Thanks Arix you rock :) I know this has been answered but I can't seem to find it..how do I delete apps?

If you installed them with the installer on the iPod, it will also uninstall. If it is one of the iPhone apps, I would restore and jailbreak again, but take the app out of the folder in the jailbreak resources first. Does that make sense?

I just uninstalled summerboard and term vt10 using the uninstall function. Will that suffice? Just don't want the icons to show up on my screen. Realised that thats not the way you install summerboard :D

Big thanks to you AriX !

I just Jailbroke my iPod Touch and it was painless. It installed the iPhone Apps without nay issue. I'm really impressed by your great job ! It was worth the wait ! Thank you ! ;)

this program sounds great, but the one thing i would like to know before i do it is could apple brick my ipod with the next update?

also, i just saw that you can't run iJailbrake on a PPC. is this true? i have a G4, so this means i can't run it?

It's not true, you can run it on a PPC mac.

Just so everyone knows..

Ok, if anyone is hesitant, go for it. I just downloaded it, and ran the application, the directions that come with it tell you everything and when to do it, all that is required by you is clicking OK when you are done restarting your ipod. Im 17 and have never been successful or tried anything like this and it worked first try ffor me!

It doesn't change anything :)
Install BSD Subsystem and then MobileFinder via Installer.app (in that order!) and use MobileFinder to delete Stocks.app. Restart, and you should be good :)

ha! i found this when i was having a look around last night and thought that might be the way to do it. cool i'll have a go now. thanks again mate.

im getting issues with summerboard, it makes my 4 main icons at the bottom come to the top of the ipod on top of the apps

You will need to install the update manually....

Get 1.1.1 alpha. Here: http://www.apptapp.com/summerboard/

Follow these instructions to a T. Keep in mind there are THREE Libraries... don't get the right stuff in the wrong library. And don't forget to fix permissions at the end... You'll need to CyberDuck to install the files (on a Mac - I dunno about the other brands) and use the Terminal to do the SSH stuff. Here you go.

********************************
MANUAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
********************************

Copy the files to your iPhone as follows:

SummerBoard.framework -> /Library/Frameworks/SummerBoard.framework
SMBPrefs.app -> /Applications/SMBPrefs.app
Themes -> /var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes
com.apple.SpringBoard.plist -> /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist

Make sure that the plists permissions are as such:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 704 Oct 9 20:00 com.apple.SpringBoard.plist

Reboot iPhone, enjoy!

Ok I'm going to ask a stupid question, when navigating to these folders do you manually type in those addresses because when I search I can't seem to find them ie /Library/Frameworks/SummerBoard.framework. Sorry I know nothing about cyberduck

Is there any reason why no one will help me? its probably a stupid question and I'm sorry I'd really appreciate an answer

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3A110a Safari/419.3)

You should have that as part of your download. Use cyberduck to verify all the files that were intended for those destinations. There are only a handful of paths to check.

they are symlinked via the Media_sym icon. It treats it like a link and a file at the same time, but when you click it it acts like a folder...

everything you need is under that

And for your next project...

Arix, now that you have mastered reading and writing files to the Touch via USB, is it possible to write an app that allows you to manipulate files via USB? Just like a file manager, or something simple like iBrickr. This would make it easier for people with wireless issues and those that found command-line SSH sessions too much trouble.
It'd be a really great utility to have.

It doesn't change anything :)

The startup script doesn't seem to be running on the iPod... SSH in, do /bin/csh, then do /temp/install.sh. That should take care of it. If that doesn't work, restore and try again.

Hi again,

I have tried to SSH in but I get an "connection refused on port 22"
("using SSH -l root [Itouch IP]" in terminal). I have "successfully" run iJailbreak several times and try to "SSH in" but get the same error every time.

Any ideas?

You need to have your iPod's IP address. You can find that in your iPod's wifi setting.
