iJustine can definitely be extra, but even more extra is the not-so-subtle sexism in all of the talk I hear about her.

Linus is shrill and overreact-y af, and no one says boo.

What can I say?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He is a bit annoying but I think he's an INCREDIBLY smart person, WELL beyond the normal tech reviewer read off a spec sheet of a phone level, and I always learn something new. There's others like that like Louis Rossman.

Big difference when there is a lot of substance beyond a bit annoying personality/presentation of it.

iJustine has been an Apple fan since before most of the hormonal kids in this thread were born.

She’s genuinely into tech, has fun with it, her videos look and sound fantastic and she knows her stuff.

Good on her for living her dream.

I was wondering why do Apple bother sending her a iPhone X to unbox or review? You might as well ask the cat.

You have other good youtubers like unbox therapy and others who don’t get a review version yet ijustine somehow manages to get one when she’s irrelevant when it comes to talking tech or reviewing it.

iJustine has over 5 million subscribers on YouTube! and is a long time Apple fangirl too! I think she is as an individual has the most Apple based subscriber devotees/users on YouTube! iJustine been doing this stuff for well over 10 years now and she has a lot of technical expertise in video and photo production work! Plus, she is entertaining to watch if you have not notice. She like the top 20 in Apple list of invites too! This is a worldwide list from what I hear!

LOL. Hell yes.

She represent those of us who love Apple.

Why do you think she’s dumb?
Because she doesn’t know everything technical?

She would be a better IT Support Tech than half the IT Support Techs I know, regardless of whether or not she reads off of spec sheets.

I have no problem with ijustine I watch her videos on occasion but I’m a flossy carter guy. Lol. Him and white shoes (his cat) even though he’s a Samsung guy loves his notes because of spen but I do enjoy his reviews of iPhones and tech in general as well as cases.

He is more into cases and being a 'cool" dude! I watch Flossy for laughs. White shoes is a gorgeous cat too!

Who gives a ****? She's entertaining, appeals to certain groups of people, and is a clear Apple fangirl from the start.

That's why Apple gives it to a bunch of people. You aren't tied to just Justine for an opinion. And I think she does good the way she does it. She has a particular style when it comes to showing off tech, so let's just let her do it and move on with life.

Also, really ... Lou from Unbox Therapy? I would have preferred if you mentioned someone like Mr. Mobile to actually make a point who actually delivers very informative and well thought out videos; Dave Lee (Dave2D) is another great youtuber. Still, I think Justine is fair game. She has a style that she sticks with - it's not overly complex, it's the bare minimum, and she's enthusiastic consistently. The perfect marketing tool for Apple.

I think that Apple does this to build hype for the upcoming products. They selectively choose who will get it based on who they think will give it a positive (or slightly positive) reaction. It makes no sense to choose Youtuber who started "bend-gate" in the past, and doesn't like Apple products very much.

The fact that most of this thread doesn't understand the appeal of iJustine illustrates perfectly why Apple ignores forums like this when making product decisions and why Apple products keep setting sales records despite consistently doing the opposite of what people here demand. BLUF: Most consumers resemble iJustine way more than they resemble MR readers

Personally, I enjoy Justine's videos. I don't go to her for a fair review or any kind of serious analysis, but when I want to watch someone happily enjoying Apple products, she's high on the list.

Same with EverythingApplePro, although that's more an info channel than anything else.

Her photo review was actually on point. All sorts of different scenarios that really show off how good the XS is, especially in low light. Definitely recommend a watch (and I'm usually pretty critical about those types of reviews). The low light video was super impressive.

Well I mean... I'm 42... so maybe I shouldn't be making any comments, I dunno.

I just find her brand of "tech video" to be a bit vapid and empty. It's the kind of thing my children enjoy watching.

It's probably not aimed at my demographic.

What about Jonathan Morrison

Also unbox therapy did the whole bend gate thing with iPhone 6 which Apple really didn’t like

iJustine is has fun reviews and she had a massive following but when it comes to tech she’s not very knowledgeable. Can’t argue with that following though - she’s one of the biggest YouTubers out there.

She’s very knowledgeable of tech. There are different levels.

That was actually a really good review. It wasn't a hi-tech review but for the average iPhone user it really shows off the new features well. I've actually avoided watching her reviews thinking they wouldn't be very good, I was wrong.

I think there's a difference between being able to memorize a spec sheet and actually being learned about technology. There are a lot of 'glorified unboxers' on YouTube, not mentioning anyone specifically.

Two specific individuals that I think make a true concerted effort to do thoughtful reviews about products and are not really too concerned about having their videos up first, before everyone else, are MrMobile [Michael Fisher] and MobileTechReview [Lisa Gade].

Same, most of her videos in the past were pretty empty, but she seems to be stepping it up lately. I think thats the best demonstration of the camera so far.
