on how the screen pages look when tuning from screen to screen. You can set it to a number of different animations.

' Textra ' is a great SMS text app, it has Quick Reply.

And then I sneakily hide my only other widget in the dock for quick swipe access

How do you guys post your screens like that so easily?
They look sweet.

I am a simple man so one page and multiple folders along the bottom.

BTW, Textra is awesome. Thank you for the suggestion!

Power + Volume Down for a few seconds = screen shot.

I then use tapatalk app to browse this forum and add image to post.

Which clock and weather widget are you using?

Thats a combo of..

Weather Timeline app for weather (and occasional clock/weather)

Google clock widget.

Weather Timeline I only see an app. How is it brought to the home screen to mimic yours?

Edit: Never mind, forgot to check for its widgets.

Background a little loud for my current icon setup but thought I'd still share.

Well in that case, if we're showing off home screens......

Well, that's what it looks like today - will change completely by tomorrow....

Thats the thing I do enjoy about Android is the customization of how to set up.

I have major OCD and multiple screens and app icons all over my screen make me itch. :)

I go simple and all folders on the bottom and a clear screen no icons except the google search bar which is annoying me and cant remove unless I root.

That's one of the best features that I like about my Note 4 is that I was able to delete the search bar. If I want to use Google to search, I open the Google app.

It annoys me that I can't delete it on my Nexus 4. I'm thinking of buying a Nexus 6 to try from BestBuy. If I don't like it, I can return it.

You don't need to root - just install a launcher like Apex and have a play around.

I dont want a launcher as I love the stock look and feel of the device minus this piece but I will get over it and my OCD will just have to chill. :)

I think I finally have the device set up to where I want it with notification sounds, settings, screen layout, apps, and such.

The battery life continues to be a concern but I will need to just get over it and realize it is not a 6+ and set up ways to combat that. I am getting a couple of wireless chargers for home and office as well as possibly another fast charger for work instead of carrying mine around all the time.

I use max brightness which I think makes the screen really hit its potential and I know its not good for the battery life but it makes the device so much more enjoyable.

So far I am really enjoying it coming from my 6+.
