I have both the SE now and a Xs Max and I love the SE for just phone calls. Every time I take a call on the SE, I’m just amaze of how easy it is to hold and talk.

The Xs is useful for messaging and reading, of course.

well today might be your lucky day. woot.com has GSM versions on a one day sale.

Came back here to say thanks for this tip! I ended up buying one because I saw your post. A few weeks later I tried to get the battery replaced in the unit I was sent and the repair failed. Apple gave me a brand new unit, so I got a brand new SE for $100, essentially. All thanks to you!

SE is amazing iPhone but it becomes too small nowaydays
Specs are a bit outdated although processor is still ok
I think SE would be a great ''pocket'' and second iPhone, not as main iPhone
Maybe also towards pros who want compactness and easy to carry on

I have an iPhone Xʀ and an iPhone 5c, I would definitely like an iPhone SE to replace the 5c.
Just curious, how’s the SE’s battery life on iOS 13?

I wouldn't mind an SE as a second phone. The small form factor would be nice in certain occasions when the my Pro Max would be cumbersome to carry around. But I can't go back to SE as my daily driver. I need that large screen.

Under moderate to heavy usage (very unscientific- a few hour long phone calls, one of those calls on speaker, a few GPS calls to find a meeting place or restaurant, light web browsing for maybe 30 minutes) I lasted just up to 5 pm after taking it off the charger around 8 am.

It definitely reminded me of the days when I used a 4S and frequently carried a battery pack around. But under lighter, weekend usage I think it might last all day. Not able to compare to iOS 12 since I wasn’t using it before the new update.

Nah. I can tell you that I’ve had the largest smart phones offered all the way down to the iPhone SE, I flip-flop, because I don’t always want a large smart phone in my pocket, it’s annoyingly _too_ big at times. So I would gladly gravitate towards a smaller iPhone, when I especially primarily use it primarily for comm/notifications, anything else larger, I can resort to my iPad/laptop. #Da-Truth.

I can feel your pain, you just need a Galaxy Fold for now or wait until next year to see if Apple bring some 2 in 1 device. If not you will still have an option of Suface duo or neo. Good night and don't worry.

I was using SE before moving to 7 and for me the perfect device would be iPhone’s 6-8 screen size (4,7”) in a slightly smaller wrapping. They do not need to get rid of bezels entirely or bring the notch with its expensive tech, just reduce its top/bottom bezels slightly. Let’s see what comes out in the spring 2020.

Trust me. Ask your wife if larger is in fact better.

I can't suggest someone who wants an iPhone to pick SE:

- Display is way too small, really 4 inches is damn ridiculous in 2019
- iOS UI is much more adapted to larger displays
- Except CPU, specs are outdated (camera, display)

In the other hands, great iPhone as 2 nd small form factor iPhone:

- Cheaper price tag
- Easy to carry on, fits into your pocket
- Heavy lightweight!
- Design isnt get old, still pretty sleek design
- Performances are still ok (thanks to Apple for implementing one of best ARM CPU)

I like my SE. I like the design and the ability to use one hand while texting. The screen is not an issue especially if you've had those smaller screens. Plus if I need something bigger I can use my iPad.

I laugh at those with larger screens because I can see what you are doing, while standing 4 rows back baah haahhh haaa

I went from 5s to 6s Plus, used it for 3 months until I couldn’t stand it any longer. Was relieved to sell it and go back to my 5s. It can be done.

- Well, I don’t think the year is relevant since our hands haven’t gotten any bigger since 2014. Maybe our eyes have gotten worse though.
- This is an unfortunate chicken/egg scenario.
- True, but still does the job well!

well we are getting an SE2, which I can’t wait to see in person. And it’ll be a bit more useful with a 4.7” screen right?
I think a bigger screen is both more and less useful. More useful for obvious reasons. And less useful because with bigger size comes less portability (forever the trade off), and less situations in which one is able to use the device—in this case less situations one is able to use it one-handed. Just depends on the person which is more useful to them.

iPhone SE is a real gem. Sad to say I’ve never used one.

I’m on the iPhone 11 pro but mad respect for that model :)

I went from a 6S+ to an SE and its an amazing phone. I love how light it is, how nice it fits into pants pockets, easy to use in one hand. I'd like that size phone with edge to edge screen, I know it'll never happen.

I don't consume media on phone - works great for email, messages, slack, uber, maps, etc..

That's my thought
iPhone 6/7/8 is perfect size
I had both iPhone X and SE, i am still using SE because i couldn't stand with the extra size of iPhone X at that time + it was pretty heavy in comparison of SE
Although iPhone X is sightly bigger than 6/7/8, borderless and bigger display is pain to use with thumb

There is also a rumour of a 5,4” iPhone coming in the autumn/fall 2020, kind of a mini-11 Pro. Won’t be as cheap, obviously, but might be quite more advanced and interesting than an iPhone 8-based model rumoured for the spring 2020.

No I’d personally find a £500 iPhone SE a LOT more interesting then a £1150 iPhone Pro! That won’t offer more then double the value of a new SE.

You never now, as 5,4” will be physically smaller, it might sell for around 800-900£.
