The next update should be submitted within the next few days. When the new update is submitted the desktop (OS X) version will be available online also. Wifi syncing and iCal integration will be available via the desktop version (and syncing with the mobile version).

Would have been done a few days ago but the last couple days were spent moving back down to school (Go Hokies!).

Hey I bought the app a few days ago and I love it and can't wait to start using it. Also awesome that you're listening to people and updating it. I honestly would of gladly paid more for the app.

That sounds great... from what I've gathered it does take awhile for updates to get through the app store correct? Not that it matters, as long as the update is coming soon I'll purchase the app :) sounds just like what I needed!!! Thanks a ton.

I almost posted that you were probably busy going back to school! My friends DH moved his son back down this week.

I'm anxious to see the desktop side for another reason/use, but hey, get settled in at school first!

I just wanted to say I love your application. I started using it this year and all my friends are envious. It has quickly become my most frequently used application for school and it is so helpful checking everything so quickly.

This app looks great from the screenshots. One thing that's missing and that I would love would be a class schedule. I seem to always be writing mine on random pieces of paper that I end up losing so having it in one app would be phenomenal.

Why not put this down on the iPhone's notepad?

I am going to sound like a total pain, but I cannot wait for the desktop client!! (read as excited, not as being mad or bit**y!)
do we have an ETA??:)

Great App, I just started classes today so I finally got to try out the app after buying it over a month ago.

A few suggestions, could you add recurring assignments? A lot of my classes have readings before class and it is a real pain to input 30-60 times daily readings. Is there a way to set a time the red circle with # uncompleted assignments to only count assignments a day, week, or month away? Maybe tests start reminding when there's two weeks to go, quizzes 1 week, assignments 2 days etc. It's annoying to have a reminder for a final that's not till December.

You can copy an assignment by clicking the left icon above details when you select an assignment you previously added.

That's great to hear! If you run into any problems or have any suggestions let me know.

My only problems with ETAs are that I've missed my last two :(. About half way through I decided to scrap the design and go with a different approach. I can honestly say now that it's getting close to being done - and while I can't give an exact date I can say it should be very soon. Remember that even though I can release the desktop version as soon as it's ready - the mobile update (that will support syncing) will have to be submitted and go through App store approval goodness

There currently isn't a way to set the icon badge by assignment type - but if you go into the Settings app of your device and click "iHomework" you'll see that you can change what assignments are counted in the icon badge (i.e. All, None, 3 days, 5 days, etc...). Hope that helps!

I'll try to post a picture or two of what the desktop app looks like so far tomorrow - it really should be ready soon.

I'll be ready to look at them when you get the chance!

I'm currently trying: Schoolhouse, Assignment Planner and iProcrastinate on the desktop side. Of course, i'm sure you will have it Leopard/Intel only and that will muck me up (DD is ready for a new computer, just lacking in the funds). But i still want to see what you do!

Here are a few screenshots of the desktop version so far. There are still a few bugs lurking around in it so it's not 100% just yet. Let me know what you guys think! It's still a good time to make changes to the app so let me know (it is a light version of the mobile app and it's only version 1.0).

funnily enough I posed a thread in the app section of the forum about a desktop app that syncs with an app on iphone for homework/course tracking. Will definitely part with my cash for both. :) Excellent stuff.

Looking like a good start!

What info goes to iCal? Can you show what that looks like? (that might work for me in a different way).

Would you be at all interested in being able to store links to files for a class in the work entry on the desktop?

How much time to you want to put into the desktop? Because i could give you a wish list! LOL!!!

This looks like it's coming along well. Too bad I'm windows.

I have been looking at this app for a while, I'm starting my second semester of community college soon i'm still thinking to get this or others. But this app does look really nice.

I like the Devs support and will to improve the app.

iHomework Desktop Available

Just made iHomework Desktop (Mac OS X 10.5) available for download at http://ihomework.pilone.org/Downloads.html

Syncing is not "technically" supported yet since the mobile update (which I'm submitting today) needs to be approved. I really hope to not cause any confusion with users but I felt it had to be done this way since Apple may want to test syncing before approving this update (and therefore the desktop version had to be available).

Version 1.0 is a light version of the mobile app that provides the basic functions of iHomework. With no approval process I hope to update the desktop version regularly. Enjoy!

I kind of think that having assignment types (Homework, Quiz, Test, ect) would be nice if it was on a course by course basis and not a global one.

Like for one class I have Journal 1 as 3% of the grade and Journal 2 as 8% of the grade so I have to make 2 new assignment types that will show up in my other classes just for this class, and most of my classes have unique things like it.

Anyone else?

I agree 100% with this! But still great app.

No doubt! For now I just make categories like:

Assignment type (Class)

Even if they repeat.

Besides that nothing else bothers me much, just visual tweaks and make some things more streamlined

Wow, I'm blind I didn't even notice the desktop client! Can't wait till syncing is supported, hopefully Apple will approve it.

Can you make it so that you can organize your courses in the order you want? For instance i want to do it for the hour in high school, right now its in alphabetical order, which i don't prefer.

Thanks (this is in the iHomework Desktop app)

also is it possible to make it so that you don't have to add your teacher as a contact? I know the app is aimed towards college, however i don't like having my HS teachers in my contacts :p
