I kind of have to agree with that. I went back to the iPhone 6+ for a week and one of the things that made me come back again was the screen size. It's a nice screen. I've always wondered what the Mega would be like, to be honest.

While not the Mega, the latest large phone I picked up was the HTC Max. Since I like it and I got it on the cheap, I am glad I bought it.

After having my Nexus 6 a couple weeks now. I am surprised at how comfortable the size has gotten to me. Yes its a large phone, but doesn't feel crazy huge anymore, and really no different than my iPhone 6 Plus in the hand.

I see a lot of people commenting on the size and I'd like to add my take. I plan on moving to a Nexus 6 from an iPhone 6 Plus. They're both very large but mostly similar in size. You realize how large and unnecessary the bezels on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are once you start using another device.

That said, the Nexus 6 is just a tad bit larger which is still impressive given that the screen is noticeably larger. The main thing is width. I have large-ish hands and long fingers, and the Nexus 6 is just a bit too wide for me to reach my thumb across the keyboard to press keys on the opposite side. It's mostly just a nuisance, but that fact alone makes one-handed use on the Nexus 6 nearly impossible. I was able to use the iPhone 6 Plus with one hand due to Reachability.

I'm about to confess something which I'm not proud of. I use my phone while driving. I know I shouldn't, but I'm pretty good at it, and I have a pretty good sense of when it's OK to do so, how long is an acceptable amount of time to divert my attention, and so on and so forth. With the iPhone 6 Plus I had just about perfectly mastered being able to use my phone without impairing my driving very much. Once I switched to the Nexus 6, that calibration was impacted a bit. Long story short, I bumped into a car in stop-and-go traffic about a week ago - the first accident in my entire life - because I hadn't quite realized that with a Nexus 6, I can't hold it above the steering wheel like I did with my 6 Plus. It's too big. If you're someone who uses your phone (even sparingly) in the car, it's certainly a much bigger risk. Luckily, there wasn't any damage to my car or the other one.

I plan on keeping my Nexus 6 because I love Android 5.1 and I really can't see myself going back to the pages and pages of icons approach on a phone. That said, I'm starting to realize how much I miss the portability of a smaller device. Even with the iPhone 6 Plus it was a bit too unwieldy to manage with one hand, although I managed. I am sincerely hoping that Google's next flagship is 5.1" to 5.4", unless they are able to work some magic with the bezels. In my opinion, that is the sweet spot for mobile devices.

One handed use is just another thing thrown into the kettle for preference with smartphones. Prioritization I understand but if you throw ergonomics into it then you lessen the immersive experience with games, video, browsing etc.

Obviously these smartphones aren't cheap so the more immersive use one get out of them the better. It seems like manufacturers are finding folks are beginning to tolerate less ergonomics and giving the consumer a better overall experience with a bigger size. So much so that 7" tablets are a thing of the past. Of course the latter gives even a better experience with games, video, browsing etc but now one finds their that much better off not having to carry two devices with them. Much the same with carrying a camera and a smartphone, the latter being quite good enough.

Where does everyone go for their wallpapers?

Any central location for a good pool of them?

Best place for Android phones is get the Zedge app from the play store. Tons of wallpapers and ring tones and notifications.

I throw my cents, I am using muzei as wallpaper to get different artwork as wallpaper everyday. Good idea, the pity is that I am still being pushed the same artist.

I don't understand, but when I use the tapatalk app on my nexus 6 I can't see some of the pictures like this one you just posted. Does anyone know if I can change a setting to be able to see it?
No its a bug in the new Tapatalk. Happens on all my android devices.

Oh on thanks. That kind of sucks. I have to pull out my iOS device to see it. I never use the MacRumors site because I am always on a mobile device, and I hate it on a mobile

Accessory day!!

Got 2 wireless chargers of the Nokia variety which I've strategically placed one on my desk at home and another on my desk at work. They work great.

Also 2 dbrand skins. One in carbon fiber white and the other in silver titanium.

I'll have my artist, meticulous wife install it instead of my fat fingers. :D

Cool sounds like Christmas in April. Pics of the skins and charger please.

Wireless charger:Nokia DT-900
Skin: Dbrand white carbon fiber, no nexus

Loving both of these. The skin adds a nice amount of grip to the slippery white back and perfect for using this big phone naked which I prefer.

The wireless charger is a good size and very long cord which is a big plus. No fiddling with placement. Put it on and instantly reads every single time.

I've been considering getting a Qi for work and was looking at the TYLT.

Those are nice but also pricey. I came across these due to an awesome MacRumors poster that reached out to me that had 2 laying around. Got both for an incredible deal in brand new condition.

Will put one at work for just sitting on my desk. Might as well charge while it sits there is my thinking.
