I'd love to use a clear case but I hate wiping the finger prints and the yellowing!

I have ordered a few cases off Amazon it translucent matte effect backs to see how they fit and feel

To me the cases are uglier than any scratch or dent... so no, i never use a case and that is why the phone color matters to me ;)

I need/want a case with a kickstand so I have only found black cases with stands that I like. So colors don’t really matter to me. I am jealous of those who don’t use cases and keep their phones in great condition. That ain’t me!

I leave my phone naked! Cases make the phone thicker, heavier, and hides the beauty. So I wish there were more color choices in the higher end phones. In fact, that’s the one time I’m different - I put a skin on the phone if I’m stuck with a boring color. My old iPhone Xs has a fake wood grain back.

I prefer clear case. The phone is beautiful, why hide it. If I’m not paranoid I’ll drop or scratch it I would prefer it naked.

Another way of looking at this is:

Why have Apple made design and material choices that made their phones so fragile, thus making using an iPhone without a case the very definition of ‘living dangerously’!

Since the invention of the iphone you mean ?? This is literally the point at which the game changed in the mobile space. You went from Nokias and ericssons that had durable plastic and rubber. nokia build quality is literally a meme. Need ed charged once a week. Apple gambled on punters will to sacrifice this for a device you had to charge at least once a day, and would smash if you dropped it .... And punters couldn't wait to throw their money at this, henceforth 95% of every phone made since that point is a daily charging required, glass fronted fragile faberge egg device. And people lap it up. for the most part. Remember X-press on covers ??

I rocked my 4S and 5 sans case and had zero issues. Granted I'm not particularly hard on my devices, but still. A couple drops on carpet from 2-3 ft up but no glass damage, no scratches on any surface. I only started using a case when Apple went with the rounded sides, which made it harder for my fat meat hooks to pick up the phone one-handed and sure-handedly. For me it was about grip, not protection, per se. The 12 Pro will go naked as well unless the stainless bands on the side prove too slick to grip.

I use a clear case but I’d love to go without a case. When I do though, my XS Max is like the slipperiest bar of soap ever and doesn’t stay where I put it, so case it is.

Planning on the semi ugly MagSafe clear case this year with the wallet for the 12 Pro Max until some better third party cases with MagSafe arrive. Unless it’s not bar of soap slippery like my XS Max then maybe no case.

I bought my iPhone X used and got a killer deal even though it was white which I hate.
My rationale was that I always use a case and after a while I actually forgot the phone was white.
I removed the case one day to clean the phone and was actually surprised.
:D

The sharp edges of the 12 series will help. I remember using my iPhone 4 without a case. Very comfortable.

Hybrid clear case, Ringke fusion-x camo. Great protection and don't turn yellow. Color became a thing with the iPhone 5s gold, I remember that color sold out fast.

You’re right. The whole thing about colors is overblown. I can count on one hand the number of times in the past year I stopped to admire the color of my phone.
