Exactly the same. All of my peripherals from Yubikey, to Logi 4K to USB-C NVMe SSD work exactly the same.
Excellent! Thank you! I figured as much, but also decided it wouldn't hurt to ask..... I have external HDDs, I have Samsung T5s and T7s and I also have Samsung X5...... Not too long ago I went to use my X5 on my 12" MacBook and remembered, oh, yeah, that machine is USB-C only, not Thunderbolt 3.

Hello! I have never used X-Plane before but I tried to fly the Seattle demo. I took screenshots (attached). It was quite smooth!
I was running this on my LG Ultrafine 5K
What resolution is showing on te LG Untrafine 5K? I have read that max is 4K on this monitor wit M1; is that true?

Fun fact: BootCamp Assistant is present, and according to System Report, it's a universal app (meaning Apple took the time to compile an ARM version of it...)

Observations (to be updated as they come):
Are you using a BT keyboard/mouse. Did the initial set-up find the BT devices or did you have to go hard wired USB with a keyboard and mouse?

Do you have a Thunderbolt 3 dock to test? I am specifically interested to know whether dual 4K monitors would work via the dock.

Hi there, could you check if the VSCO App is available to install on the m1 mac or if the devs opted out.

can it support more than one external display
No, but if you have an iPad, I confirmed you can use Sidecar and an external display. If you have an external display plugged into one port and then try to connect a second, it does not power the second display unless you unplug the first external display. It is a disappointing limitation since the GPU certainly has the horsepower (it is twice as fast as the Ice Lake MacBook Pro), but I'm guessing that it gets addressed when Apple brings the M series to more advanced Macs (and hopefully to the Air and base Pro in future years).

Multiple reports, as well as Apple documentation, shows that only one external monitor is possible wiht these M1 laptops with or without a dock. With the mini one can run of HDMI and another off the USB/Thunderbolt port.

That's true, but it IS possible to use an AirPlay display (including an iPad through Sidecar) and an external display. I had my LG Ultrafine 5K connected through Thunderbolt and my 4K TV connected through AirPlay 2.

Interesting; and as I am not familiar with that setup, does it allow completely separate assignable content to the airplay TV setup? As in run separate software on the monitor and the TV monitor?

Dual displays do not work. I have a HyperDrive dock with Thunderbolt and HDMI. The MacBook only recognises one screen at the time. When I plugged my LG Ultrafine 4K, the HDMI port did not work. If I unplugged it, then the HDMI port would work with my LG C7.
That's even with the clamshell closed.

Yes. Lots of 4K TVs support AirPlay now, and so do some newer monitors that support wireless display (Intel has a similar WiDi specification for monitors).

Does the IPAD Netflix app work? I saw another post that says no Mac app.
Netflix isn't available for download as an iPad app. Netflix must have disabled support for running under Apple Silicon. Curious why do you need an app when you can use Safari to watch Netflix?

Anything specific workflow you want me to try? I have never used handbrake.

Converting MPEG2 video to AV1 (i.e. converting video ripped from a DVD to the latest compression standard) and converting H.264 video (footage from any number of sources in the last ten years) to AV1 are my burning questions - but if you've not used HandBrake before it might take a while to get to grips with - plus you need to find video clips to work on - totally understand if you're not able.

This was my other burning question.

Thank you for doing this for us all!

Was curious as someone else in another post was complaining about it, thanks for the reply. I am really just wondering about the viability of touch screen apps on a non-touch screen. I LOVE Spark email app on IPAD, does that by any chance run.

Been reading about "restore" bricking the M1. I'll have to migrate data from my old computer using a Time Machine backup. Is "migrating" the same as "restoring"? Did you transfer data to your new M1? Migration worked smoothly?
